Conversation – 22
Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is number 22 out of the
series. I created and started this thread nearly 10 years ago.
I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe. 🌹✨😎

I forgot to mention that the An 2024, Chinese New Year begins on February 10th and ends with the Lantern Festival on February 24. “The entire celebration spans up to 16 days, with the official Chinese public holiday lasting from February 10 to February 174. During this time, families come together, feasts are shared, and traditions are observed to welcome the new year. It’s a time of joy, reunion, and cultural significance! ” This year it is the Year of the Dragon.
Some of the Asian restaurants celebrate the New Year with dances, songs and ethnic foods not usually seen. There are parades, fireworks and a dragon dance as well. So much fun to watch and maybe be invited to join the families.
Have a great day and enjoy the sunshine along with springlike temps.

Good evening to you. Funny, I guess I took your advice and made today a ME day. For some reason I was tired and slept most of the day. I feel better and the energy is back. No, I didn’t see hubby today. I’m taking advantage of going through boxes by the front door that keep getting moved around as I leave and return. This is in preparation of a wheelchair coming through the front door.
There is no timeline for hubby returning home. However, I feel the sooner the better. I do have a few hurdles to take care of though. I need to redo the guest bathroom and ours as well. I need to be able to get a wheelchair through the bathroom doors and into a shower. Not sure if I can make the shower into a walk-in in our bathroom. Hubby will need to be able to get into the shower with a wheelchair unless he is able to move himself from the wheelchair to the chair that is waterproof along with the remote. I will be checking with our health insurance to see if someone can help me with this when he returns home. At the same time I am also looking into some of the newer homes that are not only on one floor, but have no steps anywhere and that includes the entry. I have seen a few villas and single homes, but closet space is also an issue. After losing a roof and an entire lanai, I’m looking for a home that is newer. Having Insurance questions because of this. The newer homes are being built so that they can withstand a hurricane with winds over 200mph. Sounds good on paper until you see price. Just say it’s way above my budget.
The other concern I have is hubby being able to sit up in bed on his own. He is in a hospital bed and relies on someone putting him into a sitting position. He also must be able to go from the bed to a wheelchair on his own. I no longer can lift him and at the moment he is dead weight. In some instances, I do see why the first orthopedist recommended a nursing/convalescent home. However, that is something I do not want to do. At least not now. I am also trying to get an idea of what the cost would be to make our van handicapped accessible with hubby using both a wheelchair and a scooter. If hubby is able to transfer himself from bed to wheelchair then maybe all I would need is a ramp which can be purchased, believe it or not, through Amazon. Amazon even has ramps for stairways. It’s amazing what you can find when you need it. But, again,l I will need help on this in choosing what is best for both of us. The night nurse works with hubby to get him to be more independent. He will be at the Rehab tonight through Monday. Hoping at some point, hubby will be able to do some of these things without help. It’s hard when you are all thumbs. At the same time I will need a service dog to let me know if there is a problem. I will be talking to our physician on Monday when I have an appointment.
The house is starting to take shape. Tomorrow is laundry and Sunday I hope to put the oven on for self clean. I have the new toaster oven up and working. I lost our original air fryers due to the mice infestation. Actually, I lost most of the appliances on the counter because they went after the wiring. Thank goodness I saw what was happening and was able to save most by putting them into the trunk and back seat of my car. As I clean the counters, one by one, they will be returned. I cannot be without an air fryer and the replacement is still in it’s box waiting for me to put it to good use.
