Conversation – 20
Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is number 20 out of the
series. I created and started this thread nearly 10 years ago.
I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe. 🌹✨😎

I forgot to mention that I picked up the Jersey Shore necklace and I wrote a review. Atlantic City was a place we used to frequent during my February vacation from school. The drive from our home to the area took many long hours, but so much fun while we were there. I used to love watching the waves hitting the piers while I was standing on the boardwalk. A couple of times we were there in the fall when the Miss America pageant was being held. On one of those trips Dad won a Polaroid Camera which is still in working condition today. Another time we were there was soon after recovering from having all wisdom teeth removed and then the next day found out I had the mumps as well. This may have been spring break. While gazing into the windows of the stores that were opened, I fell in love with a Teddy bear. This was one of the largest bears I ever set my eyes on. Little did I know that my parents had purchased him and was surprised to find him in our hotel room later that evening. I recently gave that bear to one of my family members for their child. Love that it is now with that family and they are taking real good care of him.

What a day this has been. Started out getting the garbage ready. I had put a couple of bags in the recycle bin so the animals wouldn’t pull them apart. As I was going down the outdoor stairs, the door closed behind me. Tried to turn the knob to the door and found I was locked out. Still was able to get the garbage into the container and then moved it to the area for pickup. Then went to my neighbor’s home and explained the situation. She drove me to the main office where they had a duplicate key and also some paperwork to complete since I was in the throws of redoing the front of the house and it needed to be approved by the HOA board. So, I managed to get back into the house completed the paperwork and used the van to return to the office. When I returned home decided to sit outside for a few minutes and while doing so it started to rain a bit. This is when I happened to look up at the new roof on the lanai and saw places where water was coming through. This is not the first time I saw that the inside of the lanai was wet. I just assumed it was the wind blowing through the screens. But, for some reason I had overlooked the fact that the water was puddling in the middle of the lanai and not at the edges. Tomorrow I will be contacting the building inspector to see if someone can take a look and give me the info I need. Now I wonder about the roof in our den. I do have roofers in mind, but want a professional to help with some answers so I don’t make the same mistake again.
I cannot get over hubby. He showed me tonight that he is able to bend one of his knees to fit atop the other knee. He has not been able to do this for months. The Head Nurse also told me that he will be starting physical therapy again, so maybe a ramp will not be needed. He goes for tests next week at the hospital which is necessary prior to the bladder surgery the end of November. My doctor’s appointment was cancelled because of the hurricane. It is now next week.
I have made the decision to purchase another mattress for the Master Bedroom. We both love the Stearn & Foster, but the size is too large in case he starts falling again. The mattress and box spring will go onto the bed in the guest bedroom so it won’t be a total loss. I discussed this with hubby today and though disappointed, he felt that would be the best decision. Before making that a permanent move, I will see how the mattress looks without the box spring. We are dealing with an extra two inches. I think that mattress is 14.5″ and others are 12″. I just need to see how close to the floor this one is. Definitely will also be looking for an airbed as a precaution rather than a bedrail and one I can hide under the bed.
I did stop at the Farmer’s Market. One of the items I picked up was a package of 6 bagels from NYC. They make their own lox and I also threw a container into the carriage with one Vidalia. The Market also makes their own cream cheese and I picked up the lox with cream cheese. When I arrived at the rehab and found hubby in the TV room after searching for a bit, I asked if he wanted an after dinner snack. Took out the bagel and added t he cream cheese with lox and the lox from the Market. A huge smile came across his face. His dad owned and operated a deli and he sold the NY water bagels in his store. Hubby said these were the best and the closest to the looks and flavor what they used to purchase. Chock one up for me, myself and I.

Hello Taci, thank you 😊. I love the water, love to swim. Enjoy the Ocean, but the slightest movement on the water in a boat I get terribly sick. Even on a cruise ship, I took a cruise with my mother in 1992, it was the Disney Big Red Boat. And then again in the early 2000’s with my hubby. It’s been a while since I took a cruise, haven’t been in the new gaint ships they have now.
Enjoy your week Taci. -
@Shoelady
Hi there, thank you 😊. I actually had to do the math this year. Though it was 36 years, but it turned out to be 37😆.
Here’s wishing you and yours a great week. -
Here’s to safe travels. Here’s to a great time with tons of wonderful memories and pictures to ooh and ah over.
I can sympathize on the cruises. During my single days I took two single cruises. I was in.my cabin from day one. Dramamine was supposed to be my friend. Famous last words. I learned a lesson the hard way. Then came Florida and hubby wanted to cruise. So a friend found a five day adventure with two stops. I gave in. His wife and I spent the first 12hours in our room. Took the pills to no avail, but was able to down hot tea. After that I was fine and when we got off we four were planning the next one. We have enjoyed many adventures since then. The first night is sometimes the hardest and that is one reason we head to the Lido Deck for dinner. Great for leaving your sinus issues behind. Since I hate packing and unpacking so much we now find cruises that go 10 days or more. Someday give it another chance.

Good afternoon in Oz. Nice weather all week. This should be a much calmer week for me, I hope. Running to mom’s tomorrow and all day Friday. Baking a berry pie this afternoon🥧, hubs had a craving and I didn’t feel like driving to the store or bakery.
Talked to sis yesterday and she has a cold.🤧 At least she can relax and not have to run around for mom right now. My husband has one also so ’tis the season. Need to get my Fall wreath on the door this week.🍁🍂
You and Poppy tread lightly and carry a big stick!🦯 My husband caught a coon last week that was tearing up the yard.🦝 Puts the cage in his car and releases it in the woods a couple miles from home. I hope that’s it before winter. My two groundhogs are getting very chubby, I guess getting ready for hibernation.🦔

Your daughter and sister are going to Greece, It sounds like a great time. Have you been there? Did you travel a lot in your singing /modeling days?
