Conversation – 21
Good Day Peeps in our Wonderful Community this is Thread number 21 of the Conversation Series. 😎😉
I created and started this thread nearly 10 years ago.
I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please stay safe. 🌹✨😎

In case things get crazy for me tomorrow, I wanted to wish you and your husband a Happy Thanksgiving and a great day. I know the great day will be the one when he comes home. I hope it’s a fun day at the rehab and the food is good. Knowing you, you will have a backup plan in the van, lol! Thanks for being a friend all these years.🦃🥰

Phew!! Glad you drove. However, the return trip does not sound too promising, though Denver knows how to shovel better than the Northeast. Too bad the car does not know how to navigate between the snowflakes.
It is pouring right now and thundering. The men showed up to plant two things that will have pink flowers all year round. Hopefully, it will bring a few butterflies and hummingbirds. The front of the house is a total disaster since I had someone take out the plants that looked horrible. So now I just have an empty area with that dreadful sandy soil. They will be back next week to plant some beautiful flowering plants that I will be able to cut now and then for a delightful bouquet. I love flowers. they will also get rid of the soil and will start from scratch.
I signed up for Thanksgiving to be with hubby. My original plan was to make a turkey at home with all the fixings and to make enough for his roommate. I did purchase a sherpa blanket of a different color from hubby’s and he loves it. That room is like an icicle at night and I am not exaggerating. Tomorrow’s dinner starts at 1pm and rest assure I will probably leave hours prior. He will be playing the piano which will be quite festive and will make him smile more. My guy is quite talented and would have probably made it on stage if not for rent and food. One of his sister’s attended Juilliard as a pianist. She was going to start giving performances but met someone who was a physician and married him. She is a lovely person and must be close to 90 today. Hubby is lots younger and of course the baby of the family. Hubby will have tons to look at when he returns home. At the moment I am looking at outdoor cushions for the outdoor settee and two chairs (all in white wicker) since the ones we had were tossed with the nodoor furniture. I think I found a cushion for the settee.
I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving and finding your sister is cancer free is a miracle and a feat that we all hope for. You have so much to be thankful for. By the way, have your son bring Poppy to face time. It will be a beautiful moment for the three of you/or four. The dogs have no idea where the sound is coming from and they do go room to room thinking you are home. A few are smart enough to figure it out and then the laughter. I know you miss your baby.
I have never judged a person. I try to be friendly as best as I can knowing what others have done to me. Hubby has had that as well. I would have loved meeting Leonard Bernstein, but knowing his cousin and her spouse was enough. They were friends with my parents and got together once per week. My mom played maj jong and canasta. Dad was poker.. They and their friends played for pennies. They were a lively group. I enjoyed their banter. and still miss them this very day.
Loved Ethel Merman and did not realize that we shared the same birthday until after she passed. She was down to earth. with no airs. What you saw is what she was. Suzanne Somers was the same. Having $$ and going to a prestige college is not everything. It’s who you are that brings me to the table. A huge ego will make me run the other way. Enough said.
Hmm….I wonder if Hubby remembers the following song?
Over the river, and through the wood,
To Grandfather’s house we go;
The horse knows the way
To carry the sleigh
Through the white and drifted snow.Over the river, and through the wood,
To Grandfather’s house away!
We would not stop
For doll or top,
For ‘t is Thanksgiving Day.Over the river, and through the wood,
Oh, how the wind does blow!
It stings the toes,
And bites the nose,
As over the ground we go.Over the river, and through the wood,
With a clear blue winter sky,
The dogs do bark,
And children hark,
As we go jingling by.Over the river, and through the wood,
To have a first-rate play —
Hear the bells ring
Ting a ling ding,
Hurra for Thanksgiving day!Over the river, and through the wood —
No matter for winds that blow;
Or if we get
The sleigh upset
Into a bank of snow.Over the river, and through the wood,
To see little John and Ann;
We will kiss them all,
And play snowball,
And stay as long as we can.Over the river, and through the wood,
Trot fast my dapple gray!
Spring over the ground,
Like a hunting-hound,
For ‘t is Thanksgiving day!Over the river, and through the wood,
And straight through the barnyard gate;
We seem to go
Extremely slow,
It is so hard to wait.Over the river, and through the wood —
Old Jowler hears our bells;
He shakes his pow, [sic]
With a loud bow-wow,
And thus the news he tells.Over the river, and through the wood —
When Grandmother sees us come,
She will say, Oh dear,
The children are here,
Bring a pie for every one.Over the river, and through the wood —
Now Grandmothers cap I spy!
Hurra for the fun!
Is the pudding done?
Hurra for the pumpkin pie!This was actually a poem by Lydia Maria Child. The poem appeared in “Flowers for Children, ” 1844. Happy Thanksgiving.
Even though it’s actually a Christmas song, we used to just do the first couple of stanzas just to make it for Thanksgiving.

Let It Roll off Our Back
One of the most difficult challenges in life is learning not to take things to heart and hold on to it. Especially when we’re younger, or if we’re very sensitive, we take so much of what comes our way to heart. This can be overwhelming and unproductive if it throws us off balance on a regular basis. When we are feeling criticized or attacked from all directions, it becomes very difficult for us to recover ourselves so that we can continue to speak and act our truth. This is when we would do well to remember the old saying about letting certain things roll off us, like water off a duck’s back.
When we are criticized or attacked it is important to not take it into our heart space.
This is when we would do well to remember the old saying about letting certain things roll off us, like water off a duck’s back.Most of the time, the attacks and criticisms of others have much more to do with them and how they are feeling than with us. If we get caught up in trying to adjust ourselves to other people’s negative energy, we lose touch with our core. In fact, in a positive light, these slings and arrows offer us the opportunity to strengthen our core sense of self, and to learn to dodge and deflect other people’s misdirected negativity. The more we do this, the more we are able to discern what belongs to us and what belongs to other people. With practice, we become masters of our energetic integrity, refusing to serve as targets for the disowned anger and frustration of the people around us.
Eventually, we will be able to hear the feedback that others have to offer, taking in anything that might actually be constructive, and releasing that which has nothing to do with us. First, though, we tend ourselves compassionately by recognizing when we can’t take something in from the outside without hurting ourselves. This is when we make like a duck, shaking it off and letting it roll off our back as we continue our way in the world.

Good morning I think on the Gulf Coast of Florida. 😘✨🌹Oodie very interesting with
how your cousin think of her relationships with people. I have worked and known the cream
of the crop ie. Leonard Bernstein, Ella Fitzgerald and Ethel Merman at a very young age.
I treated them like people and to me they were like my grandparents. I don’t pick friends
for what they have but what is in their hearts and how they treat people. ✨🌹I am never interested in other people’s social status. The women I write to everyday are
the type of people I love being around just women like me who like to have a good time.I could talk to Xango all day about fresh bread and coffee. I could go with Taci about her
wonderful 5 mile hikes, I could talk to Shoelady about sports and her favorite drinks,
Oodie with you well you cover a lot of ground you know we could go on talking. I don’t
care about your size or anything else that is personal all I care about is how we all get
each other it is my forte never to pry I know people read this thread and some things
is not anyone else’s concern. ✨ Oodie I will have a little time later this evening and I will
check back in.Meanwhile how are you? Glad the Feast will happen at the Rehab that will be a nice
social gathering. I hope they will let your husband play the piano. 😎💕Oodie we drove here wish us luck on getting home. ✨
I have a bullseye view of the mountains from my room in the house.
