Shifting Into Gratitude

The question of whether we or anyone else deserves something is not really in our jurisdiction.

We all know what it’s like to finally get something we want only to find ourselves feeling as if we don’t deserve it. Whether it’s a car, a new job, or a date with someone wonderful, we suddenly feel as if we are not up to it. Something in us wants to reject this gift from the universe, perhaps because it requires that we think of ourselves in a new way or makes us question why we should have something that others don’t have. If these feelings of unworthiness are not consciously acknowledged, they can lead us to sabotage ourselves. Perhaps the best way to avoid rejection and sabotage is to simply shift into a state of gratitude, bypassing the question of worthiness altogether.

The question of whether we or anyone else deserves something is not really in our jurisdiction. Worthiness plays itself out in ways we can’t fully comprehend, on the level of the soul, over the course of many lifetimes. What we do know is that the universe has its own way of shifting the balance over the course of time so that all things are ultimately fair. We can trust in this process and understand that when a gift comes our way, it is because we are meant to have it. Otherwise, it would not be available to us. Accepting the gift with gratitude and using it to the best of our ability is true humility.

When we receive a gift and find that feelings of unworthiness crop up, we can simply acknowledge the feelings and then remind ourselves that they are beside the point. We might say to ourselves, “I am meant to have this.” As we allow ourselves to accept the gift, we might feel tenderness in our hearts that naturally shifts into a deep feeling of gratitude. As we sit for a moment, consciously holding the gift in our hands or in our hearts, we say yes to the universe’s many blessings — and we also say thank you. AMEN! ✨✨

Yesterday was horrible in the ‘burgh with the smoke haze. We were one step below hazardous which is the highest.😫 The baseball game was delayed in the afternoon while they debated whether to play. Today we are almost normal, we dropped two levels and it looks clear in my yard. Tomorrow we will be down another level, thank goodness.

Because of the air quality, I waited until today to go out and order a new microwave. They will be here Monday to install it. Hope all the measurements work.🤞 Running to mom’s tomorrow for a quick visit before the rain starts.⛈ Scattered but a good chance.

I was at a meeting that was outside when I expected to be inside. It Left me really hot and tired.
It was an interesting 2 hours. And my idea of hot is no where the kind of weather in OZ and FL.
It looks like Heid Daus is scheduled for sometime towards the end of July.
Is that enough time for you to save up some funds?

I am about to take a much needed shower. Definitely will try to stop at the new deli and see what is available. Running late, but as long as I can see hubby, that’s the one thing that will make me real happy. Please start Trivia for me or have someone else. I’m not sure how I will be feeling by 8pm and am not pushing. I ordered the water that xango mentioned through Amazon. I still feel a bit weak in the knees and that is to be expected. This is one time I wish hubby was home. I am sure he will notice how ill I’ve been when he sees me. He will be extremely concerned. But, the head nurse brought a chair for me to use and it is very comfortable. If someone else decided to use it, I will hunt it down. LOL. I almost mentioned last night that you may want to start a new thread. It may be weather related in Florida. Thanks on the cell. I just noticed that the battery needs a recharge. Will bring the wire with me.

I was able to order two heroes before leaving and picked them up en route. They were packed well. The place is small and they were very busy. I wish I had a camera. The face he made as he took the first bite said it all. He enjoyed every bite and he could only eat half. I will put the other into the frig too reheat before leaving tomorrow. Guess I found a good place for grinders and everything else. Getting ready to return home. I am exhausted.

The moon last night was beautiful, and the sky was filled with stars. I do love this time of year, ( minus the extreme heat ) the days are longer, flowers are blooming and the bunnies are having babies. A bunny rabbit gave birth in my neighbor’s backyard. The bunny digged under the fence and home herself home in their backyard to give birth.

Hubby was able to leave work early today, he’s home already. Not sure if I will be in Trivia Tonight, we may go out for the evening.

Good day in S. California Taci enjoy this wonderful weekend. Hey OZ got some rain
early morning along with thunder and hail. I loved it I was asleep but kept waking up.
No problem I went back to sleep in was 3:00 a.m. and it rained for hours. 💕🌹

Taci Trivia was fun I try to answer questions but most of the time I am in the Arcade.
I have nearly four million tickets most I acquired during Trivia and I have played since
Trekky started the first thread on Trivia and been with Oodiebom since she took over

Sheba, you have way more tickets than i will ever have and yes, i know you have been in the arcade for quite some time. I remember Trekky and hope she is doing well. I joined about the time Trekky was leaving then and didn’t know much about posting or the arcade. Would love to have that rain storm here! My hubs still hasn’t turned on the sprinklers since we had such a wet and longer winter, however, it’s probably time as we might get a letter….haha. A few weeks ago I told one of the board members at the Assoc. to hold off on a letter to mow the lawn because we were holding out waiting for our son to do his chore. haha. Btw, the yards here are smaller and nothing like OZ.
The reviews on the Rarities ring are all over the place. I guess it comes down to expectations and hosts/vendor knowing about sizing.
I’m off to watch Jaws. My summer favorite movie. Have a great night.

I love Jaws I saw it last week I am going to watch Victor/Victoria with Julie Andrews
and James Garner. I love that movie of course there is singing and dancing. 💕🌹

Taci I forgot to mention how sad it was that one of my favorite actors Julian Sands
remains was found on a California Mountain I was so hoping they would find him. 🌹

Very hot in OZ so I am going to relax with hubby. I am very upset with what Madonna
is going through there is no one left like Madonna. 😘💕

Good morning. It’s about 1:30 am and I guess I am almost back to my ole self. I fell asleep and now need to get ready to pop back into bed, but before I do. What a day I had. I decided to venture into the laundry room and to put the washer on “self clean.” Threw the tablet into the machine and then set the tab to self clean and……..nothing happened. Went to the panel and did a flip and back to the laundry. The machine went on for two seconds and then petered out again. On the way to the panel, decided to turn the A/C off entirely and did the panel thing and this time it went through without a hitch. I think what happened is that the State of Florida, due to the high heat and humidity, pulled the plug on power. I will do one load later minus the A/C and will turn it on when everything is washed and dried.

I thought about contacting the doctor’s office on Monday, but the last couple of years they closed during the week. I also wonder if I will be able to walk from the parking lot to the office without a problem. They took away the valet service at the front door during the pandemic and decided to keep it that way. That was a nice set up and great when one wasn’t feeling up to par. Now you have to ride around and around until something opens up and then walk to the doors. Not an easy feat when you are trying to get your energy back in this heat and humidity. It is something I will still try even though the office could be closed.

I saw hubby this afternoon. I packed the leftover hero sandwiches and put them into the cooler. Also brought some fruit. I had a yen for the chicken salad dinner with cashew and so went the long way to the rehab so I could stop at Culver’s. I also picked up two large ice cream sundaes with vanilla ice cream (custard) and hot fudge. I had purchased a large thermo container a few weeks ago and brought that with me and put in two flat top ice paks. The ice cream fitted just find. No shade at Culver’s and was it ever hot and sticky. Thought I was in a desert. Left the windows opened a bit and made my order and returned to the car when ready. It’s only about a six minute drive from there to the rehab. I used the Dbest trolley. The straps of the thermo fitted nicely over the handles as well as my purse. I just had to wheel the thing up to narrow steps and ring the bell for entrance and I was on my way. Hubby was in his room eating dinner. He ate the entire meal which included a lot of side dishes. He said I looked awful and moved my chair next to his wheeled ones. I mentioned the ice cream and his face lit up from one side to the other and then up and down. He enjoyed every morsel and even finished mine. I took the salad out and he proceeded to eat that as well. Wow!!!!! And then I noticed. He was able to move his feet from side to side and also to walk the chair. I think I better get moving on my end. So exciting to see hubby moving around.

a busy one and I have been busy with projects. Oh Snap! I have good and bad projects.

I am glad your husband is eating and especially enjoyed your visit. Oodie is the A/C fixed
in the Rehab? I hope so the weather all over have been hot! My A/C is on already.

This is not my favorite season by any means if you can’t have fun or do normal things
without sweating and being super hot that is not fun but welcome Summer. ✨

Oodie do you feel you need to go to a Urgent Care? I would call your doctor’s office
no matter what at least someone on call may be able to help you and they should be
open the Holiday is not until Tuesday. We shall see just make sure you are hydrated.
Keep the cell on you at all times. ✨

I read your post from earlier. I am fine. A/C is off and laundry has another half hour and then the dryer. Had a full day yesterday with hubby and best thing was Culver’s. The ice cream was super good and hubby not only ate his, but the last half of mine as well. Goes to prove that he has an appetite when the food is right. He loved my salad and I will order him one the next time I am there. The hospital staff was delighted that I was able to go. They all adore Culvers.

Once I put the clothing into the dryer, will drive to both Loew’s and Aldi’s. Maybe just Aldi’s. They have some fruit on sale that hubby will enjoy. If I am up to it, will go to the Farmer’s Market tomorrow. Aldi’s is just around the corner, the other about a twenty minute drive. Traffic has been horrendous. Evidently, they are working on the Interstate over the weekend. Traffic was backed up for miles. Will go direct to the rehab and if need be will drive to wherever since the restaurants are only a couple of miles from hubby.

Have a great afternoon. Temps here are already in the 90s with 100% humidity. No rain in sight. I know your hubby is home. Please do not overdo anything. Too hot.

I did enjoy the movie Julie Andrews and James Garner are great actors. I miss James Garner.
This film is a comedy and Julie’s husband was Blake Edwards directed it.

Good evening I have been out and about with hubby. We always have something to do on
the weekend and I did get a lot done. 😎✨

I had a slight sinus problem this morning but I did not let it stop me I feel alright now.
I plan to take a hot Perlier Shower. ✨✨

How are you doing this evening? I went to Home Goods and a great store in OZ.
Hubby and I brought two nice watermelons they were on sale and we will chopped them
up and put in the fridge. Cherries are on sale too guess it’s the season.

I hope hubby had a nice meal today. Oodie last night the people in my area were shooting
off fire works all night and they are at it today. So I guess it will not stop until after the 4th.
I am glad Poppy does not have a problem but other animals do have a very serious problem.

When we are in the presence of what inspires us, we hear our inner guidance more clearly.

We all know inspiration when we feel it. It is a force that enlivens us and activates us to do something — we might dance, sing, paint the house, or envision a new career. We might call an old friend or plan a trip abroad. Whatever the case, doing what we do from a place of inspiration makes all things seem possible. Inspiration sometimes comes out of nowhere, landing unexpectedly in the midst of your life and lifting you out of your habitual mind and into a higher level of seeing. However, we can be more intentional with our relationship with inspiration than just waiting for it to come to us. There are many ways to cultivate its presence, from journaling to scrapbooking to visiting with a particularly interesting friend. Finding what inspires you and consciously cultivating it will give you access to new ways of thinking and energy you didn’t know you had.

Some people find that frequent trips into nature inspire them. Others have a box full of objects — a seashell, an old photograph, or even a collection of rocks — that does the trick. There are as many ways to find inspiration as there are people looking for it. If you already know what inspires you, find a way to incorporate it into your life on a regular basis. If you aren’t sure what inspires you or if it has changed, take some time to think about it. When was the last time you felt the spark of your imagination? When was the last time you acted on an impulse that felt totally right? When we are in the presence of what inspires us, we hear our inner guidance more clearly and we have the energy to follow its cues.

If it has been a while since you have been touched by inspiration, you may feel listless and dissatisfied. Know that you can turn things around by remembering what lights you up and bringing that into your life. AMEN! ✨🌹

Another on and off rain day, we should no longer be in a drought after the last four days. Microwave is in with no problems. Thanks to all my research on size, they didn’t even have to change the wall bracket.👍 Old one out, new one installed in about twenty minutes.

I am going to jump in the shower as I have a blazing sinus headache and I am on meds.
I had to go to Urgent Care no way was this going to ruin my holiday. All this came down
today my temp was 103 I knew this was not to be played with.

No movie tonight I am going to bed and guess what is right outside my window someone
is using fireworks there goes my headache. Sheesh!

I did write something last night, but it went poofed. Probably because I fell sound asleep at the computer and because I had to sign in again, my note went into oblivion.

I did visit hubby yesterday. The nurse mentioned that he ate breakfast and lunch but didn’t eat dinner. She voted thumbs down on dinner. But I brought a box of popsicles and another all chocolate from Aldi. I also included watermelon and strawberries. Today I will do the same and may venture out for a couple of salads and more of Culver’s delicious custard.

I managed to do one load of wash and had things in the dryer as well. I will take a shower very shortly and will head out to be with hubby. Our community is celebrating the 4th with a cookout of hotdogs and hamburgers. Though most of the celebration will be in the clubhouse, I will not be participating. I think the episode from last week is enough and I really do not want to take chances. I did try to reach the doctor’s office, but as I thought, it is closed this week. Not sure of next week. The office is also only opened a half day on Fridays where they do not see patients. It is opened for paperwork and training. If I need to see someone will go to the clinic. Right now, I’m OK. I will be happier in the van and on my way to see hubby.

I just got home from Urgent Care I had a temp and very bad headache. Hubby drove me
there. I am alright now but the sinus headache is not to be played with it is annoying.

Good morning. Fell asleep and awoke with a start. Folded the laundry that was in the dryer and put the towels on second rinse cycle.

It was a scorcher today, but thankfully there was a breeze that kept the humidity in low digits. Of course there is no rain which we so need. Yes, I saw hubby. I brought him some watermelon and grapes and left both for a later treat. Hubby did eat his dinner, but got the shakes soon after I arrived. The nurse took the vitals and left. Hubby was still shaking. The A/C was working and I also surmise he skipped some meals between yesterday and today. Low sugar???? Cool room…..

I took all the covers from hubby and remade the bed with him in it. Nurse got mad when she saw what I was doing. Told her to watch what I do and then she helped with the other side of the bed and the bottom sheets. They were all scrunched. Poor hubby shook like a leaf. But brought the top sheet back and then he started to warm up. The summer blanket was next and soon he fell asleep and the shakes were gone. You just need to know how to redo the bed and get the sheets and blanket up to the neck. He was fine and the nurse gave me a thumbs up. The catheter was changed later and I again took the covers and redid them. I left while it was still daylight.

The Farmer’s Market is opened on the 4th from 8am to 6pm. They added quite a bit to their already sale items. Salmon is on sale and so are sirloin steaks. Starting Wednesday I will be cleaning again. Hubby is trying very hard to return home so the least I can do is get everything back into place and clean. So delighted with the Clean Boss. That reminds me to bring it with me on the 4th to clean the inside of the drawers and closet at rehab. I also will be bringing a late lunch and dinner from the Market for both of us.

So sorry about your sinus attack and the headache. I do know what you go through and that is why I try to take my sinus meds daily. Those sinus migraines are horrid, especially when they hit while I am visiting hubby. I can darken the room. But there is no bed for me and so I suffer in a chair. Thankfully, hubby leaves me alone until the meds kick in. Hope you feel better so you can enjoy your hubby’s cooking. Don’t overdo anything. Please take it easy.

Today is a very hot day, with caution alerts.

This weekend I saw the Bobcat again, sitting right in our backyard early in the morning.
He’s not very large, in the medium size. Then he started to chase something between our house and the neighbors house. I imagine it was the bunny.
Later that same day as I was watering the plants in the front, the bunny moved from behind the bushes. The Bobcat didn’t get the bunny that comes over and the same bunny was in the backyard that evening.

Not sure what I am cooking tomorrow. I usually have it planned out, not this time.
I didn’t order anything in advance, I might take a trip to the supermarket this evening or tomorrow morning.

We all want to be the kind of people who are happy for others when they experience success or a cause for celebration in their lives, but it isn’t always easy. Sometimes powerful, dark feelings come when decorum dictates we should be feeling the opposite; instead of reaching out and celebrating our loved one, we feel the rising up of our own pain. This pain may arise because we feel jealous about someone having something we don’t. It may arise because our friend’s success will lead to us losing them in some way. Or it can arise for reasons we don’t yet understand. The important thing is not to brush it under the rug but to take it seriously and look at it; suppressing it will only make it worse. At the same time, we need to be sure to find a way to congratulate our friends and celebrate their successes as if they were our own.

The struggle with being happy for others presents itself early in life. If a child wants a toy and another child has it, the child will try to get it or will break down in tears. Those primal feelings are still present in most of us, and we have to acknowledge them when they arise. It can be a difficult balance when we find ourselves suspended between wanting something and throwing a party for our friend who got it. Yet it is in throwing the party that we share in the joy, rather than cutting ourselves out of it. AMEN! 🌹✨

The little bunny got scared with the grass cutting team. And with the fireworks poor little bunny.
To my surprise who ever did the trimming of the bushes also cut-off my Hibiscus trees. I am so mad, I am just waiting for tomorrow to have a conversation with my guy that is the boss. Its been about two and a half years ago, maybe going on three. They did the same thing. And it took all this time to get them back to the way it was. And now this happens again. It had flowers, buds, how can a person who does that for a living cut it down to nothing.
I forgot to thank you for the beautiful pictures both yesterday and today. Yesterday’s spread, the picnic spread looked so delicious. If I was entertaining I would love to do something like that.
We are watching A Capitol Fourth on TV.

I have been watching a Capital July 4th on CNN. Xango it was wonderful to hear the
Air Force Band perform. ✨🌹😘

Guess what the night is lit up already in my corner of the world I just hope all the animals
are alright I have plenty of food and cold water for the critters.

My husband did a great job cooking today I am eating lots of fruit I don’t have a big
appetite I did sample everything. The strawberries are delicious we are very warm here
in Oz we are around 94 degrees and it is well after 9:00 people are partying here.

I am sorry about your tree you put a lot of love and work I hate to see that happen.
I hope they make it right why they would cut it in the first place makes no sense.
