Conversation – 21
Good Day Peeps in our Wonderful Community this is Thread number 21 of the Conversation Series. 😎😉
I created and started this thread nearly 10 years ago.
I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please stay safe. 🌹✨😎

Sheba, Sorry your girls aren’t feeling well. There are lots of strains of things going around now, Hubs still is saying no more Flying because it’s so…. well not fun. It might be more fun to get a camper and see the US. We had campers when my son was little, I was watching an old movie and it involved Flying. It looked so much more comfortable, except for the smoking haha,
It rained hard late this afternoon, and is in the forecast for the next few days.

I read your post from last night and today. I am in a tailspin as you can tell. I am also thinking about the posts from a few months back where the surgery on the East coast did not go well, but did get corrected later in CA. .For us, it is a catch 22. Hubby will be able to return to the other homes, but will need our physicians consent. With a catheter and not having an ability to stand or walk will be questionable for the house in Ct.. The one on Cape easy. One step, a long landing and then another step into the laundry room. The laundry room is on the main floor, so not a problem. Thank goodness for a ranch house. I would love nothing better than to get a second opinion in Boston. However, that may not be the case. The urologist feels that he is 99.9% sure that the surgery will be a success. Though the prostate is enlarged, it is not an issue. I agree with you on the Rehab. It has been an issue with me from day one. Thank goodness I go daily and as it turned out I had to scream for an urologist. After weeks not able to reach a live person I asked the head nurse to contact the Rehab’s physician for the right phone number and when he got it I made the call. It took a few months of tests to get to the bottom and hopefully we now have the correction that is needed. There is a small blockage affecting the bladder and once that is taken care of the catheter can be removed the following day. He will be in the hospital where he can be thoroughly watched. I also let the urologist’s assistant know that getting him to the bathroom is a concern. The rehab does not have the help that is sorely needed. Seeing my husband in bed on the weekends is a huge concern. His knees swell during the time he is in bed all day. Of course, the head nurse doesn’t work weekends unless needed. When my hubby started to itch all evening and I asked for cream they gave him a Benedryl. That helped for an hour or two, but it didn’t help the whelps on his back, legs and arms. Just before being ill I brought my new toy with me to Rehab. That is the Shark vacuum that you keep charging all day. Thankfully, hubby was in the wheelchair and I was able to strip the bed down to the mattress. Used that vacuum on everything. Today I will do that again and will spray the bed with clean boss and then use a bug spray that will kill the bugs and the eggs. Hubby should be feeling better in three days or less. When I do this, I will also ask for clean linens and pillow cases. But, you are right when you say that the Rehabs don’t do anything. But they do. They have someone in one of their beds that they need to stay in business. But my hubby is not ready for Assisted Living or a Convalescent home. He will do better with me and eating three good meals and snacks Well, enough said. I need to do some laundry and the time is getting to be late in the day. Talk, or rather will write later.
I don’t know what is going on with xango. I just hope she isn’t hospitalized somewhere and I also hope that her hubby is OK. It’s not like her to not say hello. I am actually about two hours away from her and it would be less if there wasn’t construction around. I wouldn’t think twice about getting into the car and checking that everything was OK.

Mind Stretching
Having a flexible mind makes navigating life much easier, as you are not thrown off course easily.
Flexibility is the capacity to bend without breaking, as well as a continual willingness to change or be changed in order to accommodate new circumstances. People with flexible minds are open to shifting their course when necessary or useful; they are not overly attached to things going the way they had planned. This enables them to take advantage of opportunities that a more rigid person would miss out on. It can also make life a lot more fun. When we are flexible, we allow for situations we could not have planned, and so the world continues to surprise and delight us.
Since reality is in a constant state of flux, it doesn’t make sense to be rigid or to cling to any one idea of what is happening or what is going to happen. We are more in tune with reality when we are flexible. Being in tune enables us to adjust to the external environment and other people as they change and grow. When we are rigid or stuck in our ways, instead of adjusting to the world around us we hunker down, clinging to a concept of reality rather than reality itself. When we do this, we cut ourselves off from life, and we miss out on valuable opportunities, as well as a lot of joy.
Just as we create flexibility in our bodies by stretching physically, we can create limberness in our minds by stretching mentally. Every day we have the opportunity to exercise our flexibility. We can do this in small ways such as taking a different route home from work or changing our exercise routine. On a larger scale, we can rearrange the furniture or redo a room in our house. If these are things we already do regularly, we can stretch our minds by imagining several different possibilities for how the next year will unfold. As we do this, our minds become more supple and open, and when changes come our way, we are able to accommodate and flow with the new reality. AMEN! 😎🎈

Good afternoon on the Gulf Coast of Florida and may this Wednesday be a good day
for you and hubby. 😎🎈I was blown away by your post from last night. I don’t know what to think about what
the nurse said to you but I will certainly be talking to his doctor and surgeon. How are you feeling today? Sorry you had a reaction to something you may have eaten.
If you are out and about keep it safe. Let me know how you are doing. Glad your neighbor
