Conversation – 20
Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is number 20 out of the
series. I created and started this thread nearly 10 years ago.
I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe. 🌹✨😎

Wake Me Up When September Ends – Green Day
Summer has come and passed
The innocent can never last
Wake me up when September ends
Like my fathers come to pass
Seven years has gone so fast
Wake me up when September ends
Here comes the rain again
Falling from the stars
Drenched in my pain again
Becoming who we are
As my memory rests
But never forgets what I lost
Wake me up when September ends
Summer has come and passed
The innocent can never last
Wake me up when September ends
Ring out the bells again
Like we did when spring began
Wake me up when September ends
Here comes the rain again
Falling from the stars
Drenched in my pain again
Becoming who we are
As my memory rests
But never forgets what I lost
Wake me up when September ends
Summer has come and passed
The innocent can never last
Wake me up when September ends
Like my father’s come to pass
Twenty years has gone so fast
Wake me up when September ends
Wake me up when September ends
Wake me up when September ends -

Sorry girls Recaptcha is at it again I am so tired of this. I mean seriously I have cleaned out
the cookies and caches this is the only site that does this. Shizzle. -
I am glad you weathered the storm I wish I could have some of that fresh bread and a cup
of fresh coffee. I do have another child with Covid-19 I just can’t catch a break. -
@Sheba 🌻🌻🌻🌻
Hello Sheba, Sorry you are having problems with this site.
It started as a beautiful sunny day after all the rains yesterday. But in the afternoon the clouds came in and the thunder started. We had a gentle rain and the day is still cloudy.I hope your child recovers well and soon he/she will be feeling better 😊.
I suppose Covid-19 is here to stay, just like the seasonal flu. Yes it’s much more dangerous and if we don’t use extreme caution we will be getting more often than not.The Sun is trying to come back out, yesterday the Sun set was just marvelous. The colors were so beautiful, at night the full moon was stunning.
Take care Sheba 🌹

WE have three daughters and one son and this is our first born daughter the one who went

almost three weeks ago. Anyway she is tired and have a bad headache.Hey enjoy the moon tonight. Xango when will your husband be back and in the mean time

I hope your home did not have additional damage.Oodie you are still trying to get over Hurricane Ian.
Stay safe and enjoy your day. ✨

I stayed at a Sleep Inn. I started looking at hotels Monday and everything was booked. Tuesday morning is when I checked and I surmise some people had cancelled. I was able to get the Sleep Inn which is not one of the best hotels to stay in, but I had no choice. I was pleasantly surprised. The lobby was cheerful and even had a sitting area. It was situated off the main road and in the back that was surrounded by trees and shrubs and flowering plants. Next door was the Ritz Garden. My room was spacious and everything was in working order. The hotel is in the process of being renovated. It was a very relaxed atmosphere.
I was up at 7am and out the door by 9AM. Went straight home. Relaxed a bit outside and met with the neighbor next door. Then got some things together and went directly to the Rehab. Hubby was in the TV room fast asleep in the wheelchair. I immediately went up to him and blasted him for sleeping on my time. He was absolutely stunned. No one told him that I was safe. He had been a nervous wreck and ever so glad to see me. First thing I told him was that the house was intact. I had found out last night in a phone call to the head nurse that they had not evacuated the Rehab. Everyone stayed put. Guess I was concerned that they had gone to Orlando. Hubby was hungry around 4pm and wanted a pizza. I ordered a pizza and had it delivered along with an appetizer of calamari. Both were delicious. His dinner arrived from the Rehab and it was a Mexican dish. Pulled chicken with black beans, Spanish rice and taco shells.
I rook a smidgeon and it was good and told him to give it a try. He ate the whole thing including the appetizer and one slice of pizza. He was very coherent. Later he wanted to return to his room and when we got there one of the aides/lpns helped him into bed. He fell asleep as soon as his head touched the pillow. I watched some TV and must have fallen asleep in the chair. A nurse awakened me. It was after 10 pm. Hubby was awake and hungry. I cut one of the slices of pizza and he decided to finish the slice. Then he had the watermelon cubes as I got ready to leave. I was amazed that there was absolutely no sign of dementia. I hope and pray that it stays this way. Now, I will get some rest. Need to put some things away. At least I have something to smile about. And, yes, I am again watching the tropics. Three more storms out there. A never ending battle during the summer months. I just hope they stay out to sea.
Never ending with Covid. Glad your daughter is on th e road to recovery. Just hope that there are no repercussions following. The nurses at the Rehab think hubby’s dementia stems from Covid. There are no signs of strokes or anything going on in the brain after some of the tests.
I am also having problems with recaptcha. Hate it.
-
Good morning yeah another daughter with Covid-19 daughter is telling me her mouth
taste like metal with the meds. Looks like changes here in our wonderful community
are coming I hope they are good. 🌹Hey Happy Trails if you are able to. OZ will be in the triple digits this weekend.
-
Sheba, sorry to hear that your daughter has a metallic tasting mouth. Hope she feels better soon. Oz sounds hot. We are hot but not Oz hot. Skipped the hike again and felt it was best overall but I still keep busy with cleaning etc.. to get my steps.
Wonder when or if Kittengirl will come back. I hope she is doing ok after the shock of her son’s passing.
Btw, G’s jackets are awesome, have 2.
Have a great night! -
I hope you are having a good day. The Recaptcha is a mess and I am so tired of cleaning
out caches and cookies.I hope you mom and sister are having a good time on the way home. The weather has
been a mess everywhere. -
A perfect day in the ‘burgh, sunshine, mid 70’s and a little breeze.😎 Good for relaxing on the deck. But starting tomorrow it be warmer and climb into the 90’s for the first half of next week.🔥
I guess mom and sis are having a good time since I did not hear from them. Hopefully the waters are calm.🌫
Is this a second daughter with covid or the same one from last week? ‘Tis the season, I see numbers are up again.😣 I thought about that at the wedding last weekend since it was indoors.
The recaptcha has to be a HSN problem since, like you, I have no trouble on other sites. Just like tickets not showing up, people having trouble with games loading, etc. Maybe something with the new changes taking place. I try once and if it takes clicking on 30 pictures, I don’t post.
Hope you have a calm evening, hugs to you and Poppy.🤗💖
-
Good evening my husband and I were enjoying the full moon and it is beautiful. 😘✨💕
Lady this is our oldest daughter the one who went to Hawaii last month.I think this is an uptick in the Covid-19 we all follow all the rules but it happens.
Hey enjoy this beautiful weather OZ weather will change starting this weekend return
to Hades. Shizzle! -

Enjoying Your Age
Wishing to be younger or older is a denial of the joys that have been and the joys yet to be, as well as the beauty of your life in the present.
In each stage of life, there are wonderful experiences one can savor and valuable insights one can absorb. Every new decade and, in fact, every new year brings with it wisdom, transformation, and growth, as well as ends and beginnings. Many people, however, believe that there is one age that eclipses the others. They expend energy trying to reach it and, once it has passed, trying to retain it. But wishing to be younger or older is a denial of the joys that have been and the joys yet to be, as well as the beauty of your life in the present. Holding on to one age can make it difficult to appreciate each new milestone you reach. Taking pleasure in the delights of your age, whether you are in your 20s, 40s, 60s, or 80s, can help you see the magnificence and usefulness of the complex seasons of your life.
Each new year gifted to us by the universe is replete with exciting and unfamiliar experiences. In our 20s, we can embrace the energy of youth and the learning process, knowing it’s okay to not have all the answers. As we move through our third decade, we grow more self-assured as the confusion of our young adulthood melts away. We can honor these years by putting aside our fears of aging and concentrating instead on solidifying our values and enjoying our growing emotional maturity. In our 40s, we become conscious of the wisdom we have attained through life experience and are blessed with the ability to put it to good use. We are not afraid to explore unfamiliar territory or to change. In our 50s, we tend to have successfully navigated our midlife reevaluations and have prioritized our lives. In the decades beyond, we discover a greater sense of freedom than we have ever known and can truly enjoy the memory of all we’ve seen and done.
Try to enjoy the age you are at now, for each age presents its own unique wisdom to savor.

Happy Birthday! This picture is fab!

I love this. She is amazing.
I’m glad you started a new thread. I have no patience and get easily annoyed when I have to scroll and scroll and scroll to get to the next individual post.
I hope you are well.
-
I am doing very well it’s our children that have had covid-19. My husband and I had it too.
Dragon this is the way the thread has been for the last ten years.Actually it is easy if you read it every day. I always start with the day and date.
Everything is updated every day. 😎💕 I still do the Heidi Daus Thread and help
Oodiebom in Trivia and I have never missed a game even during cancer, covid
and death in my family. This is my little thread to have a little fun on. Hey how are you doing?
I have been concerned about you and have not seen you in Trivia.I did see your thread about not having Trivia after September. I wonder what is coming.
Hey check in more often. ✨ -
ShebaDaus, I messed up. I thought this was a different thread I was posting to.
I’m so sorry your family is having to deal with COVID. I have been fortunate so far.
I did get rear-ended yesterday. My old(97) Ford Explorer was able to withstand the impact. You are right. It’s always something.
Take care, see you Friday.

Good afternoon in Florida I hope all is well with you. How are things going so far?
I hear the Tampa Airport will be open soon.
I would have some coffee and your Cuban Bread sounds good to me.
Stay well my friend and check in when you can.
-
Xango, glad the storm wasn’t too bad in your area.
-
Hello Taci, I hope you are well 😊.
Thank you for your post. We dodged it this time, I have been through several here in Florida. Funny thing is when I lived in Jacksonville, FL ten minutes from the beach never went through any hurricane at all. But iafter moving to Orlando I went through four.
I hope you are keeping well. Take care and be safe. 🌺🌺 -
@Sheba 🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻
Hi Sheba, everything ok here. Our area only had storms. We just had rain and wind nothing like last year, very mild compared to Ian.
I am just somewhat tired from staying up and very little sleep.
I don’t have to cook anything today. I roasted a chicken yesterday with vegetables.
Also cooked some oxtails for the freezer. I have plenty of fruit, so my meals will be chicken and fruit.
I hope Mr. Oodiebom is back from Orlando. And Oodiebom is able to see him. Also that their home was unharmed.Take care Sheba 🌹
-
Hi xango and thanks for your concern. I am staying another night. It is still raining on and off and thunder is in the background as I type. Have tried several times to reach the head nurse and all I get is his voice mail. Have gone to the rehab website and the storm info is still runing. I assume they may return tonight or tomorrow morning. I hope to check out before 10 am tomorrow. I forgot to add my thyroid pills for Thursday. I also disconnected the WiFi and A/C before leaving. I was afraid of losing electricity and having a power surge. Thankfully, the storm was nothing alike Ian, though it was similar in direction. Also, the wind direction seemed to be more northerly which meant my home was. Or seemed safe. I am now praying that we are done with this weather until ……..🌋🌋🏝🏜🏖⛪🎺🎶🎵
Sure miss being with hubby during this time. I know you miss yours. Take care xango.
-
Good afternoon on the Gulf Coast of Florida. Oodie have your plans changed again?
I don’t know if you are on the move are staying put. I know you have heard it a million
times stay safe.I hope you are able to check on your husband and property. Let me know when you can
how things are going.I hope all is going well for you. ✨
-
Hi Oodie, I hope you are resting in your hotel room, you deserve a break from all the work you do.
I hope your husband is back to the rehab from Orlando by now and you are able to see him. Also no damage to your home this time.
We only had some rain and very little wind, nothing like last year. It has rained off and on throughout the day. But now the Sun is trying to peek through the clouds.Take care and be safe ❤️
-
@sheba2011 and xango
Here,s one for the record books. I finally reached the head nurse and found that the rehab never evacuated. Even the website said they evacuated. It would have been nice to have seen hubby before and after the storm. Well, at least I know he is OK. I will run home to check everything inside and to replug and take the thyroid pill. Will drive to the rehab soon after. Not going to stick around or do any work outside.
I am still at the hotel. TV has been working sporadically due to a satellite connection. The hotel never lost electricity. I had enough food for breakfast and all meals for today. Think I will have fun with a Kindle jigsaw.
-
I don’t know what to say I can’t believe your husband never left the rehab center.
Alright let us know how he is doing.Oodie I am glad you are staying the extra day because you don’t know what you will
find at home. I bet it felt good to be away if only for a couple of days. I hate it is under
these weather conditions.Oodie take a look in the Arcade something new and different is coming the notice
is on the Rewards Page. Trivia will be no more after the end of September.I wonder what is coming this could be good. ✨
Add your Manuka Honey and this will be right as rain. ✨
-
Oodie, glad you and hubs are safe! Crazy story but sounds like some good, caring Nurses.
-
No more points is a good thing and continuing with the Arcade is fun and a great way to relax and unwind. Hope they do not take community down. I may start something in lieu thereof for all who came together on Friday nights. We have a month to make a decision.
The head nurse stayed all night at the rehab. I didn’t ask why he did not say anything. He may have tried to reach me. My cell was off entirely except when I used it. I disconnected the landline and the WiFi before leaving. There actually was no way for anyone to leave a message. Maybe that’s a good thing. Anyway, I will leave the house as soon as things are in working order. I am just so thankful that hubby is ok.
No garbage pickup until Friday. Recycle will restart next week. I will start with the lanai on Friday. I cannot wait to try those rugs. Furniture will be washed and c!earned thoroughly and I will power wash the lanai with a good disinfectant. Just hope the weather will be favorable. Thankfully, the rugs are for outdoors and supposedly will not take long to dry out.
A new beginning in the Arcade and in our home. WOW!!!!!
-
Good morning in S. California I am keeping a close eye on our kids and family in
Georgia. ✨✨Here is to Happy Trails if you can. 🎶🎶
-
Sheba, are you kids near the path of the storm?
I know they are all prepared. Hopefully things will be over soon. -
All they are getting in their area is rain and that is bad enough so far so good.
I have another daughter with Covid-19 she is on meds and is fully vaxxed. My nerves are on edge with this Covid-19 Beast I wish it will leave my family alone.
Taci did you get your hike in? I have been outside watching the moon.
Poppy is enjoy it too. Taci in life it seems it is always something. ✨
-
Sheba, Oh my, another daughter with Covid! What is going on out there? Was she at the Concert as well? Hope she has a speedy recovery. Read an article about how some people with Covid do not ever test positive. It was interesting.
I watched the weather channel coverage on and off about the hurricane. It’s a lot for people in it’s path.
Well, no hike again, it’s just too hot and I am not good with high temps. I can’t live in FL ever or the SW and hubs sighs as he wants to move to AZ, but I just can’t do it, not yet anyways.
The good news is my new bed frame and mattress get delivered Friday (had this set prior to knowing my husband-true!). The bad news is our solar went out for the 1st time ever. The good news 🙂 is its covered by the company. The bad news is it costs a lot of money every day we don’t have it. Like you and Dragon say… always something. We just roll with it.
Regards to Mr. Poppy. -
Good day in the ‘burgh. I am keeping an eye on GA now. So far our kids are alright.
Have you heard from your mom and sister yet? I know things are hectic right now with
the weather.Oz is alright today I am praying this storm will be over and soon.
Sending positive vibes to you and Jake’s Canvas. 😘✨

Your Body Is a Temple
Like yin and yang, spirituality and physicality are two sides of creating genuine well-being.
The popular phrase “your body is a temple” shares a concept found in all the spiritual traditions throughout the world. As a metaphor, it signifies the body’s role as a vessel that houses our soul. Our physical body is the vehicle that carries our life force, and through it, we experience the world around us and interact with others.
Imagining our body as a temple can inspire us to be more mindful and loving in the ways that we treat ourselves. When we acknowledge that our spiritual self deserves a well-cared-for physical home, it motivates us to tend to our body’s needs, to give it respect, and to allow the body to express its true authenticity.
There are many ways we can treat our bodies with love: choosing nourishing, wholesome foods — we eat with consciousness and care; prioritizing our sleep and times of rest — we can recharge and feel ready to meet life’s challenges; moving and exercising our muscles, limbs, and cardiovascular system — we build strength and confidence; being attentive to our body’s aging and evolution — we give it the healing and care to support our soul’s radiance.
Spirituality and physicality are both needed. Like yin and yang, they are two sides of living a fulfilling life. To neglect one in favor of the other leaves us feeling off-balance. By caring for our physical health, we cultivate more inner peace and happiness. It is through this harmonious flow that we create genuine well-being. ✨✨✨

Good afternoon I know the weather is rather busy in your area. I am glad you are prepared
and have supplies. Please stay safe and check in when you can. I pray you keep your
power.✨🌹Thinking of you dear friend. -
@Sheba🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻
Hello and how are you doing?
Got good results yesterday from the doctor. I stopped in Walmart on the way home. Got some groceries and the Cuban bread I like a lot. Even though I bake bread, I can’t get that bread just right, it’s so fluffy and tastes great. I also had ordered from Kroger to be delivered today. I did modified the order and removed items I got in Walmart. The heavy items such as water, milk etc, I just left for it to be delivered.
I am getting ready for the hurricane, cooking and baking today. Getting the outside ready so nothing flies away. Hubby is in Minnesota visiting his mother. So it’s me and the hurricane, but I am used to this. Had many hurricanes by myself.
Not sure if the power will stay on once the high winds hit us. Last year we lost power.Take care Sheba 🌹
-
I don’t like you being alone either. I am glad you know how to handle things during these
storm season.Glad you had a good doctor’s report. YAY! ✨🌹
I am watching this storm play out just stay safe. Check in when you can.
Praying everyone will be alright.
-
Good afternoon on the Gulf Coast of Florida. Oodie I am glad you got to see your husband.
I know he does not want to be away from you too long. I do hope you check into the hotel
for power and safety. I hate you being alone at a time like this. ✨🌹Oodie you never know what a storm might do mother nature can be tricky.
Please check in when you can and let me know if you are at your home or in the Hotel.Praying that you stay safe and no major property damage. I remember when you brought
those rugs you have placed in your living room. So much is going on in your area.Oodie your State is all over all the major media. I hope this is not as bad as Ian.
-
I arrived at the hotel/motel around 2 pm after making a stop at the farmer’s market. Had a huge yen for a meatball grinder and it was on sale this week. Saw they also had a lobster sa!ad roll and could not resist. Happy person I am. Now have meals for two days. No cooking needed.😀😀😀
When I left home it was partly cloudy and continued to be that way when i arrived at the market.. As I exited the market a very light rain with dark clouds coming our way from the ocean. I had time to put everything in the car and be in the driver’s seat before the delugre. Good news it didn’t last long and I was able to see the road ahead without a problem.
Though the storm is following a similar path as ian, it does not carry the same punch. I do not expect any damage but one never knows until the return. It will be mainly a rain event. The wind will be no more than 50 mph at any given time. There will be storm surges along the coastline with some flooding. I signed up for two nights just in case. Using this time as a mini awaycation which I sorely need. Definitely will check the house tomorrow and may visit hubby if he has returned from Orlando.
-
Change of plans. Checking out tomorrow by noon. Last time for coastal flooding is 1:30 am. Will check on hubby when I get home. I assume he will be returning after breakfast. 😎😎😎🏜🏜🏝🏝🐩🐩🐈🐈🍉🍉🍌🍌🍓🌽🌽🎶🎹🎹🎵🎼🎼🎷🎻🎺🎙🎤
-
I want you to take a warm shower and go get up in the bed turn to a nice movie or
read a good book and enjoy your eats.Let tomorrow be what tomorrow will be as far as the storm goes.
Oodie I know this too shall pass. This is your time so enjoy it.
I think your husband will be very happy to see you tomorrow. 💕
-
Good morning in S. California I would stay indoors today. Enjoy a good book and hit
the trails when it cools down. 😎✨Looks like Florida is going to get hit and I am just hoping no major damages.
Taci it is all over the news on every channel on the Telly. Prayers are with the people
of Florida.Wishing you and your family a cooler day. 🌹😘
-
Sheba, to those in FL (Xango and Oodie), stay safe and it sounds like you are all prepared.
-
I will be glad when this storm pass. I know the girls are ready for this.
The world is watching this storm.
-
Good afternoon in the ‘burgh. All this weather is nerve wrecking it is going to hit
parts of Georgia too. Our kids are prepared as you never know what is going to
happen. How is your mother and sister doing on their Cruise? I would eat and mingle on the Ship.
Lady how are you doing? Oz is cooler today but those triple digits will be back beginning
tomorrow.Sending a cool hug to you and Jake’s Canvas. 😘😎✨
-
Another watch the TV weather day. Seems never-ending this year with major events. I’m weary just watching let alone being part of it.😟 Saying lots of prayers.🙏 We are having a nice week but temps rising over the weekend, may hit 90’s by Monday.
Haven’t heard from mom and sis but probably tomorrow since they will be in port. I have a feeling they may have some rough waters on their return to Baltimore.😕
My neighbor across the road is having heart surgery on Friday so spent some time with him today on the pros and cons. Hope I made him feel better and offered a helping hand for whatever he and his wife may need.🤞
Hang in there, my friend. Prayers again for all our family and friends to our south.🙏💖🙏
-
I just talked to my sister in Georgia and they are raining hard there.
I am saying prayers too. Triple digits will be back by the weekend.
I am wishing you a nice night. 🌹✨

What Makes People Tick?
Many people are very different from ourselves and coming to a place of acceptance can make the road easier.
All people have their own way of being in the world. It is easiest to comprehend this basic yet profound fact when we consider that every human being on the planet occupies a distinct role in the universe. We grow up in different environments, affected by a unique range of influences. The preferences, values, and beliefs we embrace are frequently related intimately to our origins. And the need to individualize our experiences is instinctive, as doing so enables us to cope when we must face challenges on our own. Consequently, each of us has developed a perspective that is uniquely ours. Interacting peacefully and constructively with people from all walks of life is a matter of first understanding where they are coming from. Then we can adjust our expectations so that we avoid making undue assumptions about what they are about.
In the face of emerging interpersonal conflict, it is easy to assume that others are being difficult, unreasonable, or stubborn. We are apt to grow frustrated when someone in our environment does not share our opinions or feel compelled to support us in our endeavors. It is likely that the individual or individuals before us may simply possess differing notions with regard to what is and what is not important in this life. We can ease the tension that exists between us by reaffirming our belief in the fundamental right of all beings to determine their own destinies. To foster a harmonious relationship, we need to do our best to relate to the unique universes they inhabit. And as we discover what makes them tick, our ability to find a mode of interaction that is pleasing to both of us is enhanced.
When there are barriers keeping you from connecting with someone else, think of questions you can ask them to gain a more thorough understanding of their point of view. You may discover that in addition to the differences in perspective dividing you, they are subject to insecurities and other personal issues that influence their way of seeing the world. It is likely that you will never fully grasp the myriad complexities embodied by humanity, but you can go a long way toward encouraging mutually satisfying relations by reaching out to others in the spirit of sympathetic comprehension. AMEN! ✨✨

Sheba, lovely sunflowers, maybe next year i will try to grow a few?
Thanks for the note about walking around. I’m sure you can walk long distances with all the dog walking and such. Generally i am good for 5 miles. After that I get cranky. Guess I won’t be doing any marathons. We have heat advisories so I skipped the walk / hike. Hope all is well. in Oz.
Sounds like FL will have some storms. -
