We are having brown outs in OZ due to the high temps. I just hope we don’t go totally
out as this is not the day we are super hot.

Hubby brought home Culvers last night during Trivia and we may get some Ice Cream

The A/C is working, just barely. The Tech needs to go under the house to check the duct work. The temp in the house is now at 86. The overhead fan is helping. I will be going into a shower shortly and then will visit hubby.

Terminix was here over an hour checking everything outside. He found quite a few holes and some areas around the foundation that are questionable. He and a crew will be here Tuesday to do what is needed to keep the critters from coming in. The person who repaired our lanai which included the screens will be back on Monday. Not sure if he will totally redo the area that is attached to the house. He may need to do that in order for me to know that the critters didn’t eat the electrical wiring and pipes. With hubby almost ready to return home, I want this house spic and span. Of course I will be using Joy’s Clean Boss.

Have an appointment with our family physician next week. Blood test Monday morning. Will also check with him on the Mam. I am behind these appointments because of hubby and I need to play catchup.

Next door neighbor had two pooches. They are cute and so friendly. However, the older one was rushed to the vet this morning. He has now crossed the rainbow bridge.

Rain is expected late tonight. I hope it’s all ok by Tuesday as I have a long drive to the south county to pick my son up at the airport (which I hear may close Sunday). I texted him he may have delays because of it.
I didn’t leave the house today, got the yard ready, did some cleaning.

Another beautiful day in the ‘burgh, getting hot tomorrow and we are, again, getting some smoke from Canada.😣 Guess I’ll be staying inside all day. Good luck with your brown outs, it’s always something. What a crazy weather year.🤪

Spent the afternoon and evening at the neighbor’s cookout. He is Italian and also has a huge garden so there was more than enough of my favorite foods.🍔🌭🍝🍅🌽 He just gave me some great tomatoes last week.

I’m sure sis will be watching the weather in Cali.⛈ Her and mom leave next Saturday for the cruise so I sure hope she has no damage to her condo.

I would tell your sister and mom to watch the tropics. There are 3 possibilities growing in the Atlantic that may be hurricanes on the return. Definitely watch the Caribbean and all ports that the ship stops at. I know the ship will be watching the tropics as well and there could be changes as you set sail or just prior to disembarking. This one reason why I do not book anything prior to the end of November/beginning of December. The ocean is very warm. I know on the Gulf, the ocean is 100 degrees which is warmer than my bath. We have been told not to go into the ocean due to bacteria. Oh how I miss looking for seashells. Just wanted to give you a heads up. I think I did this last year as well. I always enjoyed sitting on the balcony with a good book and food from the Lido Deck. Well, the clouds are starting to roll in. I better get a move on. Have a great afternoon. Mom and sis leave the worrying to the cruise line. Nothing they can do about the weather and they know the ship can change course. They are only going to Bermuda, not the Caribbean. I think sis is more worried about the hurricane in California. Right now it’s hard to plan any trip with all the crazy weather everywhere!

Oodie, Thanks for the tips. I know you are experienced with these types of storms. We have lots of flashlights, batteries and so forth. As for the roofs, well those are tile. Hubs did lots of roof repairs and replaced tiles after the last big rain so hopefully it will hold out. It is possible they could blow off in very high winds, although that has not happened in the past. Rain may start tomorrow but it’s forecast for Sunday and Monday. Thank you!

Oodie, glad to read things look good for your husband. Homes in FL really need a lot of attention. Hope you get some rest.

So sorry about Trivia. To say I am dog tired is an understatement. First of all, when I awoke this morning the house was quite warm. I checked the thermostat and it was 85 degrees, down from 88 or 89 from yesterday afternoon. I could not contact the A/C techs since I had to get ready for hubby’s appointment. I arrived about 10 minutes prior and had to wait for hubby. Once he arrived they took us almost immediately. The good news is that the bladder is working. The bad news is there is a small blockage. The only way to deal with it is through surgery which is scheduled the end of November. We are hoping for an earlier appointment. The good news is that the blockage is small and the surgery will be non invasive, but there is pain. So, he will be under anesthesia and then will spend one night in the hospital and the next day the catheter will be removed. From that point on the urologists agree that he will be back to normal, even better than before.

While waiting for hubby, I contacted the tech for the A/C. He said he would be out this afternoon. Funny, we both arrived at the same time. He checked everything and needs to also take a look at the duct work under the house. For some reason, there is a pile of water under the house. It could be a leak, or it may not. Hubby mentioned sometime ago that the elevation was done incorrectly and that is why we have a puddle near the car. We had a friend take a look when we first moved in and he mentioned that was the problem. If we ever have the driveway repaired that will be the time to look at everything.

I also contacted Terminix. The tech found mice remnants in our lanai and around the A/C. They will be here for an inspection tomorrow afternoon between 3 pm and 5 pm. The tech also could hear things either from another room or in the walls. And here I thought we were done with these critters. I may end up having someone come in for fumigate and return a few days later to double check our entire area which includes the exterior and interior. From that point on we will have a warranty. So all my cleaning was for naught. Looks like I will again start from scratch with all the cabinets in the kitchen and go throughout the house until done. I have been working in the morning and going to the rehab late afternoon.

The gentleman that I contacted to redo part of the lanai, will return on Monday. What we may do is take everything down that attaches to the house from the lanai. Check wiring as well as plumbing. The animals love wires and plastic. I do have a plumber and an electrician. All this sounds like a lot of work, but these guys work fast and everything could be completed in no time. May decide to have the interior painted as we go along. I am hoping that there are no serious problems. At the same time will add insulation as we go along.

That’s it for now. Going to check on TACi because of the incoming hurricane. I hope she and her family are safe.

Sheba, 💕 Luv you back! The trails were quite challenging but that makes me happy. It makes my husband miserable…haha but i tell him it’s the best hour of his day. I did my hike and then later went with hubs on an easier hike ( same area), He flew his drone after. Reporting that this is my first year with a tomato yield. I only found one horn worm and no other pests. The little tomatoes are fragrant. I could smell those and my Basil all day long.

Hope you had a great day. 3 digit temps are hot. Fall is almost here. Or as we say, almost time for Choco nuvo to start selling again. Haven’t quite decided on a mattress set or anything yet. Costco and Macy’s are my go-to though so will let you know.

Hurricane Hilary is headed our way as an expected tropical storm or cat1. We are expecting some heavy rain and winds but we shall see what happens. The rain may start tomorrow but the most is Sunday and Monday.

As a New Englander and now a somewhat Floridian, hurricanes can do much damage even as a Category 1. Here are more suggestions. My number one priority is the kitchen. I actually clean the freezer and when restoring, put things that I may use towards the front, especially when you think you may lose electricity. I also clean the frig section. When done I run to the market or wherever I can find ice and store in the freezer just in case. I also make sure I have ice packs frozen as well. In New England I do not fill the tub since we use bottled water. I also check the yard and our deck for things that can fly away. Yes, even a category 1 can do harm. Flying chairs, flower pots, tables are removed and put in a safe area or in the house. I also check areas indoors for potential damage if the rain is fierce with wind. Have pans and plastic bins ready just in case. I should have listened to my mind in Florida. Never thought I would have a skylight in our den and no roof whatsoever on the lanai.

On the Cape, I did container gardening on our deck. I planted tomatoes, summer squash, string beans, peas, flowers etc..I had flowers until the hard frost. The veggies stayed until the middle of November or when the real days of chill and frost began. It was tons of fun running from our dining room through our sliding glass door to pick the fruits of my labor. I found container gardening was easier than planting directly into the soil. For one thing we had fewer weeds and when we saw one it was easier to pull from a container rather than doing this in the soil. And yes, we did have those awful horned creatures on our tomato plants when I grew them in the soil. I was told to leave them alone because the plant itself would take care of the problem even if they died earlier than expected. I never had that problem the following year and never had the problem to begin with using a container.

Now I think I will try to get some shut eye. Busy day coming up. I did stop at Costco to purchase a few items and then went to the food court for the hotdog and soda, and a salad for me. Bought pizza for the head nurse. Speaking of Costco, you do not need to be a member to use the Food Court or their prescription drug area. I do not know if this also follows through for hearing and eye tests. Have a great day and even though you may get the tail end of this storm, it is always a good idea to be prepared just in case.

Just as we consciously create an environment within our homes, we can consciously choose to decorate life itself with our particular energy.

There are few things more thrilling than having a new house or an empty room to decorate. Our imaginations soar as we consider the many possibilities. In the same way, our lives offer us the opportunity to express ourselves within various contexts, to ask ourselves questions about what we want to see as we move through our days and how we want things to flow. Some people do this instinctively, moving through the various environments they inhabit and shifting the energy with their presence. These people have a knack for decorating life. This can be as simple as the way they dress, the way they speak, or the fact that they always bring a bouquet of wildflowers when they come for a visit.

As we move through the world, we make a statement, whether we intend to or not. We shift the energy one way when we enter a room dressed elegantly and simply, and another when we show up in bright, cheerful colors and a floppy hat. One is not better than the other. It is simply a question of the mood we wish to create. What we wear is just one choice we can focus on. The way we speak to people, or touch them, shifts the energy more profoundly than almost anything else. The words we speak and the tone in which we say them are the music we choose to play in the world that is our home. Some of us fill the space with passionate arias, others with healing hymns. Again, one is not better than the other. We are all called to contribute.

Hello Sheba, We finally got some rain, not a whole lot though.

At the doctor’s office, I had my mask on. No one else wore mask, not the people in the waiting room. Not the receptionists, not the nurses, only the doctor had on a mask.
Also at the Walmart, no people with mask.

We had to rush home, hubby had two meeting he had to attend for work. And work for the rest of the day. After I had something to eat, I took a good nap on the sofa.

So glad you are going to see your mom.

Hi and a good evening to you and yours. We had a thunderstorm around 5pm and light rain. Just hope that all this water will potentially give us lower numbers for the drought.

I hope you had good results from your doctor. Which reminds me to get a blood test next week for my upcoming appointment.

I had the A/C tech today. The A/C stopped working and by the time he showed the temp in the house was in the high 801s. It is still that way as I type 8 hours later. I will make a call tonight, though I will not be home after 10:00 AM. Heat index today put us at 99 degrees.

I am enjoying your posts. Think I need to travel to Brazil for those cooler temps.

I have no idea why the Dragon Fruit is so expensive. We are baying the same price here. It could be some of the plants perished due to the heat and not enough water. I do know that in Florida there are very little being farmed and that could be the reason. I would plant a dragon fruit cacti, but when it starts bearing fruit, the water mice’/rats will start eating them.

I decided to stay home today. Hubby’s appointment is tomorrow and I want to be able to drive and hear the results with him. Rehab has a special van that will take him back and forth. I stopped at Sam’s today to fill up. Was supposed to do that at Costco, but tomorrow will be soon enough. Gas was $3.59/gal. I checked Costco and they were 3.69. Ten cents difference and yet where Costco is, gas seems to be less expensive. Guess not this week.

We had a thunderstorm this afternoon around 5 pm. . The rain was soft which was great for the plants. We are finally getting much needed showers. I will not be doing my rain dance. The last time I tried, we had two hurricanes within two weeks. Anyway, when I went out to get gas at Sam’s I looked to the East and there was a tiny rainbow that showed the slide. I just hope and pray that it will bring good news tomorrow.

Oh, speaking of tomorrow. I will be leaving the house early in the am. Not sure if I will drag Kindle along because of the heat and humidity which is twice as bad in a vehicle. If I decide to make a stop at the Rehab, then I will bring that little thing with me and have hubby watch over it. I do need a stop at Costco, so will bring a hotdog back for hubby along with their soft ice cream.

On my return from Sam’s Club I happened to glance up at the sky. Big, billowy clouds that had many colors. It ranged from a hot pink to a light mauve with some orange colors thrown in. It was a perfect way to end the day. Absolute beauty.

Hope you, Poppy and your hubby have an enjoyable evening. Walk in the moonlight and see if you see a falling star.l Too cloudy for that here. OH well. Maybe tomorrow.

Hi Oodie, wanted to wish you and your husband good luck with his test results tomorrow. I will be keeping my fingers crossed that he will be on his way home.🤞

I just got a new microwave last month. The one that broke was 15 years old and an LG over the range model. I looked at a few models online since it has been so long since I bought one. I wanted to stay with LG so the stainless would match the other appliances. I then just called LG customer help, gave them my old model number and asked what current model replaced the old one. Ordered it sight unseen through Best Buy and it’s perfect. Just a suggestion to maybe make it a little easier for you.

Husband had a doctor’s appointment this afternoon so we stopped and had a late lunch after so no cooking dinner, yay! I have leftover seafood salad if we get the munchies later. Also many bags of snacks and frozen treats so we won’t starve, lol!🤣 Hoping kittengirl had a good birthday.🎂

Thank youso much for thinking about Hubby’s appointment tomorrow morning. I hope and pray for good news. His problem is that he doesn’t drink enough liquid. Says he isn’t thirsty. But, you still need a few good sips now and then. Actually my suggestions does fall on deaf ears.

We had a thunderstorm late this afternoon. I needed to fill the gas tank before tomorrow’s appointment and because it was 7:45 pm, decided on Sam’s Club since it is closer. However, they do have long lines and the wait time is at least an hour. Well, at 7:45 pm, I just happened to look at the sky. It was still pretty dark in the East and the sun was still high enough to grant my wish of a rainbow. It wasn’t the entire rainbow, just a downward slide. But it was enough to say there is a silver lining just ahead. Oh, I do hope so. It’s been such a long road. And, he wants home so badly. I just hope I will be able to handle everything. Hoping that I will have help in getting him to his appointments and also into the van. Yes, there are some vans that will take you to the appointment and I suppose I will be using them until such time he will be able to stand and walk on his own.

Funny, we both had an LG microwave. And,oh how I adored mine. Easy to clean inside and out. I will check Best Buy. They installed the LG in our home on the Cape. Unfortunately, I will need to call them when I get back. They installed it incorrectly and consequently the fan does nothing. I made a stop at Lowes yesterday to look at the Whirlpool. No comparison to the Lg. There are a few LGs on sale this week. I will also use your suggestion with Best Buy. I think mine is about the same age as yours. Nothing lasts forever.

I hope your sister and mom enjoy their cruise. So much going on in the Atlantic. I think there are 4 potential hurricanes that are being watched and one more in the Gulf of Mexico. At least that one doesn’t seem to be heading in our direction, but the other 3 have potential. Not liking this one bit.

Opening a Closed Connection

If you feel abandoned or cut off from Spirit, know that it is always there for you waiting for you to plug back in.

There may be times when we feel like our connection to the universe is closed. Maybe things don’t seem to be going well in our day, or our lives, or we may feel out of our element. The truth is, the universe is always there for us. We know that we create our experience with our thoughts, and this is another way we need to make a conscious decision about how we want to experience life. It is up to us to do the work of making the connection, because nobody can do it for us, though sometimes the universe may send us wake-up calls.

You can think of it as getting some fresh air. We are always breathing and the air is always around us, surrounding us, moving through us. But we may need to step outside of where we are in the moment — physically, mentally, or emotionally — and make the conscious choice to take a deep breath in order to feel the air coming in and going out. Whether this means stepping outside physically or merely shifting our thoughts, it is only our perception that changes; the air remains the same.

It is just as easy to reconnect with the universe. Using the same technique as a breath of fresh air, a deep breath can bring us back to our center. As we inhale, we fill our bodies with the oxygen needed to replenish our most basic physical needs, allowing the air to circulate within us. Exhaling, we release the stale, the used, the potentially toxic air, removing any blocks that may keep us from going deeper into the stillness that lies at our center where we connect to the universe. Feeling closed off does not need to be a negative experience. When we become conscious of it, we can think of the wholeness of a closed circuit, which allows electricity to connect and flow properly. Our bodies work the same way, and when we make that connection in our minds, it can help bring us back to the connection we seek. AMEN! ✨✨

NATIONAL RUM DAY | AUGUST 16

Join National Rum Day on August 16th as blended beverages and cocktails create a delicious celebration. Rum is a distilled clear alcoholic beverage which is a byproduct of sugar production. It can also be made directly from sugar cane juice. After the fermentation and distillation process, most rum ages in wooden oak barrels.

RUM FACT: In 1764, the British Crown placed a tax on sugar, molasses and rum on the American colonies. This tax was called The Sugar Act of 1764. It was instrumental in the unrest that finally became the American Revolution.

Rum is the third most popular spirit in the United States. Only vodka and all the whiskeys combined beat it for first and second-rankings. The spirit finds its way into citrusy mixed drinks, and cool blended summer cocktails. So much so, that rum stirs up images of sandy beaches and brightly colored umbrellas in fruity drinks.

However, rum also conjures up sailors and pirates. The reason for that is how rum came to be. In the West Indies during the 1600s, large plantations grew sugar cane. When they extracted the sugar, they created a by-product called molasses. For years, the molasses was a waste product until it was discovered it could be distilled – into rum. Then, rum became not only a commodity for trade but also a ration on the ships delivering the product. Even in the modern Royal Navy, British sailors received an allotment of rum until 1970.

We have another Full Moon 🌝 at the end of the month. Going to collect lots of Sage to make Sage butter for the Winter. Not that we have Winter like up North, just a couple of weeks in all of real cold days. But, I don’t take it for granted that the Summers are being hotter than ever. And Winters are becoming colder then ever, the weather system on Earth is not the same as in past decades.

Good morning. I was totally surprised yesterday. We finally received some much needed rain and even heard some thunder in the wee hours of the morning.

I did make a stop at Lowe’s for the microwave and decided, though in my price range, not to purchase. The interior was not what I expected. The one I had was super easy to clean. I loved the 30 sec. timer which I used often. Hubby said I should have purchased this one, but when I told him it didn’t come up to par to the one that died, that did the trick. I noticed several are on sale for the week and will again read the reviews and put my choices into a notepad that I carry around all the time. I also made a stop at Costco and realized that the credit card was not where it should have been. I did a search to no avail. So there was no hotdog and I didn’t fill the gas tank. I did find that card between two envelopes in my purse this morning.

While visiting hubby, he asked for something and I found it on the floor. When I looked up, my eyes had trouble focusing. This was not like being dehydrated. I have Meniere’s and so after many years, I had a problem. Took a Dramamine and fell asleep. Hubby saw what was happening and this was the only time he could not help me. I awoke feeling better, but knew I needed another pill. He wanted me to stay overnight, but if you are not a patient you either return home or have the EMTs take you to the hospital. I mentioned that I was leaving to the aid and to let the head nurse know. I called him as soon as I was home. He phoned to make sure I was OK.

Yes, I did put the recycle and garbage out this morning. Just need to wait for the pickup. I am fine today. It’s as if nothing happened.

Our A/C isn’t working. Temperature is over 80. I did make a phone call and they will be here between 2 and 5 pm. . I will still make a stop at Costco for the hotdog and a salad for me. I may even throw in some ice cream for both of us.

And speaking of the Dragon Fruit. Ours isn’t that cheap anymore. They are doing it by the pound rather than the fruit being at a certain price. But, I have two beauties in the frig which I will eat with blueberries. On that note, I am hungry. I think I will have iced tea with Manuka.

We have created imaginary boundaries, sectioning ourselves into countries and states, forgetting that in reality we are all living together.

Seeing an image of the planet Earth taken from space inspires awe in many of us, since we can clearly see the connectedness of all of us who live upon this planet. We have created imaginary boundaries, sectioning ourselves into countries and states, forgetting that in reality we are all living together, breathing the same air, drinking from the same water, eating food grown from the same earth. We share everything on this planet, whether we are conscious of it or not, with other people, and those people are our brothers and sisters. Keeping a photograph or painting of the planet Earth in a prominent place in our homes can be a positive way to remember our interconnectedness.

Meditating on the fact that any sense of separation we have from one another is truly an illusion, we will naturally begin to make more conscious choices in our daily lives. The simple act of preparing food, or determining how to dispose of our refuse, can be done with the consciousness that whatever we do will affect all our brothers and sisters, no matter how far away they live, as well as the planet herself. When we foster this kind of awareness in ourselves out of a feeling of awe, it becomes easier to be conscious than to fall back into old habits of thinking of ourselves as separate.

When we contemplate the earth in her wholeness, we attune ourselves to the truth of the bigger picture, which is the Earth, and all of us, every one of us, living on her body. We are connected to one another in the most intimate way, because we literally share our living space. As more people become aware of the reality of our interdependency, things will shift in a positive direction, and much of the discord that we see now will give way to a more cooperative, loving conscious. This is happening already, so as our consciousness grows, we can join with the many other minds working to live in the spirit of togetherness. AMEN! ✨✨

Hi, I hope you are well and had the chance just to rest. I read you were having dizzy spells. Please be careful, I am glad your husband finally got the procedure he need done. Of all the times you tried, it’s finally over. Sending prayers for good results.
Don’t forget to take your medicine and hydrated too. We seniors can’t go without air-conditioning, not in a car or indoors. I hope you enjoyed your hair done and had time to rest and relax.

However, now it is older and the bottom box spring seems damaged. It seems there are lots of great options although I will probably stick with Sealy.

Cutting Cords

Sometimes the emotions we are feeling belong to the person we are in a connection with, and an energetic cord must be severed.

In every relationship, people are constantly exchanging energy that can become a cord connecting two people. This energetic cord forms just below the breastbone and can remain long after a relationship has ended. This unbroken cord may leave an open channel between you and another person, through which emotions and energy can continue to flow. If you are unaware that the cord exists, it is easy to feel the other person’s emotions and mistakenly think that they are yours. Besides the fact that this can limit the amount of closure you can experience in a relationship, letting this cord remain intact can leave you with a continued sense of sadness while creating feelings of lethargy as your own energy is sapped from you. Cutting the cord can help you separate yourself from old baggage, unnecessary attachments, and release you from connections that are no longer serving you.

Finding and cutting unwanted cords is a simple, gentle process that is best done alone and when you are relaxed. It is important that you are strong in your intention to release the cord between you and someone else. To begin, breathe deeply and perform a simple centering meditation. When you are ready, visualize or sense the cords that are connecting you to other people. Run your fingers through the cords to separate them until you find the cord you wish to sever. There is no need to worry, because the cord you need to sever will feel just right. When you have found it, determine where the cut should be made and then visualize the cord being cleanly cut. If you need assistance, Archangel Michael can be called upon to help you with his sword. Afterwards, if you feel that cutting the cord has left spaces in your energy field, then visualize those spaces being filled with healing sunlight.

There may be times where cutting a cord can help free a relative or loved one to reach new stages of growth. You’re not severing a relationship, but you are severing the cords that are no longer serving you both. At other times, a cord may simply refuse to be cut because it is still serving a higher purpose. It is also important to remember that cutting a cord with someone is not a replacement for doing your emotional work with people. It can, however, be an enactment of that work upon its completion. What a day. The Asian food was delicious. There was one dish I absolutely adored and will order it from time to time. This was the Dry Seafood Peppercorn Shrimp and was hot hot hot. Thought of your hubby as I took one bite after another. I finished it off this morning for breakfast. It was close to brunch time.

Today was garbage day and I had two full bags. I do have quite a few things for recycle on Thursday and the bin is almost overflowing. At the same time I also found some items for donation and will see if I have enough things thrown together to make the trip worthwhile.

I left for hubby’s appointment 45 minutes prior. Didn’t realize it was raining until I drove out of the driveway. No heavy deluge. Just a soft spring rain and the flowers and plants were loving it. I had decided on a route that would bring me closer to where I needed to be. However, at the third light traffic did not move. It was then I noticed a couple of school buses and a three car accident up ahead. I had time to get into the right lane and took the path I always take to the rehab. This one was bumper to bumper. I persevered and made it to the highway and an exit later was on the road I needed. Made it to the appointment with fifteen minutes to spare. Noticed hubby had not arrived, so found a seat and opened my book. He was a little late.

His name was called and I followed the nurse to the procedure. There was no table. Just a chair .The person who drove helped him out of his wheelchair, but for the first time he did much of the work. I could not believe what he accomplished over the weekend from therapy. The procedure took about 90 minutes, but he was done within an hour. The person who drove helped him to dress and he arrived back at rehab in time for dinner. We had rain the entire afternoon and I loved it. When I left the air was cool. It was the first time in months that I drove without the A/C and had the windows opened. The breath of fresh air was just amazing. I had forgotten what air smelled like. It was a beautiful scent of fresh flowers. No sun the entire day.

I went and checked the front door and found it unlocked. Opened the door thinking the air was refreshed. It was not. A blast of hot air and humidity greeted me. My day of the spring air vanished. Tomorrow, rather today, we will be back to heat and dreadful humidity with the air quality being poor. Oh well. It was a joy to have it for a few hours. September usually brings cooler temps in the mid 70s to mid 80s. It’s a beautiful month to be in Florida.

Next appointment is Friday for the full report . Fingers crossed that there are no problems. Hubby’s brain seemed to be intact. The saying from yesterday (I cannot leave you for one minute.”) is something he always uses when I do something careless. He knows he has been in rehab too long. He wants home so bad. I have tons to do before he comes home.

Today is a “me” day. Have a hair appointment and looking forward to an hour of bliss. Afterwards will return to Lowes to order the microwave. I was really hoping for the LG, but the price of a Whirlpool cannot be beat. Hubby and I talked and that is how the decision was made. So good to see him lucid. He knows when the dementia is there. He says it’s like seeing the fog over the lake. In reading the results of Covid, that was one of the things it mentioned. It will be awhile before things kick in.

Time for bed. Have a great Tuesday. I will write later.

husband in that horrible accident earlier this year. My cousin is still getting PT.
I hear her cries as she recalls that dreadful night. My heart goes out to her. 💕🌹

Having It Easy

Everyone must overcome difficulties, and everyone has been granted a distinctive set of talents with which to do so.

Our lives are an exercise in facing challenges. In a small number of cases, our assumptions may mirror reality. But very few people “have it easy.” Everyone must overcome difficulties and everyone has been granted a distinctive set of talents with which to do so. An individual who is highly gifted may nonetheless have to practice industriously and correct themselves repeatedly in order to cultivate their talents. Their myriad accomplishments are more likely than not the result of ongoing hard work and sacrifice. You, no doubt, have natural abilities that you have nurtured and your gifts may be the very reason you strive as tirelessly as you do. Yet others see only the outcome of your efforts and not the efforts themselves

Our intellects, our hearts, and our souls are constantly being tested by the universe. Life will create new challenges for you to face each time you prove yourself capable of overcoming the challenges of the past. I had a meeting with our landscaper about two weeks ago. I needed to have two of our hibiscus plants removed. One had an oak tree growing in the middle of the plant. This one was at the edge of our driveway and if I forgot to tell them to trim it, I would not have been able to see the cars coming. The other one was in the middle and had some kind of weed or tree growing near the edge of the plant. In order to get at the weed, they needed to remove the entire plant. As a replacement I asked for an azalea plant. I see they brought it either late yesterday or today. It’s real pretty with light pink blossoms. I have a feeling that the other plant will be a Bird of Paradise.

Yesterday I was out for a bit with the landscape people. I thought I was hydrated. Evidently not enough. When I returned to the house and went inside, got kind of dizzy. I was able to reach the water that xango mentioned along with a dramamine. Slept the rest of the day and into the night. Woke long enough to make a sandwich, then back to bed.

The temp yesterday was in the low 90s and with the humidity it was 108 degrees. Of course I was standing outside without a hat. What was I thinking????

We had a thunderstorm this afternoon and rain. It didn’t do much for the humidity or the temps, but I drove to the rehab anyway. Stopped and picked up Asian food and they were extremely busy. Guess no one wanted to cook.Found hubby in the TV/living room and of course he wanted to know why I wasn’t there yesterday. Gave him a full explanation and his remark was “I cannot leave you for one second.” Of course it’s been 6 months, but whose counting.

Tomorrow hubby has the urology appointment. I left a book in the car since I will be in the waiting room. This test takes about an hour and a half. Rehab will bring him and will help him get onto the table. The test does not require anesthesia, but it could be a bit painful. I just hope everything turns out OK. We will hear the results on Friday. I wonder if falling out of bed so many times had something to do with this. He sleeps on the edge in Rehab, and has been OK.

Just as I was leaving, the sky opened up again. Lightning and thunder and more rain. I waited until it was over and then drove home. The humidity was lower and it felt good. However, it will be short lived. Tomorrow more of the same.

did the some things to my Step-Mom and staff.

I love the new flowers you will have soon. So beautiful and so Florida. Oodie I have the
Bird of Paradise flower in an black lacquer vase they look real and costed a pretty penny
they sit on my kitchen table. I brought this years ago from Macy’s.

I am glad you got some sleep you need it and I hope it gets cooler for you this week.

Some big storms last night, thunder, lightning and lots of rain. We had tornado watches from 2-9.🌪 One did touch down south of the city. God blessed me with no trees down and no power outages. May get some more tomorrow, probably what you just had. Tired of these “weather alert” days, just want some mild showers.

Hubs is home, all tired out from four days of golf.🏌️‍♂️ Got it all in even with some rainy weather. His team won money each day, yay!👍
