Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is number 22 out of the
series. I created and started this thread nearly 10 years ago.
I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe. 🌹✨😎

Hi everyone. Thanks so much for your concern, but I think I may have a way to get hubby home. We have three steps leading to our front door which will require a ramp. I have wanted to move from this area for years but found homes (before they increased in value) to need work and I just didn’t want to spend the extra $$. I am now beginning to find some in our price range and they are brand new with a layout that is similar to what I have now. There are no stairs leading to the front door. I will just have to make sure that the doorways are wheelchair assessible. I will need to work with people to also make it handicapped ready. Ok, now I may have a solution that will require some help from rehab. I think hubby can stand on one leg. In his case I will not recommend crutches. I am thinking of a walker (which we have) that can get him to the bathroom on his own. Amazon has bars that go around a toilet that will enable to get from wheelchair to that area with the walker also aiding if need be. If he can stand on one leg he can also use the walker to get out of bed and into a wheelchair (which we also have). This is thinking out of the box. I’m just wondering if it will be feasible. Since we lost all but a few pieces of furniture due to rodents, we will be starting out from the beginning. Of course this is a temporary solution until something permanent can be arranged but will enable him to be home and may be get the assistance he needs in order to work out the problems of the left knee. And, if we can find a home that meets our needs we will be on our way. If this is workable he will be able to go shopping in grocery stores using their carts or I may find one for ourselves. Our walker does not have wheels. If and when he is able to use both legs I may take a look at the ones with wheels. This is just a thought. It looks good to my head, but may not be. At least it is giving me food for thought.

I couldn’t agree with you more. He mentioned that the knee was beyond repair, yet it did not look that way on the x-ray. I feel he was looking for any excuse not to operate. Hubby may have a bit of dementia, but not enough to say that there are other methods that may help. I was reading about an orthopedist off Cape who actually does not believe in surgery unless it’s absolutely necessary. He claimed that there are other things that should be tried first. When hubby is ambulatory, I will try to make an appointment with this physician. The first orthopedist we saw here had hubby go for therapy. At that time it was the right knee that could not take any pressure. We never got to the surgery part because he was transferred to a hospital near us that had a real bad reputation due to bacteria and fungus throughout the rooms. I was reluctant to use this hospital because a friend of ours almost died. I just want hubby to be as comfortable as he can be and to live without pain. He was in good spirits tonight. One good thing is that he remembers the therapy he had with the first physician and has been practicing. I also agree with Taci that he may have an interest in this Rehab or with some of the personnel. Hubby stated tonight that it is a tough go in that the left knee is quite painful. We shall see what we can do to alleviate what we can.
