Conversation – 20

  • Sheba2011
  • 08.24.23 4:50 PM

Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is number 20 out of the
series. I created and started this thread nearly 10 years ago.
I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎

I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe. 🌹✨😎

Good afternoon in Florida. How are you today? I hope you are healing from your fall.

      @Sheba 🍁🍁🍁🍂🍂🍂🍂

Hello Sheba, I hope this finds you well and having pleasant walks with Poppy.
It’s a sad situation our planet is in. How we have not yet learned to live together in one planet in 2023 is incomprehensible.

I am still recovering from that horrible fall. It’s a very slow process. It certainly has done damage to my body.

I hope you get to visit your mother soon. And enjoy your time together ❤️.

      Take care Sheba 🌹

      @xango

I was so happy to see your post. I know this fall has set you back some, but just take one day at a time and don’t push yourself. Things will fall into place as you start feeling better. The weather isn’t much help, but, heard next week we will have 70s during the day and the nighttime will be in the 60s. Hopefully, that will lessen some of the pain you have been experiencing. I am glad that your hubby can work from home and keep an eye on you. By the way, you should keep a record of meds, doctor visits, and everything that has occurred since your fall. This includes all x-rays as well. By the way, has the market reached out to you since your fall????

      Take care. Don’t overdo anything.

So glad to hear from you. It may be a slow process but you will get there. Keep the faith and I wish you all good days ahead.🙏🤗🌹

      @oodiebom,

Good Afternoon on the Gulf Coast of Florida. Oodie how are you? I have not heard
from you and you know that is strange. I am hoping you are not affected by something
you ate. How is your husband? I am a little concerned here Xango has not posted either
but we know she is healing from her fall. I hope everyone will be alright.

So much is going on in the world it breaks my heart.

All I can say is I am thinking of you and hope there are no problems. Please be safe. 😘💕🎈

      • OODIEBOM
      • 10.12.23 8:55 AM

      @sheba2011

I am OK. Just had tons on my mind and needed to do some sorting. I finally made it to Lowes and bought a LG Microwave. Delivery is expected around the 21st which may need to be changed. Bought also a new showerhead and doorbell. Maybe now I will hear that instead of a knock on the window. Also installed a new flagpole and flag. Did the Amazon sale. Have to admit that the July sale was better. This is probably their kickoff to Black Friday and Cyber Week.

Hubby is doing well. He is now trying to get into bed from the wheelchair. His legs do need to become stronger and there is therapy for that. His short term memory seems to be returning. He now remembers more and more of his daily life at the rehab and wants home so badly he can taste it. I am hoping I will be able to contact the electrician and plumber within a week or two the most. I had to cancel the techs for tomorrow due to a tropical depression in the Gulf. Some much needed rain is expected for the next couple of days. We had some this evening and there was some flooding on my way home. I actually did not see it until it happened. There is a mile or more of no above lights on a main street which I use daily for the rehab. The ground here is so dry that water has no place to go. Hopefully, we will get the inches we sorely do need.

Hubby’s room was changed. All the furniture in that room was moved out to the hallway over the weekend. This included the window treatments and the curtains for privacy. The only furniture that could not be moved were the dresser and closet because they were built-ins. He has a new roommate. This one is nice, but like me, cannot hear that well. But, at least we all can hear the TV and not have to listen through the remote.

Yesterday I went to Culver’s and brought hubby Chili and a Reuben. Loved everything and though he ate dinner, there was room for more. Today, after Lowes, went to the Farmer’s Market. Brought hubby clam chowder and for me also. One of the best chowders I have ever tasted. Sorry, Cape Cod, this one was better. Also purchased an Italian grinder. and lobster salad for me. I never got to the lobster salad. Too full from the soup. Hubby ate a quarter of the grinder. Tomorrow we will have leftovers. No shopping. Will be working on the house tomorrow and will again start decluttering. Actually, there are quite a few things in boxes from last year’s hurricanes. Most of those boxes are in the MB. Once the kitchen and dining room are done, will go to the MB and put it together, FINALLY. On route to that area will do the hallway closets. Oh, forgot to mention. While at Lowes, saw a vanity for the guest bathroom. I will return to take a second look and get the measurements. Also will need to add a cabinet for added storage.

Take care. Stay warm. We had a few days with temps in the low 80s and at night in the 70s. We will most likely be in the mid 80s to low 90s through the weekend or until the storm passes. Nice weather is predicted for next week. 70s during the day. Mid 60s at night. Not sure how long that will last, but will be grateful nevertheless.

Good afternoon in the beautiful ‘burgh. I hope this day find you doing well. 😘💕🎈
No worries about the Hockey Team as tomorrow is another day.

I had to turn the Telly off again too much to bear. So much evil in the world. I will
leave it at that because there is a lot of love and goodness in the world too.

I hope your sister is resting from her Cruise. Hey I saw an article on line that showed
California has some of the highest parking rates in the nation. Holy Smokes!

Mom Friday is almost here I hope the Gyros were good I love them. 💕😎

Sending safe warm hugs to you and Jake’s Canvas. 💕😎

      @sheba2011

Good evening to you. Your pics today are so lovely!😊 Waiting to hear from mom, mom Friday may turn into mom Thursday this week. Either way I will be there.

Hockey team started the season just like they ended last season.😣 Only saw the last half of the game because one of my cable boxes broke and I was on a chat for an hour trying to fix it. Finally said “you know what” and had a technician come today. All fixed.

After all we’ve been seeing on the news, you are right, still goodness out there. In fact, I had to go to the hospital today for a test and the woman behind me in the cafeteria bought my coffee.☕ I will definitely pay it forward.

Sending hugs to you and my step-child.🤗💖

      The Journey of Release

When we learn to let go, more energy flows and less effort is needed.

When we become overwhelmed and things are not going as planned, it is natural to hold tighter to our goals and try to force things to go our way. In the process, we tie ourselves in knots, tensing our shoulders, jaws, and muscles throughout our bodies. Our mind tells us that this is how to get a firmer grip on a situation that feels out of control, but as we create knots in our bodies we are blocking the flow of our energy, exhausting ourselves by exerting more effort yet accomplishing less. At these times, though it may seem counterintuitive, our higher selves know it’s better to let go.

This may not be quite as easy as it sounds. After the relief of our first decision to release, if we allow questions about how to get everything done to start again, the knots will be back before we know it. So we need to be aware that this is a process to breathe through. First, we need to let go of our idea of what the perfect outcome should be, and allow that the intelligence that drives the universe knows better than we do how everything fits together for the highest good. Then we might have to release our imagined consequences and realize that, in most cases, the worst that could happen really isn’t that bad. We may need to remember how to relax, first by taking deep breaths, then by meditating, and then perhaps seeking help from a loved one, massage therapist, or energy healer to clear the underlying knots.

We can ease our mental stress by prioritizing what we truly want to accomplish, and then delegating the rest to someone who has more enthusiasm for those things. When we relax and let life’s energy flow through our minds, bodies, spirits, and lives, we will find that we can accomplish more with less effort and feel good doing it. We don’t have to tie ourselves in knots. Instead, we can let the ribbons of our energy unfurl to gracefully direct us through life’s abundant flow. AMEN! 🎈

      NATIONAL HANDBAG DAY
National Handbag Day on October 10th recognizes the versatile and utilitarian bag that goes by many names.

      #NationalHandbagDay

Not only do handbags come in many shapes and sizes. They can be the size of an envelope or almost as large as an overnight bag. They are available in every imaginable color and designs from leopard and zebra prints to calf skin and rhinestones. There truly is something for every taste and style.

Call it what you will – pocketbook, clutch, reticule, purse, evening bag, case, or pouch – they’ve been coming in handy for thousands of years. The earliest designs were a means of survival, but that didn’t stop the user from being creative. Whether they carried tools, ceremonial accessories or gear, the user often decorated them with beads or died the material. Complex pockets organized even the most elaborate sets of accessories.

Today, the availability of synthetic and natural fibers allows for even more variety in design. Bags offer a range of sizes and styles, too. Whether packing light, casual or sophisticated, these purses offer so much to the modern user.

Good afternoon my friend. Sounds like we have about the same weather, a very comfortable day.😊 Thanks for the good wishes, I will be watching and, hopefully, not turning on another TV show.😕 The new GM made a number of changes over the summer so we shall see.

I’m like you – my husband watches news shows a lot and I can only handle about an hour of our local broadcast. Every day there is breaking news, too sad.😪 And it never stops.

Hubs stopped for a couple gyros for dinner so no cooking today, yay! You and Poppy be careful with the foxes around.😮 Sending love and hugs your way.🤗💖

      All by Myself

Sometimes we need to be alone, to simply do nothing but enjoy the sound of silence.

We all need time alone. Even those of us who are social butterflies need some time to ourselves. Solitude is necessary for meditation and quiet reflection. We also may choose to isolate ourselves when we are busy and need to meet a deadline. We may cherish time alone when we want to give ourselves over to art or music, lose ourselves in a good book, or delve into a personal project. Having time to ourselves allows us to focus completely on our yoga practice or get into the zone while running or strength training. Sometimes we need to be alone to simply do nothing but enjoy the sound of silence. Our alone time revitalizes and replenishes us, grounding us in our own company.

Yet, too much isolation, especially when our intention is to hide, withdraw, or not deal with the realities of our lives is not physically, mentally, or spiritually healthy. It is during moments like these when being in isolation takes us away from our lives, rather than enhancing it. If anything, too much isolation can create a buffer whereby we don’t have to deal with our problems. Sometimes, pushing ourselves to deal with our issues and be in our lives, rather than isolate, is one of the best gifts we can give to ourselves.

Also, just as it is important for us to have our alone time, we need to remember that as human beings, we are by nature social creatures that thrive on human contact. Our lives cannot occur in a vacuum, and we cannot fully live in this world without interacting with others. Consider using isolation as time spent for rest, reinvigoration, and personal growth. Isolation can then not only empower you, but it can allow you to return to your work and your relationships restored and ready for life. 😎

      Miracles in Every Day

By noticing how small things can fill our days with delight, we are more likely to experience the wonder of living.

They are the everyday aspects of our lives that bring us the most joy, even if at first it may seem natural to expect our feelings of happiness to come from the larger events in our lives. By noticing how small things can fill our days with delight, we are more likely to experience the wonder of living. Once we take the time to look around and witness the beauty, kindness, and laughter that envelop us, what may seem like the ordinariness of the everyday becomes filled with the extraordinary detail of each individual moment. If we bring this sense of awareness to our lives for even a few minutes each day, we will begin to see just how blessed we truly are.

Beholding the joy that surrounds us may initially seem easy, but for some it can take a conscious effort to make it a part of a daily routine. When you awake in the morning and set the intention to notice more joy in the world, watch how your day and, eventually, your life are filled with more joy. The more we do this the more apt we will be to notice the sounds of children laughing or the sparkle of dewdrops on a flower petal. Allow this joy to fill your heart fully, and from there it will naturally expand to your entire body and then spread to others, giving them joy as well.

Taking in the small joys of each day expands our feeling of being connected with the world, especially once we become more attuned to them. With each passing day, we will find that these small delights, which bring a deeper level of appreciation for everything the universe has given to our lives, are miracles. AMEN! 💕🎈

      La vie en rose
      Song by Louis Armstrong

Hold me close and hold me fast
      The magic spell you cast
This is la vie en rose
When you kiss me, heaven sighs
And though I close my eyes
I see la vie en rose
When you press me to your heart
      I’m in a world apart
      A world where roses bloom
And when you speak, angels, sing from above
      Everyday words seem
      To turn into love songs
Give your heart and soul to me
      And life will always be

Good afternoon Oodie. I did read your post from last night. I want to give my condolence
for the loss of your husband room mate how sad no one visited him.

I hope he is at peace now. 🎈

Oodie you have so much going on anytime you are in bed it’s because your body is telling
you to slow down. I agree if your husband had been home a lot would not be happening.
I know you can’t wait for him to have his surgery and come home. Prayers that all goes well.

I had to turn the telly off the news is not good. I am deeply concerned as everything just
look terrible no matter where it is.

Oodie I hope you can enjoy a nice Sunday with your husband. Let me know how you are
doing today. Each day is new and different I hope this is a good one.

I also feel for my hubby;s roommate. I think he was in tons of pain, though he seemed never to complain. Last week I just had a feeling that the end was near. The only person who visited him was a nurse from the outside who may have been from hospice. After she left he seemed to be more comfortable. He had stopped eating at that point, though one of the nurse’s did help with dinner time.

Hubby did enjoy the hotdog. Weekends it seems, the meals go downhill. I surmise that the kitchen help is without the main cook. Not sure if hubby wants another hotdog. Right now I do wish to make a stop to gas up. Gas at Costco is $.10 less than Sam’s Club. And since there is no work being done on the interstate, may take that route as a detour for Costco.

P.S. I forgot to mention that I did some research online concerning Trivia. Tons of game sights that have their own game of Trivia. So now I wonder if the games that HSN are planning will have their own game. This, certainly, will be an aspect to watch and maybe incorporate it into our Friday night program. However, in this case you can play Trivia daily. I did not realize how popular this game was until now. If this is the case, it could lead into a daily adventure. ….Just thinking.

Just turned your game on, good luck this afternoon.🏈🤞 I know you won’t be watching until it is almost over. When the hockey team plays horrible, I get up and go turn another TV on with a different program. Thanks for the shout-out.

SIL is doing okay, she has one of those little scooter type things you put your knee on to get around. Sees the doc next week. Sis is home from the cruise and enjoyed the week. She got a super good deal from her casino for this one and ended up paying more for parking her car than the cruise.😲

Very windy today which makes it feel colder. Evidence of another coon in the yard so hubs is setting up the trap tonight.🦝 We must have awfully good grubs! Be careful of the foxes, mom must be somewhere around.🐺

Chili on a chilly day sounds good. SIL gave us some soup🥣so that will be for tomorrow, leftovers today. Sending warm hugs your way.🤗💖

Good afternoon on the Gulf Coast of Florida. 💕😎Oodie I hope this is a good day for you.
Enjoy the visit with your husband nice day for some good eats.

Hopefully your A/C will be up and running with all you do you need to be comfortable.

Hubby and I will be in and out today. My plants and flowers survived the night. 💕😎

I had plenty of critters come by for food and I feed every one of them. My favorite is the
beautiful black cat. I have been taking care of him for almost three years. Oodie that is
why our son is coming to stay in the house to take care of the cats and Poppy.

Glad you met with the head nurse about your husband and I hope they watch that situation
      very carefully to prevent infection.

OZ was in the 30’s last night and this morning hubby wanted to turn on the heat I was like
I don’t think so not yet. I know we will have a cold winter and everything is going up and I mean
everything especially food. Good grief when will it end?

Anyway my friend have a good day shopping and I hope it is a cooler day for you. 😎

      @sheba2011

Hi. Last night was interesting. I think we can do both Trivia and a conversation thread just like before. It will be difficult in the beginning since Fridays I am with hubby until 8:30 pm or 9 pm. He wants me there earlier and now I will definitely try. Today was supposed to be with him before 4pm. I arrived at 5:45pm. Luckily he didn’t eat much dinner and so he enjoyed the Costco hot dog. I am beginning to look around for another company other than Terminix. Now that most of the rodents have gone away (at least I hope so) I need to know how and where they were coming in. So, I made a phone call a few days ago and we set an appointment for today between 10 am and Noon. No one showed. So about 1 pm I made a phone call. The Tech I spoke to said he was there yesterday. I mentioned that there was no notice of that person to be here. Oops, I missed a part. Made the phone call and was told that there was at least a 20 minute wait and they would call me when someone was ready. It was supposed to be a 20 min. wait that actually turned into an hour. I left the house after 3 pm. No other appointment was made since it will be rescheduled next week. Talking about circles and run around.

I made a stop at Costco and had a great time. Picked up a couple of things for the freezer and my dinner along with a hotcog for hubby. I also bought a medley of fruit and a container of strawberries. Made it to the rehab and hubby and told him the story. I surmise that if he were home none of this baloney would have occurred.

This evening, hubby’s roommate passed while I was there. He was alone. No visitors. As I left to return home, the coroner was there signing some papers. I feel he is in a better place, but sadden that no one visited while he was alive. I was surprised to see the head nurse there this evening. Normally he is home on the weekends.

Weather wise, it was OK. Very cloudy with temps in the low 80s. No rain was expected, but there was a brief shower on my way to Costco. Humidity, low. It still felt like summer.

Hope you have a nice evening. Stay warm. I know it’ s too soon for the heat, but you may want to turn it on just to get the chill out of the air in the house. I bought a pair of warm slippers while in Costco. It does get cold here also, though the temps are usually around 40. But the 40s here feels like the mid 20s to low 30s in the Northeast.

      Killer Queen
      Song by Queen

She keeps her Moët et Chandon
      In her pretty cabinet
“Let them eat cake, ” she says
      Just like Marie Antoinette
      A built-in remedy
      For Khrushchev and Kennedy
      At anytime an invitation
      You can’t decline
      Caviar and cigarettes
      Well versed in etiquette
      Extraordinarily nice
      She’s a Killer Queen
      Gunpowder, gelatine
      Dynamite with a laser beam
      Guaranteed to blow your mind
      Anytime
      Recommended at the price
      Insatiable an appetite
      Wanna try?
      To avoid complications
She never kept the same address
      In conversation
She spoke just like a baroness
      Met a man from China
      Went down to Geisha Minor
      Then again incidentally
      If you’re that way inclined
Perfume came naturally from Paris (naturally)
For cars she couldn’t care less
      Fastidious and precise
      She’s a Killer Queen
      Gunpowder, gelatine
      Dynamite with a laser beam
      Guaranteed to blow your mind
      Anytime
Drop of a hat she’s as willing as
      Playful as a cat
      Then momentarily out of action
      Temporarily out of gas
To absolutely drive you wild, wild
      She’s out to get you
      She’s a Killer Queen
      Gunpowder, gelatine
      Dynamite with a laser beam
      Guaranteed to blow your mind

      Bohemian Rhapsody
      Song by Queen

Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy?
Caught in a landslide, no escape from reality
Open your eyes, look up to the skies and see
I’m just a poor boy, I need no sympathy
Because I’m easy come, easy go, little high, little low
Any way the wind blows doesn’t really matter to me, to me
      Mama, just killed a man
Put a gun against his head, pulled my trigger, now he’s dead
      Mama, life had just begun
But now I’ve gone and thrown it all away
Mama, ooh, didn’t mean to make you cry
If I’m not back again this time tomorrow
Carry on, carry on as if nothing really matters
Too late, my time has come
Sends shivers down my spine, body’s aching all the time
Goodbye, everybody, I’ve got to go
Gotta leave you all behind and face the truth
Mama, ooh (any way the wind blows)
      I don’t wanna die
I sometimes wish I’d never been born at all
I see a little silhouetto of a man
Scaramouche, Scaramouche, will you do the Fandango?
Thunderbolt and lightning, very, very frightening me
(Galileo) Galileo, (Galileo) Galileo, Galileo Figaro, magnifico
But I’m just a poor boy, nobody loves me
He’s just a poor boy from a poor family
Spare him his life from this monstrosity
Easy come, easy go, will you let me go?
      بِسْمِ ٱللَّٰهِ
No, we will not let you go (let him go)
      بِسْمِ ٱللَّٰهِ
We will not let you go (let him go)
      بِسْمِ ٱللَّٰهِ
We will not let you go (let me go)
Will not let you go (let me go)
Never, never, never, never let me go
No, no, no, no, no, no, no
      Oh, mamma mia, mamma mia
      Mamma mia, let me go
Beelzebub has a devil put aside for me, for me, for me
So you think you can stone me and spit in my eye?
So you think you can love me and leave me to die?
Oh, baby, can’t do this to me, baby
Just gotta get out, just gotta get right outta here
      Ooh
      Ooh, yeah, ooh, yeah
Nothing really matters, anyone can see
      Nothing really matters
      Nothing really matters to me

      We Will Rock You
      Song by Queen

Buddy, you’re a boy, make a big noise
Playing in the street, gonna be a big man someday
You got mud on your face, you big disgrace
Kicking your can all over the place, singin’
We will, we will rock you
We will, we will rock you
Buddy, you’re a young man, hard man
Shouting in the street, gonna take on the world someday
You got blood on your face, you big disgrace
Waving your banner all over the place
We will, we will rock you, sing it!
We will, we will rock you
Buddy, you’re an old man, poor man
Pleading with your eyes, gonna make you some peace someday
You got mud on your face, big disgrace
Somebody better put you back into your place

National Orange Wine Day is celebrated every year on October 6 but it’s always a good day to pop open a bottle of orange wine. Now we know what you’re thinking — ‘Orange wine? Like wine made from oranges? That’s neat!’ Yes, it does sound neat. However, orange wine is not a wine made from oranges. It has nothing to do with oranges. It’s wine made of white wine grapes that are fermented with their skins on. This is what gives the finished product its distinct color. Although you may not have seen orange wine in a lot of places but trust us, that’s going to change soon!

HISTORY OF NATIONAL ORANGE WINE DAY

National Orange Wine Day was first established in 2018 by the “National Day Registry,” in an attempt to bring more awareness to this beautiful yet little-known wine. Now you may not have seen orange wine at your nearest liquor store or even your favorite watering hole, but this wine has roots tracing back thousands of years.

Wine scholars suggest that orange wine was first made in Georgia, Europe way back in 6000 B.C. What’s interesting is that Georgia is also thought to be the birthplace of wine. In the coming thousands of years, orange wine fell into obscurity. But a recent resurgence started around two decades ago when wine connoisseurs all over the world rediscovered this unusual type of wine.

The technical term for this wine style is ‘skin-contact wine’ because of the technique with which they are made. Just like all the other popular styles of wine — red, white, sparkling, and rose — orange wine is also made from pressing and fermenting grapes — white wine grapes to be specific.

To put it simply, white wine is made from grapes with their skins off, red wine is made from grapes with their skins on, while rose is made from grapes that have had their skin left on for a short period.

Orange wines, or skin-contact wines, are made with white grapes with their skins on. When the crushed grapes are fermenting, they take on a more tannic quality from their skins and pips, but also a deeper color. Most skin-contact wines are more of a golden yellow than a definite orange but many end up having a bright amber shade.

      @sheba2011

I just started the thread for tonight. It will be a conversation with some input I hope. DEFG, hopefully, will join us and will help. It seems she has had experience with Trivia on line. I do miss FBN and remember the last response was he had Covid. With all his health problems, I am hoping that he recovered and is doing the best he can with the limited eyesight. I have not seen any posts from FBN since that time.

Hubby is not a happy camper at the Rehab. He wants home and I had to reiterate that he needs tp be able to get in and out of bed on his own and to be able to walk with or without a walker, though we do have a wheelchair if needed. He forgets that he is dead weight and I can no longer lift him out of a wheelchair into bed. The HOA here limits the amount of time that someone could stay the night. Actually, once the catheter is removed, he will need to be able to do things on his own. He will spend one night in the hospital following surgery because of the anesthesia. The next day the catheter will be permanently removed. I assume he will spend another night or two to make sure that everything is OK.

We are still experiencing summer on the Gulf coast. Yesterday the temps were in the low 90s with humidity. I had turned the fan off hours prior to the A//C and kept the overhead on. If the house heats up like it did yesterday, I will definitely make reservations somewhere. The techs will be here next Thursday. Hopefully, we will not have any major storms that will make the water back up.

      @oodiebom,

I think the Trivia Thread will be alright keep working at it. This thread I created took time.
Because it’s about my life and family along with many others I don’t have to think of
anythings. I have so many fond memories of the different people who have came through
      here. 🌹

      Sweet Dreams Oodie.

      @sheba2011

Good evening to you. Physically and mentally tired, I am ready for some orange wine!🍊 Ran back and forth for mom and then realized she hadn’t put her monthly deposits into her checking account ledger. Got all that figured out then cleaned up her house while she was at the salon. I miss sis!!!🤣 Taking care of two households is tough.

Tomorrow and most of the next week will be in the 40s and 50’s, sounds like Oz. Not complaining, nice to breathe in some fresh air. Leaves are turning and falling quick.🍁🍂

Going to put my feet up, have a relaxing evening. Lots of hugs to you and Poppy.🤗💖

      Kindness

Kindness expands the light within us and reaches out to touch the light in others as well.

Kindness is an ideal that is easily accessible to all of us. We all know that a small kindness can make our journeys lighter and more enjoyable. Even bringing an instance of kindness to mind can put a smile on your face days or weeks later or perhaps even inspire you to share kindness with another. Though it may seem simple to the point of insignificance, many cultures throughout the world and history have recognized kindness as a powerful virtue. It may be the simplest way to experience and share all the grandest ideals of humanity. We can make the choice to act from the best place within ourselves at any time, while simultaneously recognizing the highest potential in another with the smallest of acts, nourishing the seed of hope in each soul we encounter.

In a way, kindness acts as the oil that makes the engine of our world move more smoothly and with less friction. We can still get where we are going but the ride is more pleasant, and those around us can share in the ideal world that we help to create. We are all fortunate that kindness is limitless in its supply and available to everyone. When we act in ways that confirm our ideals, we make the ideal our reality. Then, instead of affirming the experience of struggle and competition, we can shift our experience to the reality of ease and pleasurable camaraderie with the fellow citizens of the world.

Whether giving way to someone in traffic or letting someone go ahead of us in line, donating money or sharing our homes in a crisis, we actively create a universe of kindness and giving with every choice we make. The smallest gesture can bring a smile to light the shadow of an unpleasant situation or remove tension from a difficult task, but its effects can echo and extend far beyond the moment. We can be sure that we will receive kindness in return, but giving is its own reward. Kindness expands the light within us and reaches out to touch the light in others as well, giving us all a glimpse of the glow that has the power to enlighten our world. 🎈😎
