Conversation – 19

  • Sheba2011
  • 06.30.23 3:22 PM

Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is number 19 out of the
series. I created and started this thread nearly 10 years ago.
I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎

I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe. 🌹✨😎

      Club Tropicana
      Song by Wham!

Let me take you to the place
      Where membership’s a smiling face
      Brush shoulders with the stars
Where strangers take you by the hand
      And welcome you to wonderland
      From beneath their panamas
      Club Tropicana, drinks are free
Fun and sunshine, there’s enough for everyone
All that’s missing is the sea
But don’t worry, you can suntan
      Castaways and lovers meet
      Then kiss in Tropicana’s heat
Watch the waves break on the bay
Oh soft white sands, a blue lagoon
      Cocktail time, a summer’s tune
      A whole night’s holiday
      Club Tropicana, drinks are free
Fun and sunshine, there’s enough for everyone
All that’s missing is the sea
But don’t worry, you can suntan
      Club Tropicana, drinks are free
Fun and sunshine, there’s enough for everyone
All that’s missing is the sea
But don’t worry, you can suntan
      Pack your bags
      And leave tonight
      Don’t take your time
Gotta move your feet, don’t you miss the flight!

      Will Smith – Summertime

      summer, summer, summertime
time to sit back and unwind
      Verse One: Fresh Prince
Here it is the groove slightly transformed
just a bit of a break from the norm
just a little somethin’ to break the monotony
of all that hardcore dance that has gotten to be
a little bit out of control it’s cool to dance
but what about the groove that soothes that moves romance
give me a soft subtle mix
and if ain’t broke then don’t try to fix it
and think of the summers of the past
adjust the base and let the alpine blast
pop in my CD and let me run a rhyme
and put your car on cruise and lay back cause this is summertime
      Chorus
      Verse Two: Fresh Prince
school is out and it’s a sort of a buzz
a back then I didn’t really know what it was
but now I see what have of this
the way that people respond to summer madness
the weather is hot and girls are dressing less
and checking out the fellas to tell ’em who’s best
riding around in your jeep or your benzos
or in your Nissan sitting on lorenzos
back in Philly we be out in the park
a place called the plateau is where everybody goes
guys out hunting and girls doing likewise
honking at the honey in front of you with the light eyes
she turn around to see what you beeping at
it’s like the summers a natural afradesiac
and with a pen and pad I compose this rhyme
to hit you and get you equipped for the summer time
      Chorus
      Verse Three: Fresh Prince
it’s late in the day and I ain’t been on the court yet
hustle to the mall to get me a short set
yeah I got on sneaks but I need a new pair
cause basketball courts in the summer got girls there
      the temperature’s about 88
hop in the water plug just for old times sake
break to ya crib change your clothes once more
cause you’re invited to a barbeque that’s starting at 4
sitting with your friends cause y’all remincise
about the days growing up and the first person you kiss
and as I think back makes me wonder how
the smell from a grill could spark up nostalgia
all the kids playing out front
little boys messin round with the girls playing double-dutch
while the DJ’s spinning a tune as the old folks dance at your family reunion
      then six o’clock rolls around
you just finished wiping your car down
it’s time to cruise so you head to the summertime hangout
it looks like a car show
      everybody come lookin real fine
fresh from the barber shop or fly from the beauty salon
      every moment frontin and maxin
chillin in the car they spent all day waxin
leanin to the side but you can’t spead through
Two miles an hour so everybody sees you
there’s an air of love and of happiness
and this is the Fresh Prince’s new defintion of summer madness

      The Lovin’ Spoonful
      “Summer In The City”

Hot town, summer in the city
Back of my neck getting dirty and gritty
Been down, isn’t it a pity?
Doesn’t seem to be a shadow in the city
All around, people looking half dead
Walking on the sidewalk, hotter than a match head

But at night it’s a different world
Go out and find a girl
Come on, come on and dance all night
Despite the heat it’ll be all right

And babe, don’t you know it’s a pity
That the days can’t be like the nights
In the summer, in the city
In the summer, in the city

Cool town, evening in the city
Dressing so fine and looking so pretty
Cool cat, looking for a kitty
Gonna look in every corner of the city
Till I’m wheezing like a bus stop
Running up the stairs, gonna meet you on the rooftop

But at night it’s a different world
Go out and find a girl
Come on, come on and dance all night
Despite the heat it’ll be all right

And babe, don’t you know it’s a pity
That the days can’t be like the nights
In the summer, in the city
In the summer, in the city

Hot town, summer in the city
Back of my neck getting dirty and gritty
Been down, isn’t it a pity?
Doesn’t seem to be a shadow in the city

Theme From Mahogany (Do You Know Where You’re Going To)
      Song by Diana Ross

Do you know where you’re going to?
Do you like the things that life is showing you?
      Where are you going to?
      Do you know?
Do you get what you’re hoping for?
When you look behind you, there’s no open doors
      What are you hoping for?
      Do you know?
Once we were standing still in time
Chasing the fantasies that filled our minds
You knew how I loved you, but my spirit was free
Laughing at the questions that you once asked of me
Do you know where you’re going to?
Do you like the things that life is showing you?
      Where are you going to?
      Do you know?
Now looking back at all we planned
We let so many dreams just slip through our hands
Why must we wait so long before we see
How sad the answers to those questions can be?
Do you know where you’re going to?
Do you like the things that life is showing you?
      Where are you going to?
      Do you know?
Do you get what you’re hoping for?
When you look behind you, there’s no open doors
      What are you hoping for?
      Do you know?

      @Sheba🌺🌺🌺🌺

Hello Sheba, So glad you are alright, power around there has been restored. I remember reading you had power and internet but no cable. Gentle rain is always good.
Sometimes it seems as if it’s going to rain but it just blows over.
But yesterday rained and the bunnies came out after it stopped to munch on the grass.
As a matter of fact I hear some thunder now. Hopefully it will rain today too.
Temperatures today was hot and humidity was 72 percent. I know the rest of the country is extremely hot with records Temperatures.

Have a great Wednesday Sheba and take care. 🌹🌹

      Sheba, Hello! Congratulations on #19!
Yesterday I watched the news and it showed all the storms and heat. PA also seemed hit hard, along with Oz, and some other areas. It must be awful for those affected and hope some of their insurance helps out.
Hey, seems Taylor Swift is headed to LA in early August.

We are doing pretty good thanks for asking. Hubs is back to normal or rather himself shall I say, haha. Hiked today and it was hot but I really wanted to get out. My face was so red when i got home, but otherwise I feel good.
      Have a good evening!

      @taci,

Good evening and I hope your hike was great. Taci this thread is three weeks old.
Someone made a mistake on the old one they needed customer service and just
mistook it for their needs. I think HSN will stop further posting because the thread
      is closed.

Taci I saw today a huge tree totaled a car and two homes I did not have my camera
with me but I am going back for that picture you will not believe it the tree covers two
      houses and a car. OMG!

Taylor Swift is doing her world tour and she is pretty good at what she does. ✨😎

Good afternoon to you. I hope you’re right and I don’t have any problems today.

Doing lots of small chores around the house and went for a haircut.✂ It is actually a great day with temps around 80 and low humidity.😊 Getting warmer later in the week.

Glad you are back to normal and hope it stays that way.😕 Rain is good but not too much. Wish I could see Mr. Poppy strutting in his shoes.🐾🤗💖

Whose Fault Is It? Ending the Blame Game

Conflict should always be met with open ears and an open heart.

Conflict is an unavoidable part of our lives because our beliefs and modes of being often contrast powerfully with those of our loved ones, acquaintances, and associates. Yet for all the grief disagreements can cause, we can learn much from them. The manner in which we handle ourselves when confronted with anger or argument demonstrates our overall level of patience and the quality of our energetic states.

To resolve conflict, no matter how exasperating the disagreement at hand, we should approach our adversary with an open heart laden with compassion. Judgments and blame must be cast aside and replaced with mutual respect. Conflict is frequently motivated by unspoken needs that are masked by confrontational attitudes or aggressive behavior. When we come at a conflict with love and acceptance in our hearts, we empower ourselves to discover a means to attaining collective resolution.

The key to finding the wisdom concealed in conflict is to ask yourself why you clash with a particular person or situation. Your inner self or the universe may be trying to point you to a specific life lesson, so try to keep your ears and eyes open. Once you have explored the internal and external roots of your disagreement, make a conscious effort to release any anger or resentment you feel. As you do so, the energy between you and your adversary will change perceptibly, even if they are still operating from a more limited energy state. Consider that each of you likely has a compelling reason for thinking and feeling as you do, and accept that you have no power to change your adversary’s mind. This can help you approach your disagreement rationally, with a steady voice and a willingness to compromise.

If you listen thoughtfully and with an empathetic ear during conflict, you can transform clashes into opportunities to compromise. Examine your thoughts and feelings carefully. You may discover stubbornness within yourself that is causing resistance or that you are unwittingly feeding yourself negative messages about your adversary. As your part in disagreements becomes gradually more clear, each new conflict becomes another chance to further hone your empathy, compassion, and tolerance. AMEN! ✨✨

    Up, Up and Away
    Song by The 5th Dimension

Would you like to ride in my beautiful balloon
Would you like to ride in my beautiful balloon
We could float among the stars together, you and I
For we can fly, we can fly
    Up, up and away
    My beautiful, my beautiful balloon
The world’s a nicer place in my beautiful balloon
It wears a nicer face in my beautiful balloon
We can sing a song and sail along the silver sky
For we can fly, we can fly
    Up, up and away
    My beautiful, my beautiful balloon
    Suspended under a twilight canopy
We’ll search the clouds for a star to guide us
If by some chance you find yourself loving me
We’ll find a cloud to hide us
We’ll keep the moon beside us
Love is waiting there in my beautiful balloon
Way up in the air in my beautiful balloon
If you’ll hold my hand we’ll chase your dream across the sky
For we can, fly we can fly
    Up, up and away
    My beautiful, my beautiful balloon
    Balloon
    Up, up, and away

Sounds like a problem for HSN’s tech crew. Definitely not a Spectrum problem. I’m about to head to a shower and then to see hubby. Head nurse phoned and hubby ate his entire breakfast in the dining room. I will be returning to the Farmer’s Market tomorrow for more fruit and other things. I started getting my energy back today for the first time in a couple of weeks. Guess the sulfite thing helped in some ways.

It’s starting to get cloudy. Wonder if we will finally see some rain???? Not holding my breath.

Glad to see sholelady60 post. I was concerned with the flooding. Hope her mom and sis are OK.

      Reading for Pleasure

Each time we read for enjoyment, the empathy awakened within us creates entire landscapes in our mind’s eye.

Every book has the potential to touch the human soul deeply, arousing patterns of thought that might otherwise have lain dormant. The pleasure we derive from the written word is unique in that we must labor for it. Other forms of art provide us with stimulus and ask nothing more than our emotional response. Reading is an active pastime that requires an investment of emotion as well as our concentration and imagination. The words we read are merely a starting point for a process that takes place largely within our minds and hearts.

There are few activities as comforting, relaxing, and healthy as perusing the pages of a good piece of fiction or nonfiction. Curling up with a book and a cup of tea is one of the simplest ways we can remove ourselves from the confines of reality in order to immerse ourselves in the drama and intrigue of the unfamiliar. However, the pleasure of transcending reality is only one aspect of the reading experience.

Each time we read for enjoyment, whether we prefer the fantastic nature of fiction, the empathy awakened within us by memoir, or the instructive passion of nonfiction, we create entire landscapes in our mind’s eye. The books we choose provide us with the inspiration we need to accomplish such a feat, but it is our own creative reserves that empower us to use our imaginations for this unique and beautiful purpose.

The tales you lose yourself in can lead you on paths of discovery that take you out of your own life and help you see that existence can unfold in an infinite number of ways. You can learn so much from the characters and mentors who guide you from page to page. Your emotions are awakened each time you read, allowing you to become a vessel for the passion that pours forth from line after line of print. Ultimately, the books you absorb – those that touch you deeply – will become a part of who you are, providing you with a rich and thrilling world within that you can revisit anytime you wish by simply closing your eyes. If you haven’t read a book for pleasure lately, try and allow yourself the time – you deserve it. AMEN! ✨✨

Hmm..I don’t think the glitch is your computer. Your Internet connection could be running.on lower power due to the storms. It may take another day or two before things return to a somewhat normalcy.

I made a stop at Lowes and then went to Culvers. The reason hubby isn’t eating is because he is in bed. He needs to be sitting upright either in bed where his feet are dangling or in the wheelchair. Anyway last night’s dinner was a fiasco. On his plate was a dinner roll that wasn’t toasted and was just a day away from being old. Some kind of meat next to it that you could actually count the slices. There were about four tiny, and I mean tiny slices. Next to that were home fries. I counted 5. Thank goodness I made a stop. I brought hubby a Reuben sandwich, strawberry salad and a hot fudge sundae. I had my usual chicken salad with cashews. Was so good to eat something without a reaction. One more day of watching and being extra careful will bring everything back to normal. This reaction was the strongest ever. The pain and itch inside my mouth and around the outside of the jaw and chin unbearable. I made it through, but cannot imagine how. Anyway, ok now.

Hope your day runs smoothly. Take it easy if you are experiencing triple digits. The animals will return when the weather changes. Some may have lost their home in the trees that were uprooted. They will be very hungry and thirsty. I miss my home in Ct. For that reason. I do not miss the house. Let Poppy go out back or make him walk on the grass.

Now I will start my day. Garbage pickup. I may wait to Thursday.

We have many people without power period. This is a hot day I would be in place
that is cool on a day like this. I went to take Poppy to the corner last night and it
was pitch dark with trees and limbs down I hurried back home as I did not know
what else was in the darkness. I saw none of my critters which worries me.

I hope you and hubby are having a fun day. Hubby and I cleaned some debris from the
trees in the yards everyone is affected one way or another.

      This too shall pass. 😎✨

      @Sheba 🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺

Hello Sheba, good thing you have power and internet. Your area must of have some very big storms. I hope your cable comes back on soon.
Hopefully your furry friends found shelter from the storms and will be back in no time.
We haven’t had any rain lately, very dry all around.

I spoke with my cousin in Brazil, they are under a cold spell with temperatures being very cold. There was a period of warm weather and her garden started to bloom. She has lovely Papaya trees, the birds enjoy eating them. She was able to get some before the cold spell arrived.

May the rest of your weekend get better, take care Sheba 🌹🌹🌹

      @oodiebom,

Good afternoon on the Gulf Coast of Florida. ✨😎I hope you are sleeping you deserve to
sleep as late as you possibly can. I know duty calls. I hope you make it to all the places
you need to be with the temps I don’t know how you do it.

Oz is a mess today and our neighbor across the Stateline which is Misery is a mess too.
Mother nature gave us all some serious rain but she took out a lot of trees I have never
seen anything like this all in one afternoon. Oh Snap! This will take a minute to clean up.

The good part is no one was seriously injured a lot of cars were totaled by trees and a lot
of rooftops had trees on top of the homes everything looks like a war zone. I know
Insurance Adjusters are busy today and I saw some when I was out earlier. I have no major
damage just some tree debris me and hubby spent the morning cleaning up.

Oodie let me know how things are going for you and hubby today. I did chuckle when you
wrote he was at the front door ready to go home. I don’t blame him. ✨🌹

I hope you are feeling better after your episode with the food. Oodie like your cell phone
keep all meds with you. ✨😎

I am just glad you are alright. 🌹

      @sheba2011

Well, it is Sunday. And for the first time in months I did not fall asleep at the computer. I did not see hubby yesterday, though I did try. Unfortunately, all the meds to stop the itch and the pain and the swelling took it’s toll on me. I slept on and off all day. And, to think, today I am fine. However, I will be reading all labels just to be sure that the things I eat do not contain a food source that is a sulfite. In the beginning I thought I had cracked a tooth. It was that painful. But the swelling of my jaw reminded me of the time I had the mumps. And that’s another story.

Today I will be going to Lowes. I need a table for the lanai and some soil. There are other things on the list as well. Then back to the house to work in the kitchen. Guess I will need to redo every cabinet inside and out. Then back to the Master Bedroom where I will need to redo both closets. Thorough cleaning is in order everywhere.

I spoke to the unit mgr/head nurse and he informed me that hubby is up to some tricks. He brought him to the dining room where he could meet some people and start conversing. That was a great idea. A different venue may help him. I will be going there today and may bring dinner for both of us, unless, the meal tonight is edible. Feel so much better.

Oh, forgot to mention that the temp in the house reached 90. The A/C was on, but the temp was going up. So, I went to the panel and I shut everything down and I mean everything. Let things cool for an half an hour or so and then turned everything on. The A/C is now purring away as if nothing happened. Temp in the house was 75 and now I will put everything on humidistat to save energy and the cost later.

So far no rain, though we may get a little something today. I’m not doing my usual rain dance. I learned that lesson last year. I am now going to Lowes. Have a great afternoon. Let Poppy out back. Still say a Kiddie pool may help those critters more. Put a beach ball in there and watch the craziness. Glad you had electricity following those storms. I am watching Vermont. Looks like the Cape is in for torrential rain starting today. Quite a bit of flooding could hit the Cape. I think our home is safe, but will find out soon enough if there is a problem.

      @oodiebom,

We are raining right no win OZ it is dark and raining with all the works. I have my blinds closed
where I am online. WE will this off and on today. I do not have a problem unless more
trees are uprooted what a scene.

Oodie I would rest today Lowes can wait until you get all your strength back. ✨

What a bad reaction I was hoping you were home resting.

I know you need to check on hubby and bring food but I would leave off the stores
      until you are better. 🌹

      @taci,

Good afternoon in S. California. Taci things are getting somewhat back to normal OZ had
a huge storm that took out trees and property. I have not seen one like this in a long time.

I feel for some of the people affected hard by this storm. Taci there was a report where
someone brand new SUV was totaled right in their driveway by huge trees falling on it.
We are all glad no one was seriously hurt during this storm.

All hubby and I are doing is cleaning up debris in the yards now we are really warm. 😎✨

I hope you are feeling better today and you are right as rain. 💕😘

Sheba, oh, no! that storm sounds awful. Glad no one was hurt. Sounds like it was a biggie.

We were pretty warm and I waited until after 6pm to hike and cut it short because other critters were out and being noisy, yes a little freaked out yet there were other people out and about. I must have a little bug and now hubs is feeling it. oh no, he wants lots of attention. haha.

Be safe out there in OZ.

      @shoelady60,

Good day in the ‘burgh and may this day be a good one for you and hubby.
Things are getting there as we had a lot of debris from the storm yesterday
Lady it was a major storm I am so glad me and Poppy made it home before
it started. I took Poppy out after the storm and in my area it was pitch black.
I let Poppy do Poppy and I rushed back home with him in tow.

I saw none of my cats or critters and I went looking for the Cats. I was this tall slender
figure in the night I know if anyone saw they would have went what the hay! LOL!

I am going to rest it has been a long 24 hours. ✨✨I have seen trees uprooted all
      over the place good grief.

Blowing a gentle hug to you and Jake’s Canvas. 😘✨Here is to cooler days.

Your description of the storm gave me the chills, been there, done that.😣 You know how I am with all the trees around us. Just glad the three of you are okay. All your critters are probably hiding from the noise of the storms and chainsaws. We are supposed to get a thunderstorm tonight, keeping fingers crossed it’s not too bad.🤞⛈

Very warm today. Other than watering the flowers, stayed inside doing small projects. Leftovers for dinner so easy cooking.

Stay safe mystery woman in the dark. There may be some weak limbs ready to fall. Lots of hugs to you, hubs and Poppy.🤗💖

Hello Sheba and happy Friday to you and your hubby. I hope this day finds you and Poppy doing well and enjoying Summer.

It’s a hot afternoon and the Sun is shining. The sky is a pretty blue and has huge fluffy white clouds. I love this time of year, but not so much the extreme high heat. I prefer the temperatures to feel in the eighties.

I am not sure what’s for dinner yet. Haven’t decided if cooking or having hubby pick something up. Perhaps fried cat fish and some fruit.

Here’s wishing you and your hubby a great weekend 🚴‍♀️ 🚵‍♂️

      Take care Sheba 🌹

We had some strong storms today trees are everywhere.

kept ours. Most have their power restored but trees are the problem now.

I hope hubby regains his energy and start moving. Oodie you have too much to do

      @sheba2011

I will start the game off today before I leave the house. I may take the Kindle with me so I can enjoy part of the game unless I leave prior, which doesn’t happen too often. I just got off the phone where I purchased last night’s dinner and thanked them for a lovely meal. Last night really came in handy after finding everything on the floor with dishes and glasses shattered. I have no idea when that happened and why his roommate did not press the button for him. I did all that first thing when I was able to locate the buzzer. Also, thank goodness for the food I brought. He ate everything. Today I will be going to the Farmer’s Market and also will either stop at Costco or Culver’s for delicious ice cream.

I also placed a call to the Head Nurse/Unit Mgr to relay what happened yesterday. I do not get mad often, but today, I’m as mad as a hornet, as the saying goes. When the person in charge leaves for the day, the others use the “I don’t care attitude.” There are times when I wish I could change venues, and this is one of those days. No excuse not to change a patient’s position so they can eat. And, no excuse not to have something else on hand especially when accidents do occur. Thank goodness for restaurants nearby that I can go to in case something like this ever happens again.

By the way, speaking of Culver’s. Love their salads. And their homemade ice cream/custard, yum. Well, I am now on my way to a shower and hope to be on my way within the next half hour. Have a great day and hopefully, I will see you in Trivia tonight.

Hope you get some needed rain and those triple digits come down. We are at 90 something with high humidity. We are also in a terrible drought situation. This was predicted two years ago. See you soon.

      @sheba2011

Good morning. Fell asleep when I returned home (in bed) and when I awoke just a few minutes ago posted in the Trivia thread from yesterday. Things did not go as planned yesterday. I did go to the Farmer’s Market and this time they had some food to try. They had Argentine shrimp on sale and one of the owner’s wives was baking some in a pan for everyone to try. The Argentine shrimp I always seemed to pass, but this time I decided to try a sample. As you said earlier to xango, “nothing like fresh fish on a hot summer day.” Well,l I did try it and it was delicious. I then went on to the dessert and bread section and picked up chocolate chip cookies for hubby. Two minutes later I was at checkout and then things started to happen. The inside of my mouth became extremely sore. The pain and the itch unbearable. I couldn’t wait to get to the van. I knew right away that this was an allergy attack from sulfites. The shrimp was the culprit. I realized, too late that there had to be preservatives in that frozen shrimp and that is why I never purchased it. So, before putting everything in the car I popped a chlortab and a Benadryl. Then I unloaded some things into a cooler that had an ice pak. The pain and itch started to go away. Phew, that was the end of that. By this time I was running late and so I went directly to rehab and brought the cooler with the cart. Hubby was in a wheelchair. Oh, forgot one thing. This is so funny. The receptionist mentioned that my hubby was in the wheelchair and made it to the front door and proceeded to want out. Said he wanted to go home. Hmm. Cute and sad at the sametime. But, there was a question. How was he going to get home when I wasn’t there yet???? He had no idea what the weather was outside. Thankfully, one of the aids brought him back to his room. I unpacked the goodies in his room. He couldn’t wait to try the cookies. I also brought two huge blueberry muffins, homemade by the Amish for breakfast. Since he ate dinner, he wasn’t hungry for the grinder. I purchased a lobster roll for my dinner. But before I could sit down, he had opened the chocolate chip cookies and he gave me a small piece to try. They were still warm from the oven and it melted in your mouth. Within seconds I realized that this was a huge mistake. This time the pain and itch returned with such vengeance I had to sit down immediately. The pain more than I ever had before. Hubby knew what was happening and asked if I had my pills and I nodded yes. He was able to get my purse and handed it to me. He had water on the cart. I proceeded to take one benadryl and two chlortabs. I had to pop two more benadryls before the pain and the itch subsided. I was able to say hello to everyone in Trivia and said I would be leaving shortly. That’s the last I remember. I awoke at 10:15 pm, grabbed my things and drove home. However, the head nurse/office mgr. was still there and hubby told him what happened. He gave me his cell phone number and asked that I call when I got home, which I did. I also remembered that I had left the grinder for hubby on the bureau and mentioned this to him. He said he would put it in their refrigerator and he will have it for lunch. And now you know the rest of the story. I awoke just a few minutes ago. Must have fallen asleep at the computer. I think I will get some more shuteye. This time in bed. No pain. No itch. The swelling on my jawline is gone. Happy person I am. Have not had an attack like this in years. Will write more either today or tomorrow. Take care and enjoy the day.
Let Poppy out back if you still have triple digits unless you get him some booties. The hot sun on the pavement not conducive to paws. You may want to purchase a kiddie pool for your backyard at night. The racoons love it and some cats enjoy the water as well.

OZ had a thunderstorm so far no one has serious injuries but the trees are huge.

A lot work will need to be done for a few weeks. The news showed trees uplifted
from the roots. What a sight well we had some good rain.

The Importance of Seeing the Good in All

There is a perceptible energetic shift that takes place when we choose to see the good in all.

Our perception shapes the lives we lead because the universe adjusts itself almost instantly to our expectations. When we look for negativity, we are bound to come across it in abundance. Conversely, we create positive energy when we endeavor to see the goodness around us. As easy as it is to criticize the people and situations that frustrate or hurt us, we do ourselves a disservice in the process. It is important to see the good in all as there are blessings hiding in every aspect of our outer reality and the potential for grace exists in all human beings. When our lives are flooded with challenges, grief, and pain, we may be tempted to believe that some individuals or incidents are simply bad. But if we look for the good in all, good reveals itself to us, easing our doubts and reminding us that the universe is a place of balance.

There is a perceptible energetic shift that takes place when we choose to see the good. The unnecessary tension that comes from dwelling on negativity fades away and is replaced by sympathetic tolerance. Though loss still grieves us, we recognize the beginning of a new phase with fresh opportunities. Each new challenge becomes another chance to prove ourselves, and we learn to show great patience in the face of difficulty. There are few pleasures greater than gazing outward and seeing beauty, wisdom, and harmony. These are the attributes of the universe that help us to cope when we encounter their opposing forces. AMEN! 🌹✨

      Cruel Summer
      Song by Bananarama

Hot summer streets and the pavements are burning
      I sit around
Trying to smile but the air is so heavy and dry
Strange voices are sayin’ (what did they say?)
      Things I can’t understand
It’s too close for comfort, this heat has got right out of hand
It’s a cruel, (cruel) cruel summer
Leavin’ me here on my own
      It’s a cruel, (it’s a cruel) cruel summer
      Now you’re gone
The city is crowded, my friends are away
      And I’m on my own
It’s too hot to handle, so I got to get up and go
It’s a cruel, (cruel) cruel summer
Leavin’ me here on my own
      It’s a cruel, (it’s a cruel) cruel summer

      It’s a cruel, (it’s a cruel) cruel summer
      Now you’re gone
      It’s a cruel, cruel summer
Leaving me here on my own
      It’s a cruel, cruel summer
      Now you’re gone
      You’re not the only one
It’s a cruel, (cruel) cruel summer
(Leavin’ me) leavin’ me here on my own

Summertime – Louie Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald

Summertime and the livin’ is easy
Fish are jumpin’ and the cotton is high
Oh, your daddy’s rich and your ma is good lookin’
So hush little baby, don’t you cry
      One of these mornings
You’re goin’ to rise up singing
      Then you’ll spread your wings
      And you’ll take the sky
      But till that morning
There’s a nothin’ can harm you, yeah
With daddy and mammy standin’ by
Summertime and the livin’ is easy
Fish are jumpin’ and the cotton is high
Oh, your daddy’s rich and your ma is good lookin’
So hush little baby, yeah don’t you cry, don’t cry

      The Warmth Of The Sun
      Song by The Beach Boys

      What good is the dawn
      That grows into day
      The sunset at night
      Or living this way
For I have the warmth of the sun
      (Warmth of the sun)
      Within me at night
      (Within me at night)
      The love of my life
      She left me one day
      I cried when she said
“I don’t feel the same way”
Still I have the warmth of the sun
      (Warmth of the sun)
      Within me tonight
      (Within me tonight)
      I’ll dreams of her arms
      And though they’re not real
      Just like she’s still there
      The way that I feel
My love’s like the warmth of the sun
      (Warmth of the sun)
      It won’t ever die
      (It won’t ever die)

      @sheba2011

I got a few things done this morning. Garbage and recycle went out without a problem. Decided to relax and fell asleep, but managed to get one side of our front door done and will do the other tomorrow. It looked like rain most of the day, but, as usual, nothing happened. It was hot, but not as humid. The clouds were a gorgeous puffy white and the blue sky was just amazing.

Decided not to purchase an Italian grinder for hubby. After hearing what he weighed yesterday, I thought of doing a real good treat and so I went on line and took a look at different menus. After much thought went with the new Italian place near us and called in an order. Got hubby pork chops with linguini and for myself clams and shrimp with linguini. The food was hot and the bag was not that easy to carry because of the heat coming through it. I didn’t use the cart this time and just used the bag that the food was in. It was easy to carry even though I had to change the hands every so often.

Arrived in hubby’s room only to find that the cart had tipped over and his dinner was all over the place on the floor. Broken dishes everywhere. I almost fell as I slipped on soda and water that had gone every which way on the floor. I immediately rang for help and at the same time checked to make sure hubby was OK. He was. What must have happened is that the food was brought in and hubby was in a prone position in bed. No one thought to put him into a sitting position or to help him sit up. Consequently, eating was precarious. After the cleanup I had to ask for them to help hubby get into a good position to eat. I thought for sure they would have brought another plate, but they did not. Thank goodness I bought two meals. There were two pork chops and hubby ate the entire thing. My dinner was excellent. I do not know if I can top this. The food was awesome and they even threw in Italian homemade bread. I forgot to bring the battery operated candles. Definitely will not forget next time. And yes, I will be contacting the restaurant tomorrow to say thank you. Best of all, hubby had no shakes and was very coherent.

I was able to get in touch with the Urology Department and spoke to the Assistant. I explained the situation and that an appointment could be made when hubby is able to get out of the wheelchair and be able to lift himself on to the table. Otherwise I will have to find a medical group to drive him to Tampa for the hour and a half procedure. Not an easy feat when you are dealing with bumper to bumper traffic due to construction. She was amazed at what I was going through and said she would check on it and get back to me. She will leave a message if I am out and about. The rehab has people who can help hubby get out of the chair and on to the table. Right now I can h onestly say that hubby is doing better and is staying hydrated. However, I forgot to mention to the nurses that he needed water by the bedside and there was a bottle of water on the night stand that I forgot to leave on his cart. Shucks…….there is no way for me to call in. It’s after 7pm and everything is shut down phone wise.

It just dawned on me that the food stayed nice and hot from the time I picked it up until we could enjoy it about 45 minutes later. There is absolutely no excuse why the kitchen people cannot keep the food warm from the time it leaves the prep area until it reaches the patient. So glad I had the backup plan. It worked out well.

Have a great night and enjoy the moon. Stay cool.

      The Insect Kingdom

As we work together with the insect kingdom, we allow ourselves to be in harmony with the earth and the pulse of nature.

A change of season may bring about a change in the insect activity in and around your home. Rather than heading for the fly swatter or bug spray or calling the exterminator, try working with the insect kingdom, rather than fighting it. Making this choice on a conscious level puts you in touch with nature, allowing you to create harmony within your ecosystem.

Insects “bug” us for shelter, water, or food, but they can also come into our lives to bring us a message. Though many cultures have decided what insects represent to them, you may be able to decipher their message just by thinking about their attributes. For example, bees may be telling you to communicate psychically with your family or to spread your talents like pollen. Their buzzing could be warning you about someone who could sting you or reminding you to stop and smell the flowers. Once you get their message, they may leave on their own. But if they don’t, you may want to spend a few days patiently inviting them to leave. In meditation or aloud, explain that this is your home and that the insect world is outdoors. While you understand their hunger and thirst, you will provide them with a designated place outside. Be sure to offer them appropriate food and make a commitment to replenish the supply regularly. You can even make a ceremony of it: Choose a time such as sunset every Sunday or every full moon, then create a line of demarcation around your home (or perhaps on your window sills if you live in an apartment or similar) with sage or by sprinkling some herbs before giving your offering. This serves the dual purpose of keeping your bargain with your insect neighbors and keeping you in sync with nature’s cycles.

As we make the decision to respect nature, whether inside our homes, outside enjoying a picnic, or while gardening, we acknowledge that we all share the earth and need each other for our mutual survival. As we work together, we learn how to live in harmony with all living beings.

      AMEN! 😎✨
