Conversation – 19
Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is number 19 out of the
series. I created and started this thread nearly 10 years ago.
I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe. 🌹✨😎

@oodiebom🏝🏝🏝
Hi, hope you are trying to stay somewhat cool in this heat.
I read your posts, thank you for the information.
There’s much I can’t do, due to my hip. Usually the back pain I always get would be a lower back pain. This one was upper back, on both sides. Like having someone grabbing your upper back on both sides. Good thing the severe pain is now is just sore.The farmers market you go to sounds marvelous. I am enjoying all the Summer fruit I can get my hands on. The cherries and chreey-plums are so delicious. I like to eat lots of fruit of my meals. Which pretty much consists of chicken, fish and fruit. A nice piece of grilled chicken or roast in the oven and a large mango or papaya it’s a great meal for me.
Take care Oodiebom 🏝🏝🏝🏝 -
@Sheba🌺🌺🌺
Hello Sheba, it’s another hot day, enough though it’s been cloudy for most of the day.
Funny thing is, my friend who lives in Ecuador, sent me pictures snow ❄️ in the area he lives. Brazil is also having very cold days.Hubby stopped by Publix and got fried fish and chicken strips. I made red lentils pasta and vegetables.
Take care 🌹

I am getting ready to stop at Costco. I need a few things and then some. I met with the person who does our landscaping and asked for two bushes to be taken down. One is at the foot of our driveway and needs to be cut down every other month so I can see the street. The other one has a tree growing inside that the birds must have produced. If I take the tree out, there goes the shrub. I asked as a replacement: an azalea, or a butterfly plant, or a snowball. He and his crew will be out sometime next week to take care of things.
I will try to write more later. Meanwhile, glad you are looking out for the critters. I think a Kiddy pool would be great for the critters while the temps are in triple digits. Though the temps remain in the 90s in Florida, the humidity brings the temps up and the reality is that we are in triple digits as well. We have had some rain, but not enough to make a dent in the drought situation. We are cloudy today with a chance of rain. Humidity is low.

I left you another note in yesterday’s thread. Please be careful. Hubby had a similar problem last month. Do not know what caused it, as last month he was in bed most of the time. Hubby has had back problems since the day we met. Sometimes the pain so unbearable he had to crawl on all fours to get around. However, he did see an orthopedist and he ordered a back brace for him. This physician was also a surgeon and did not recommend surgery. He was afraid that surgery would be worse. Thankfully, he followed this doctor’s advice. Take it easy. When the weather changes, you should be feeling better.

Leading by Example
Leading by example is inspiring, not only for those whom you lead but also for yourself.
We all know from experience that we can’t change other people, yet most of us have a tendency to try. This is because we naturally feel the need to do something to change situations that we find troubling. It often doesn’t occur to us that the best way to create change is not to try to convince others to change but to change ourselves. When we make adjustments from within, we become role models for others, and leading by example is much more inspiring than a lecture or an argument.
We sometimes look outside ourselves for what’s wrong with the world, but the outside world is really just a mirror reflecting us back to ourselves. When we encounter negativity — anger or fear — we empower ourselves by looking for its roots inside of ourselves.
For example, if you have a friend who is unreliable, observe yourself and notice if there are ways in which you are unreliable. You may be surprised to discover that you have your own struggles with this issue. Once you own the issue yourself, you can begin to work for change within you. This will also enable you to have more compassion for your friend. At the very least, as you strive to become more reliable, you will become more of the person you want to be. In the best-case scenario, you will be an inspiration to others.
You can apply the same method to larger issues. For example, if there is something you see in the larger world that you would like to change — let’s say, greed — try taking responsibility for changing it in yourself. Instead of being angry with those you see as greedy, seek out the roots of your own greed and come to terms with your power to transform it. This may be the best way to lead the world toward greater moderation and generosity. AMEN! ✨✨
