Good Afternoon in Florida. I want to thank you again for the B-Day wishes and the
songs. 😘😎🌹My family and I went to early Mass today. We had a nice breakfast
now everyone is resting up to go back out later on today. ✨It’s nice to have our
kids home. 💕 Can you guess the Wizard of OZ is one their favorite movies as I taught
them all they need to know. All of our kids were born in OZ. ✨😘 I hope they all move
back but after College the job market was hot in Atlanta or nearby. I have to say the
kids have done really well. 💕🌹

I am having a nice B-Day Weekend. I do have a small connection to the movie Wizard
of OZ as a young girl I worked with Ray Bolger the Scarecrow in the Movie and he was
so nice this was when I was with a Philharmonic Company and I loved it. 💕🌹

Good day on the Gulf Coast of Florida. 🌹💕✨How are things going for you today?
Our son and daughter are still here in OZ they leave Monday Night. I have enjoyed
our kids so much. We did go out to eat and did some shopping and this and that. 😘😎

We are about to get into the wind pretty soon. So far I have had a great weekend.
I still have my dad on my heart and in it. 💕

This is what we watched on DVD Blu-Ray last night I know it’s corny but we love it. 💕✨
The kids know there is no place like home. 🌹

I went to rehab yesterday with a cooler (bought another one from Costco. Could not resist the color) and used three ice paks. Packed a grinder, an appetizer, fruit and other things found in the frig. When I arrived, hubby was asleep and his beard had been shaved completely. It wasn’t until he awoke that I noticed a complete change. He looked and talked like my hubby. His voice was back to normal and I was able to hear every word. He seemed stronger, though he could not open a bottle of water. At least he tried. he has been eating better as well and did not want the grinder. I need to renew his Driver’s License and that is the question for tomorrow. At the moment he will not be able to get behind the wheel and of course this upsets him. However, with medication he might be able to enjoy this again, but for now, his reflexes are not that good. I just need to know what to do and how to go about getting him an ID with a picture.

Sometime this week I will be contacting the Orthopedist and to see if there is anything I can do to help him get in and out of bed on his own and be able to walk to the “library.” Of course most of this depends upon the results of the bladder test. Thank goodness this test is non evasive and requires no anesthesia.

I am doing OK. Just poor sleep habits. At least I have been falling asleep in bed and not at the computer. The swelling in my ankle is now down completely and aches occasionally. Other than that I’m OK. My eyesight is more acute. Must be Andrew’s vitamins. I will know better at the end of the month when I start seeing the physicians again. I held off due to hubby’s illness and me with a possible 2nd time around with Covid. I never had the test because I was too ill to drive and though my neighbor offered, I didn’t want her to catch what I had.

Tomorrow I will make a stop at Lowe’s to look at the microwaves. Currently I have an LG and not sure if I will go that route again. This one lasted 6 yrs.. The one prior over 10.. The biggest problem is the charge for installation and of course that will be needed. Right now the LG is over the range and I am contemplating on one that sits on the counter. It’s just because it will be easier to watch the process and easier to clean. At least it won'[t be necessary to use a step stool. At least seeing the models will help with the decision making.

Oz is warm today we had some slight rain and it was good. The kids are loving
the plants, flowers and yards. I wish all of our children could return home. ✨

I gave them wings so they could fly and I taught them how to be good people.

Well I am going to wind it down with my family it has been an amazing day. 🌹😘💕
I want to thank all the women on this thread who have been through some tough times
with me. Thank you for your support when I had Breast Cancer and of course dangerous
pre cancer polyps. I had this during the Covid – 19 lockdown. I don’t know how I did it
but with your help and support I made it through. I had treatments every day for 4 weeks
along with surgery. I am doing great so far. I lost my dad just three years ago and the last
we spoke was on my Birthday he passed two days later. So this is a bittersweet day.

Thank you for when my husband and I developed Covid-19 just a few months ago. I was concerned
but I was going to fight it. I have other conditions that is not good for Covid-19. I do still
mask up and will continue to do so this is for my health right now I am very healthy. 🌹

My faith keeps me grounded I know my father is in a better place I just miss him so much. 💕😘
I love you Daddy forever and always. 🌹

My family has been very supportive and we love each other. I am know in the works on
plans to visit my mother and family in Colorado and I can’t wait. 💕😘Love you Mommy.

Thank you all for your birthday wishes I do appreciate you and the time you post on this
thread. No my little thread will not change the world but you may giggle a little or smile
every now and then. 😘

I think I did mention it but it was done on a routine check up. I had to schedule with a specialist
and it was one and done that was a couple of years ago. I am so glad I have a great Primary
Care Doctor that I have been with for 20 years she is good. 🌹✨

Thank you for a nice post I do appreciate it. I did mention it but it was over before I knew it.
I did not have time to worry. My doctor ordered this procedure as a caution and she
was right. This was a couple of years ago. I thank god I am in good health today. 😘✨

Good day in Florida I hope this is a nice day for you and hubby. Surprise I have two of our

I received groceries from Kroger today, they were out of some items. Mostly fresh vegetables and fruits. I have noticed in the few last times the vegetables and fruits weren’t very fresh as in last year and in the beginning of the year. I am not sure what’s going on.
I decided to make some Ciabatta bread, it’s raising for the first 30 minutes.

I made it to the Farmers Market. Really hungry.. Tried anew fruit called Korean Watermelon.it’s yellow with orange stripes going around the outside. It’s small in size. But very tasty. I purchased two. The inside is crunchy like an Asian pear. I also purchased dinner for both of us. I ate half of mine. Hubby had already eaten so will take his home and try again tomorrow.

Now getting ready to leave. Hubby is cold.

I am now home. Will unload the car in a few minutes. Have tons of groceries. I am now finding it difficult to leave hubby at a late hour. I am constantly looking at the vehicles behind me and to the side. Also, the street lights are not that great and my eyesight finds it difficult. I use the brights whenever possible and turn them off frequently because I do not want to blind the drivers coming towards me or the ones in front.

Just dawned on me that the Korean watermelon is just a tad larger than the Dragon fruit. I will cut a few pieces for hubby when I arrive at the Rehab tomorrow. Today was a great day. His memory and humor were intact. I can tell he is eating right.

Nothing like being in a strange country and taking a fall. I think it was a good idea that your neighbor was flown home. A lot of times the American Health Insurance does not cover accidents out of the country. One needs to keep receipts and pay the cost out of pocket. She must have broken that leg in many parts and not having the proper care prior and on the plane could have done more harm that good. I am glad she is able to get around. I’m positive it will be a slow progress. A swimming pool will certainly help mend that leg a lot quicker. Of course she will need the approval from her physician .

Guess I will now go out to the van and unload. I didn’t see a moon on the way home. Did see a helicopter overhead with their search lights. Try to stay cool. And, as I look at the clock, it is almost time for your birthday. I know it’s not easy. But, rest assure, your dad is away from all the illnesses that made life so difficult. In his mind, he wanted you to remember him as he was, not one to lie in bed and watch him suffer. I think he held on so you could enjoy your birthday. Something that is totally hard to do under the circumstances. It may help to visit the cemetery. Then again, he may visit you tomorrow and make you smile. Take care, Sheba.

Kansas farmer plants 1.2M sunflowers to surprise wife for 50th anniversary

A farmer decided to surprise his wife with a special anniversary gift. For their golden anniversary, Lee Wilson planted 80 acres of sunflowers on their farm in Platt, Kansas.

That works out to about 1.2 million flowers in their southern Kansas farm.

The couple will celebrate their 50th anniversary on Aug. 10. Wilson was trying to figure out a special gift when the perfect idea germinated in his head.

“What’s a guy get his gal on their 50th?” Wilson told KAKE. “And I put a lot of thought into it and she always liked sunflowers and I thought this is the year to plant sunflowers so we planted her 80 acres of sunflowers.”

Wilson planted the field in May on the sly, enlisting his son’s help so his wife, Renee Wilson, would not find out, according to the television station.

“It made me feel very special,” Renee Wilson told KAKE. “It couldn’t have been a more perfect anniversary gift than a field of sunflowers.”

Sunflowers are definitely appropriate in Kansas, as it is the official state flower.

The sunflower field now looks like a rolling carpet of yellow on the south side of Highway 54, according to “Good Morning America.”

It is a heartwarming gift of love, which began when Lee Wilson met his future wife in high school.

Lee Wilson said the sunflower field will not be an annual anniversary gift.

“Oh it’s been fun but I think one time is enough for us,” he told the television station. “It’s somebody else’s turn next year.”

It’s always nice to have hubby working from home. Of course it has its disadvantages for me. I can’t make any noise, and I turned down house phone. He does work more hours at home.
He starts earlier than he actually have to, doesn’t take time off for lunch. He eats his lunch at his desk and sometimes stay on the computer later than he has to helping other workers when its time to quit. Next week he will be driving to work again.

I found a Brazilian store in Amazon, it carries some products I like. I ordered a tapioca called Sagu large tapioca pearls. It’s for a Brazilian dessert made with red wine. And it’s served with a vanilla cream sauce. I noticed they also use one small package of Tang grape 🍇 juice in powder form, to make the pearls more darker grape color.

Good morning. It’s after 3 am and I fell asleep while reading some news in bed. I awoke to brush teeth and to get into pjs. Went to Costco today to pick up a few things and to get gas. I was stunned when I was at the gas area to find gas was $3.59 which was just $.30 less than all of the gas stations including the ones near the rehab. I picked gas up last week and it was $3.18, I grocery shop weekly and as of now I will be curtailing that adventure whenever possible.

Yesterday, I answered your question on the urology appointment. It’s under the Wednesday posts. However, I will reiterate. I never received the call from Urology and decided to wait until I reached the Rehab to see if the nurse had contacted the head nurse/office mgr.. When I arrived, I was greeted with “I have the info on the appointment.” Hubby will have the bladder test on the 14th and the follow up on the 18th. I am hoping that everything is in working order. The main reason why the Rehab has him with the catheter is because he takes too long in the bathroom. There are other areas he can use and one is across from his room. The other one is in the lobby which one uses a key. In all fairness, if he was able to walk, it would not have been a problem and at the time he was not aware of other facilities.

Costco has reduced quite a few clothing for summer. I was able to pick up shorts for hubby and a few knock around tops for me. Unlike some other warehouses, there is no shrinkage when washed in warm water. Looks like they are saving a small area for books. I love being able to sit in an area getting engrossed in a novel while hubby was doing his thing. It’s like being transported to different areas of Earth and for some reason I feel like I’ve been on a mini awaycation.

I also got a good jolt when Fem and TACI learned that their birthday is on the same day. I felt the same way as TACI for many years. I believe I mentioned that both of us were members of the Lions Club. When hubby was about to become a Vice District Governor, we had a meeting in MA. to learn what that year was about. There were members from New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, Ct. , R.I.. This was a three day event that ran from Friday thru Sunday. On the last day all the wives gathered in the lobby where we had an opportunity to get to know one another. The person sitting next to me was from New Hampshire. Found out she was married the same year as us and the same day. Imagine that!!!!!. Sitting next to her was one of the wives from Ct. (Ct. was divided into three districts: A, B and C). Hubby was District C and the other person sitting next to New Hampshire was District B. We started chatting next about birthdays. Lo and Behold the wife from B was born on the same day as me. What a coincidence that was. And all of us celebrated our anniversaries and birthdays up until a few years ago when their husbands passed almost at the same time. It’s a “small world” after all.

As I left Costco a miracle happened. I felt a few raindrops as I was loading the van with all the goodies. On the way to the Rehab the skies opened up. What a downpour. But just 4 miles from Costco absolutely nothing until I unloaded with the food items and used the DBest. As I was walking to the entrance, the skies started to open up, but I didn’t get wet or felt a drop. They had their awning up and so I was under cover when things changed. And another miracle, it also rained at our home. Loads of puddles. But, unfortunately, we still have a drought situation. But this was a good beginning. When I was going through the rain, I thought of “Raindrops on Roses….”

Rediscovering Dance

Our bodies were made to move and flow, and within our movement we find a deeper connection to our bodies and the earth.

As children, most of us were encouraged to dance on a regular basis, freely and openly, in whatever way felt best. A few of us may have retained or regained our ability to engage in dancing unselfconsciously, but by the time we reach adulthood, many of us have stopped dancing altogether. We may have hang-ups about our bodies, or we may fear being judged. Then again, we may simply have fallen out of the habit for so long that we don’t even realize we never dance anymore. Whatever the case, there’s no time like now to rediscover the healing pleasure of moving your body to music—alone, as part of a couple, or in a group. Opportunities to dance abound, once you start looking for them.

If you haven’t danced in a long time and feel too self-conscious to start in a public situation, find some time alone to reintroduce yourself to the joy of listening and responding to music with your body. Turn the lights down low and remember that it’s much more fun when you’re not thinking about what you look like. It won’t take long before your body remembers how much it loves to move. Feel the music in your soul, feel the vibrations healing your body. Treat the time like a meditation session in which you agree to allow yourself to fully inhabit your amazing body.

If you feel awkward, remember that every culture since time immemorial has celebrated life and the body with dance. All people carry the memory of dance in their blood and bones. In other words, you were born to do this, it is in you already; all you have to do is start moving. If you prefer more interaction, take a class one night a week. In most cities, you can find everything from modern dance to African dance to ballroom and salsa. Whatever you choose, you won’t regret choosing to rediscover your birthright—the healing, joyful thrill of dancing.

Hello Sheba, we are having a light rain as I type this. I hope it becomes stronger and truly pour down lot and lots of rain.
I made black beans today. I was talking with my cousin yesterday. She mentioned she was cooking some and I though, that sounds good. Even though it’s Winter there and we are very hot here, it’s still delicious having Black beans and rice.

The Moon last night was in between a haze of clouds, it would peek out a little. This morning as daylight was starting the Moon was high in the sky and beautiful. It was just perfect, it wasn’t so faded and still orange/yellow kind of glowing.

No rain yesterday and the humidity was over 90%. Seems those clouds head North instead of South. Oh well, maybe today.

The Urology Group did not contact me yesterday (Wednesday).. However, they did call the Rehab and spoke with the head nurse/unit mgr.. Hubby has the test scheduled for August 14th and a follow up appointment on the 18th. On the 14th a person will drive him to the app’t. and help him on to the bed/or whatever. They will pick him up when it is over. I will be there with a book in the waiting area just in case he needs something. I will return to the rehab to make sure he is all right following the test. I know he will need to either sit in a tub or be in a shower once he returns. On Friday is the follow up and to see what we can do on the catheter situation. Hoping that the bladder is working OK and surgery is not needed.

I also forgot to tell you a story from either Sunday or Monday when I drove to Culver’s to pick up dinner for 3 (that’s including myself). After eating I had put my glasses on the table while I was clearing and washing the table. Hubby wanted to return to his room and so I went to retrieve my glasses that were on the table. They were no where to be found. I checked my purse, the bag I carried and even the wastebasket to no avail. Hubby’s friend also helped. Neither of us could figure out where they had gone. That was until the friend motioned to me to look at hubby. With the dementia I didn’t think he would do anything. But his shirt had a pocket and there in the pocket were my glasses. His remark was “I had you looking didn’t I???”
I could have pounced or used an expletive, but he was laughing and his laughter was very contagious. I now see he is up to his old tricks. But at the time all I was thinking was how I would be able to drive home without them.

Well, it is now time to get out of work clothes. I need to stop at the pharmacy for a refill and then on to Costco.; I am looking for a new microwave and using the Internet. Thank goodness they have a few on sale. For now, I will either use the toaster oven or the Air Fryer and worse comes to worse, the stove.

So sorry to hear about your neighbor. I hope the Greece airport is helping to defray all the costs. What a way to spend your summer vacation. Here’s hoping that things open up and she can start feeling better. I know your visit will bring joy to her, even if it’s only a few minutes.

I am now getting ready to go out and about. I did a few things around the house and made another small dent. My microwave died last night when I was about to make dinner. There are a fee on sale, but not the one I want. However, will stop at a few appliance centers tomorrow. along with the Farmer’s Market.

Have not heard from the Urology people and hoping they contacted the head nurse/unit mgr. I have a doctor appointment the end of this month. I hope they don’t choose that date, however, my doctor is a short distance away, so it may not be a problem.

Hope you and Poppy have a great afternoon. Tomorrow is Recycle and garbage. I have quite a few things for both. Stay cool . No rain is in sight as yet. Seems you are getting the storms we used to thrive on. Humidity today is 98%. Not liking this at all.

Neighbor was sleeping and her helper said I could come back later. I will call first
as I have her phone number and she is walking really slow. I know she is still healing.

I would be devastated if I got off of a plane in Greece for my vacation and I had a bad
fall in the airport and they had to take me back to the states. My friend never made it
out of the Greece Airport she is a world traveler I mean this lady is always on the go.
I will check in with her tomorrow to see if she needs anything. 🌹Oodie she has been
in a rehab since early June I will get the full story when I visit her I will not take Poppy
she likes Poppy but I don’t want to have Poppy move or make too much noise.

Hello Oodie, thank you for your post. Sorry about your microwave. It’s a good idea to look on line and call the various stores to see if they have it on the floor for you to see them.
I so glad things are moving along for your husband’s appointment. Hopefully soon he will get the testing done.
It’s been hard to get appointments post Pandemic. Doctors were already very busy before, but now it’s twice as hard. It seems like they all have their phone going to voice mail. I still have a few more to get, slowly but surely.
Here’s wishing you and your husband all lockso he can get things done and over to be home soon.

Sheba, thank you again! Best birthday party! We decided to have lunch instead of dinner since it was so hot and then I could hike later. It’s so sweet how my family is so nice to me on my birthday. Hubs went with me hiking, and wanted to ditch the hard part but there was no way that was possible so he trudged along. It was still hot at 6 pm. That was love. I tried to give him some outs beforehand and told him after it was the best hour he spent.

Very sorry about your friend who fell at the Greece airport. I hope she is doing better. Breaking bones sounds quite painful. I get anxious whenever we fly for this reason. Especially when we landed at Heathrow and had a long walk, then a bus, and then walked again, and then had a maze and the screening issues (I had) were absurd. Told hubs I don’t want to go through that airport again. We are planning our next vacation and will try to avoid it. I can see how there are many opportunities for slips, and falls. Hopefully, your neighbor can go again in the future.

Good afternoon in the beautiful ‘burgh. Lady you will not believe what happened to
my neighbor across the street from me. This lady is professor at University. Well in
June she was off to Greece for a vacation and fell in the Greece Airport broke three
bones in her leg and had to be sent back to American for treatment. My friend
has been in a rehab for over two months she came home this weekend. ✨

I will be visiting her later today if she is up to it.

I hope your husband enjoy his trip with his buddies. Enjoy your mother and sister
and have a great time. 😘😎

Everything Is in Divine Order

It is during the most difficult times that we need to trust and find solace that, in fact, things are in divine order.

We can only see so much from where we sit in our particular bodies, in the midst of our particular lives, rooted as we are in the continuum of space and time. The divine, on the other hand, is not limited to the constructs of either space or time, and its wisdom and workings often elude us as we try to make sense of what is happening in our lives. This is why things are not always what they seem to be and even the best-laid plans are sometimes overturned. Even when we feel we have been guided by our intuition every step of the way, we may find ourselves facing unexpected loss and disappointment. At times like these, we can find some solace in trusting that no matter how bad or just plain inexplicable things look from our perspective, they are, in fact, in divine order.

Even as we take our places in this earthly realm, a part of us remains completely free of the confines we face here. Regardless of what is happening in our lives, this part of us remains infused with joy and gratitude, connected to the unbroken source from which we come. Our small self, on the other hand, who is caught up in our false identity as a being limited in space and time, regards happiness as the result of things going the way it wants them to go. It is this part of us that suffers the greatest confusion and upset when the logic of events does not compute. And it is to this self that we must extend unconditional love, forgiveness, and compassion. In order to do this, we tap into our inner divinity, holding the space of a tender authority, extending love and light to our ego as a mother extends her love to a troubled child.

There are many ways to access our inner divinity — meditation, prayer, chanting, channeling, and conscious breathing, to name a few. It is helpful to develop a regular practice that provides us access to this all-powerful, healing presence, as it can be difficult to reach once we are in a stressful position, if we have not already established a connection. The more connected we are with this part of ourselves, the more we share its unlimited vision and the secure, knowing that all the things of our life, no matter how they appear, are in a state of divine and perfect order.

Hello Sheba, Happy August first and Full Moon 🌝 🌕
The Moon was shining into my bathroom last night, it looked so lovely and a perfect round glowing ball.
Hubby and I had a long day yesterday, I got home very tired. It didn’t help that I didn’t sleep well the night before. However I went to bed yesterday early and got a good sleep and I am now well rested.
We stopped in Publix Supermarket yesterday and got some beautiful vine ripe tomatoes and Burrata Mozzarella cheese. Publix is a Florida base with headquarters in Lakeland Florida. Publix was founded in 1930, is a private corporation that is owned by present and past employees and members of the Jenkins family.
I made a diced tomatoes marinated in olive oil with Thyme, Oregano and sea salt flakes.
I am now toasting bread with olive oil and will rub a big fat garlic glove on each piece of bread once it comes out of the oven when it’s real hot. Top with the tomatoes and the Burrata cheese on top with more olive oil and a little sea salt. It’s going to be delicious 😋
I forgot to mention the other day, I really enjoyed reading about the story of Art , Arthur “Art” Garfunkel, and his friend Sandy its a beautiful story.
When mom and I visited Brazil in 1972, we stayed with friends for a week. They were both teachers but didn’t speak English. I was asked to translate the song The Sounds of Silence . It was a project for me, I was only 15 and my Portuguese was not very good back then, lol ☺️.

I can’t believe one of my Sage container outside has grown so much with lots of gaint leaves. So is my Bay leaf tree, the tree has stayed small. I think it’s because I haven’t transplanted into a larger pot. But this year some of the leaves are huge, like as if they came from a big tree that’s on the ground 😊

Thanks for the info on Publix. I didn’t realize that they are family owned. Thought the employees were the owners. No wonder they have a good reputation and great customer service.

Looks like I will need a new microwave. Went to use it this evening and nothing is working. I will check the plug in the morning. Electrical panel is OK in that area, though I did turn everything off in the kitchen. Guess it’s back to the homework on that one. I do not think it was more than 6 ys old. Seems nothing is built to last.

Hi. I am at the rehab. Received two phone calls from urology. The first was an apology and the second from the person who schedules the procedures. Another call tomorrow will give me the day, date and time for the bladder exam. FinalLy, my persistence played off.

I am home and just finished a late dinner. Hubby ate the rehab dinner and thus I didn’t need to go out. He is doing good and hope and pray it stays that way. After a few minutes he asked to return to his room. He was very tired and just wanted to curl up. I brought him and reluctantly we had to wait about an hour before someone could help him into bed. I covered him after realizing he was shivering. A few minutes later I could tell he was still chilled and I added a jacket to the mix and then went out looking for anyone who could give him extra covers. That took only 5 minutes. The problem is that the A/C is on too high ih his room. The vent is just overhead when he is in t he wheelchair sitting nest to the bed. I was sitting near the window and I was freezing. Funny, I have a sweater and two lap quilts in the van. Each day I think I should bring them inside the rehab and each day I say it’s two hot outside. Guess I’m not thinking clearly.

Well, I see you are on line. I now will do a few things around the house and will call iit a day. Oh, there was no moon tonight. Too many clouds. Not sure if those clouds will give us some much needed rain. Have a great evening. Stay cool.

Hi Oodie, I hope this finds you well and rested. You are amazing, you are a strong person who wears many hats.
Your wishes of good luck worked for both hubby and me yesterday. Things went as good as they could. Since I couldn’t sleep the night before, I only got two hours of sleep. That’s my fault I just couldn’t sleep, so I got home late afternoon extremely tired.

I hope your husband is doing better. Hopefully you’ll be able to get an appointment for your husband soon. Get the needed tests, and have your husband home soon.

Giving Excuses

When we offer nothing but excuses in our lives, we are not being honest with anybody, mostly ourselves.

Excuses may seem like rational reasons for us not to do something, but if we’re not careful, we can allow them to keep us from reaching our goals. Too often we accept our excuses as reasons why we cannot accomplish what we set out to do, and instead of finding alternatives, we give up. But if we can be honest with ourselves and take responsibility for our choices, we will begin to notice that we no longer give excuses. When we keep our minds focused on our goals, we will find that excuses fade away in the light of our priorities and issues become challenges that can help us become wiser and stronger.

Sometimes we may give others excuses rather than be fully honest. We may think it is kind to tell someone we are willing to do something with them, whether work or play, but then keep putting them off. This diverts our energy into keeping the truth at a distance while continuing a falsehood. But when we can take responsibility for our feelings and express them honestly but gently, the other person is free to find someone who is better suited to accompany them while we are free to pursue the things we like. When we can do this, our energy can be invested in building better lives and relationships.

There’s another way in which excuses rob us of energy — and that is in the power of our thoughts and words. If we find ourselves in a situation, for example, where we are being asked for a financial contribution but we use the excuse that we can’t afford it, we create and attract lack and limitation into our lives. The same goes for seemingly simple things like pretending to not feel well or any other false statement. We may think that excuses make things easier, but they complicate matters with smokescreens. When we can commit to our priorities, take responsibility for our choices, and communicate them honestly to others, there will be no need to make excuses, and we will have much more energy to dedicate to all the things we love. ✨

Good day in Florida. I did read your post from yesterday. Oz had some strong thunder storms
last night and all morning. The rain was needed no major damage to the trees. The thunder
was so loud I just put my head under the covers. Poppy was right by me he went to sleep.

Just saw your post from last night. Good luck to both of you on your tests and appointments. Hope all is well and hubby is OK.

I need to replenish some veggies in order to make the winter melon soup in summer. I will do that on Thursday and hopefully, will make it over the weekend. I am back to working on the house and going through some packages by the front door. Our kitchen is a total disaster since I decided to go through the cabinets once again. Everything is boxed up. I will be using Clean Boss on the cabinets inside and out. Sometime before Thursday I will clean the van. And when the temps cool I need to work on the lanai.

Hubby is OK. For the last three weeks I have been contacting the Urology department in order to make an appointment for hubby on the bladder. It’s a catch 22. If he cannot get on the table himself, then they want him to go to Tampa. Tampa is now either a 2 hour drive (instead of 45 minutes) or more due to construction and accidents. The rehab has someone who can help hubby get on to the table, but for some reason, there is a hesitation. Hoping that the head nurse/unit mgr will help this situation. I made another call just a few minutes ago and left a message.

Have a great day. I do not like the heat and humidity either. This is one time I would love to be North.

Hi and a good afternoon to you. Dark clouds only, no rain. That was yesterday and the same so far for today.

I left early yesterday to see hubby. The dementia from the day prior was gone. I was greeted not by a hello but, “did you bring a sandwich?” The time was about 3:30 pm. I mentioned that I was going to Costco for a hotdog but on my way decided to go and make a stop at Rehab. I just didn’t feel like a hotdog. So I asked what he felt like having. He mentioned that he had a yen for corned beef on rye with everything on it. There was another patient sitting in the TV/living room and he felt like a fish platter with ff. It sounded good. Then for dessert we settled on ice cream. It was an easy drive to Culver’s. And the dinner price was good for the three of us. I decided to pay for everyone. When I returned hubby was eating the Rehab dinner. He said it was good. The macaroni and cheese looked overdone, but he said it was real good. I have no idea what the round thing was, but he said that was good also. Thought he may no longer want the corned beef, but I was wrong. He ate that along with my cole slaw. I ordered the fish and ff also. I left the ff. I had two pieces of cod which were excellent. But the fries, just too many to eat. Hubby had two meals which he devoured along with chocolate ice cream. I had vanilla and so did the other person. Hubby started to fall asleep soon after, but did not want to go back to his room. I wheeled him back about an hour later and stayed with him until he fell asleep.

Today is garbage day and so far, no pick up. I am not complaining. This gives me a chance to throw in other things. Next pickup is Thursday along with recyclables.

51% chance of rain this afternoon. Not holding my breath. We did have heat lightning last night. It followed me home from the Rehab.

WE HAD RAIN!!!!😄😄😄A nice downpour. That explains my headache as I drove to rehab. Hubby is b good today. I brought the Costco “Connection” and for the first time in months he started reading. So thankful for the little things that show more progress.

Being Aware of Your Thoughts

We seldom accept negative comments from others; however, we so often accept our own inner negative chatter.

Few people enjoy the company of individuals whose attitudes are persistently negative. Yet many of us tolerate the critical chatter that originates in our own minds. Since we are so used to the stream of self-limiting, critical consciousness that winds its way through our thoughts, we are often unaware of the impact these musings have on our lives. It is only when we become aware of the power of such thoughts that we can divest ourselves of them and fill the emptiness they leave with loving, peaceful affirmations.

Many people, upon paying careful attention to their thought patterns, are surprised at the negativity they find there. But when we take notice of involuntary thoughts in a nonjudgmental way, we initiate a healing process that will eventually allow us to replace intimidating and upsetting self-talk with positive, empowering thoughts.

While the occasional downbeat or judgmental thought may have little impact on your contentment, the ongoing negativity that passes unnoticed can have a dampening effect on your mood and your outlook. When you are aware of the tone of your thoughts, however, you can challenge them. Try to be conscious of your feelings, opinions, and judgments for a single day. From sunup to sundown, scrutinize the messages you are feeding into your subconscious mind. Consider your thoughts from the perspective of a detached observer and try not to judge yourself based on the notions that come unbidden into your mind. Simply watch the flow of your consciousness and make a note of the number of times you find yourself focusing on gloomy notions or indulging in self-directed criticism.

As you become increasingly aware of your patterns of thought, whether positive and negative, you will gradually learn to control the character of your stream of consciousness. Always endeavor to remember that the images and ideas that pass through your mind are transient and not a true representation of who you are. In training yourself to be cognizant of your thoughts, you gain the ability to actively modulate your mood. The awareness you cultivate within yourself will eventually enable you to create a foundation of positivity from which you can build a more authentic existence. AMEN! ✨✨
