Conversation – 20

Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is number 20 out of the
series. I created and started this thread nearly 10 years ago.
I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe. 🌹✨😎

@Sheba 🌻🌻🌻🌻
Hello Sheba, I am glad you and your husband had a nice few days to enjoy the holiday.
Brazil is still in Winter, it will go into Spring when we start Autumn 🍂. They still have a kind of crazy weather. Some days are cold, some are hot. Lately there has been lots and lots of rain in the Southern part where my cousin lives.
Speaking of my cousin, unfortunately she lost her kitty cat over the weekend. He was only three years old. He had some problems with urinary infection, was given medication and was getting better. But on Saturday morning he passed on. She would often send me videos of him. My cousin and I both had a good cry over the phone.I read first Lady Jill Biden has Covid-19, this is the second time I believe.
I am still masking up when I am out and about in crowds.Take care Sheba 🌹

Oodie, You are on it and glad your hubs has you looking out for him. Not sure what they do in FL, and it won’t help now but for the future, you can get vaccines for it. Wishing you a safe and good day. Hope hubs recovers from this soon.

Hot, hot, hot in the ‘burgh.🔥🔥 A/C stopped working yesterday so called my godchild this morning and he came about an hour ago, replaced a part and all is now good, yay! Never fails, breaks on a holiday when the temps are in the 90’s.😝 This weekend we will be in the 70’s.
All went well on the cruise. Last day was a little choppy sailing back to Baltimore. Sis is a gambler and won enough to break even for the whole week.🎰🃏
Busy end of the week with appointments so relaxing some today. Did wash some rugs so they could dry outside in the heat and sun. You and Poppy stay cool.🧊 Sending hugs.🤗💖 Recaptcha still goofy for me.😵

My step-father had pneumonia a few times and recovered. Please be optimistic. Praying for you both.🙏🙌🙏

I received a phone call from the head nurse/unit manager. Hubby is resting comfortably. He had a chest xray and it showed fluid in the lungs which is pneumonia. This is what I was afraid of initially because the vents are right above his head. I have since found some sweatshirts to keep him warm and two have hoodies. Also found a couple of baseball caps which I will insist he wear whenever he is under the A/C. Being he isn’t walking and is either in bed or a wheelchair, I went online and found a couple of things we can start doing. These will include arm stretches, doing ballerina things with the arms. Movement of the neck and when in bed side rolls. I will also recommend knee bends and those could help him regain muscle control in the bad knee. I am not a physical therapist, but am very surprised that they didn’t include this in therapy sessions. I also have a couple of cans of Healthy Choice which I will bring with me along with his favorite sugar free soda. I am about to contact the Urologist to see what fruit juices will be OK for the kidneys and bladder. We both get leg and hand cramps and that is low magnesium.. I will be leaving within an hour for a stop at Lowes and then on to the rehab. Thank goodness that Lowes is on the way. Just hope the traffic on the Interstate is not bumper to bumper. I am hopeful he will recover and so glad that I noticed his difficulty in breathing and mentioned it to the nurse. Actually, I started noticing this Sunday afternoon and thought it was a sinus infection. But, yesterday it was worst and extremely concerning. Hubby felt that nothing was wrong, but his face gave a different indication. He is currently on oxygen and that was one reason why I rushed to the rehab. He was awake when I got there and surprised I wasn’t home. He actually wanted me there all night, but the rehab said No. On the way home I got a second wind and was up past 6am this morning. I did get some sleep after the head nurse’s phone call. No word from the A/C people and I will make a call to them shortly. I know pneumonia can be cured. I will be going the extra mile. Just like I did with Covid. Oh yes, I did find the Manuka Honey Cough Syrup. It’s called PRI and you can find it in Amazon. It’s all natural ingredients and it is awesome. I will have my Kindle Fire with me and will update either from the Rehab or from the computer at home. To keep from getting too emotional I have two jigsaw puzzles in Kindle ready to go. It should keep me sane or whatever sane is. Take care Sheba and enjoy your afternoon with Poppy. Oh, on my way to Rehab last night, I finally got a glimpse of the moon. It was awesome and I thought of you and Poppy walking in the moonlight. I better get going. As usual, I am running behind. May skip Lowes and stop on my way home. Now to shower and dress and I will be on my way.

Contacted the A/C people and said to leave voice mail since I will be at the rehab early. Then went direct to rehab and was surprised to find hubby in another location. The head nurse/unit mgr said that hubby is in a temporary location and he is taking my advice to have the room fumigated. All furniture, beds and anything that is movable will be sent to another location to be cleaned and sanitized. They will try to see if they can steam clean the mattress as well as the entire bed. I had mentioned that steam not only kills the bugs but any eggs as well. The room was in the process of being repainted, but now everything will be taken down including the new window treatments and the separa tion curtains. This process will be done to all 200 rooms. All patients are being reassigned.
Hubby is in very good spirits. He is coughing a bit and I brought the cough syrup that really helped me. It’s called PRI and I purchased it on Amazon. I brought it with me and left it in a drawer in a dresser. I also brought a snack. I had purchased a package of 6 egg bagels from NY through the Fa rmer’s Market. They sell it for $4.99 ea and there were 2 left. They were already cut in half and I could have used a toaster if there was one available. I also brought cream cheese. Hubby loved it. Dinner came about a half hour later and he ate everything. They even had soup and hubby was in his glory. He is on two antibiotics that make him sleepy. I fell asleep in the chair. No one awakened me. Slept for an hour and then decided it was time to return home.
We both had the shot for shingles and next will be the one for pneumonia. Tomorrow it’s Lowes and the Farmer’s Market. I need bottled water, so maybe a stop at Costco.

Loving What You Hate
Hatred cannot help but be transformed in the presence of love.
Hatred can be irrational, and it has a greater impact on the individual who hates than the person or object being hated. Yet overcoming hatred is difficult because hatred reinforces itself and causes greater enmity to come into being. The most powerful tool one can use to combat hatred is love. Deciding to love what you hate, whether this is a person, situation, or a part of yourself, can create a profound change in your feelings and your experience. There is little room for anger, dislike, bitterness, or resentment when you are busy loving what you hate. The practice of loving what you hate can transform and shift your emotions from hatred to love because there is no room for hatred in a space occupied by love.
Granted, it is difficult to forgo judging someone, but you can love your enemy, and seek the good in situations that seem orchestrated to cause you pain or anger. In deciding to love what you hate, you become one less person adding negativity to the universe. On a simple level, loving what you hate can help you enjoy your life more. On a more complex level, loving what you hate sets you free because you disengage yourself from the hatred that can weigh down the soul. Responding with love to people radiating hatred transmutes their negative energy. You also empower yourself by not letting their negativity enter your personal space. Rather than lowering yourself to the level of their hatred, you give the other person an opportunity to rise above their feelings and meet you on the field of love.
Gandhi once said, “Be the change you want to see in the world.” Loving what you hate sends a positive, beautiful energy to people while spreading peace and harmony throughout the planet. Instead of reinforcing hatred, you become an advocate for love. Hatred responds to hate by causing anguish, but hatred cannot help but be transformed in the presence of love.

Sheba, I’m having trouble posting but here it goes…. Hello this Tuesday. Hope you are having a good day. Nice your daughter enjoyed NH and MA. I think NH is looking for younger people to move there. My son still doesn’t feel well and said a lot of people at his work are testing positive for Covid. He has caught the travel bug haha.
It’s a good age for it.
Yes, the new bed and adjustable metal frame was delivered and we are enjoying it. It is one mattress which is larger and heavier than the typical mattress. We are trying it without the Box Spring which is what broke over the years, and hubs repaired easily. I am also giving away my old headboard and will get one later. It’s a Sterns & Foster mattress and their matching frame, I seem to call it Bears & Sterns no matter what… My Sheets will fit so I didn’t need to buy those. I did however get a new comforter set from Macy’s Hotel Collection. It the ‘Fresco’ and nice. But it is over-sized and I don’t like that part as it becomes very heavy. It will be good for the colder weather. Macy’s service and delivery was excellent. All was on sale too.
Wishing you a great day.

Hi Oodie, I am sorry to hear about your husband. Sending prayers he recovers well.
Right now sounds like you got things handled, keeping him warm and away from that cold vent from the air-conditioning.
I think some warm liquids, hot soups, tea etc wold also benefit.
Oodie, Amazon has this: Purina, Breath-Ease Balm. A Natural Congestion Relief .
It is made with Eucalyptus, Tea Tree Oil, Lavender and Peppermint. Olive oil and Beeswax. It does relieves chest and nasal Congestion, eases symptoms of respiratory infections cough or allergies. You just and only gently massage, do not rub hard.
I use it in the Winter, which is when it mostly needed for colds and cough.Hoping your husband feels and gets better soon.
Take care Oodiebom.
