Conversation – 18
Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 18 out of the series. I created and started this thread 9 years ago.
I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

Sheba, Sounds like a somber and calm day. Those flags must have been a site to see.
Wow to those food prices near Ms. Oodi. Wish we had markets like that here and with those offerings and prices. We have Farmers Markets here and all but the prices are higher than the expensive grocery stores.
My husband learned a new word today…Swarovski. We were having a discussion about Heidi Daus and her jewelry. Why? no idea. Anyways it was cute. It’s official, everyone in my house knows her name. haha. -
I could feel the whole place and it was not bad I felt proud. ✨🌹We had a very good
day.Our BBQ was great the flowers and plants are blooming. I played with a couple of the
cats from next door Poppy gets jealous so I had to let him go inside. LOL! ✨🌹😎No worries he came back out as soon as the cats went home.

Spirits (Having Flown)
Song by Bee GeesI never fell in love so easily
Where the four winds blow I carry on
I’d like to take you where my spirit flys
Through the empty skys
We go alone never before having flown
Faster than lightning is this heart of mine
In the face of time I carry on
I’d like to take you where my rainbow ends
Be my lover friend
We go alone never before having flown
I am your hurricane
Your fire in the sun
How long must I live in the air
You are my paradise
My angel on the run
How long must I wait
It’s the dawn of the feeling
That starts from the moment you’re there
You’ll never know what you have done for me
You broke all those rules I live upon
I’d like to take you to my shangrila
Neither here or far away from home
Never before having flown
There I’d like to take you where my spirit flys
Through the empty skys we go alone
Never before having flown -
Everything She Wants
Song by Wham!Ah, ha, ha
Oh-oh, yeah
‘Til you work
Somebody told me
“Boy, everything she wants is everything she sees”
I guess I must have loved you
Because I said you were the perfect girl for me
Baby, and now we’re six months older
And everything you want, and everything you see
Is out of reach, not good enough
I don’t know what the you want from me, oh
Uh-huh, uh-huh, oh-oh, oh-oh
Ah-ha, ah-ha, doo-doo-doo
La, la, la, la, la
Uh-huh, uh-huh, oh-oh, oh-oh
Ah-ha, ah-ha, doo-doo-doo
La, la, la, la, la
Somebody tell me, oh
Won’t you tell me?
Why I work so hard for you
Give you money
Work to give you money (oh)
Some people work for a living
Some people work for fun
Girl, I just work for you
They told me marriage was a give-and-take
Well, you’ve shown me you can take, you’ve got some giving to do
And now you tell me that you’re having my baby
I’ll tell you that I’m happy if you want me to
But one step further and my back will break
If my best isn’t good enough, then how can it be good enough for two?
Uh-huh, uh-huh, oh-oh, oh-oh
Ah-ha, ah-ha, doo-doo-doo
I can’t work any harder than I do (la, la, la, la, la)
Uh-huh, uh-huh, oh-oh, oh-oh
Ah-ha, ah-ha, doo-doo-doo
La, la, la, la, la
Somebody tell me, oh
Won’t you tell me?
Why I work so hard for you
Give you money (oh)
Work to give you money (oh)
Aw, why do I do the things I do?
Tell you if I knew
My god, I don’t even think that I love you (la, la, la, la, la)
Won’t you tell me?
Give you money
Work to give you money (oh-ah)
Ah, oh, yeah
Tell me
Tell me
How could you settle for a boy like me
When all I could see was the end of the week?
All the things we sign, and the things we buy
Ain’t gonna keep us together, it’s just a matter of time
My situation never changes walking in and out of that door
Like a stranger for the wages
I give you all, you say you want more
And all I could see was the end of the week
All the things we sign, and the things we buy
Ain’t gonna keep us together
Girl, it’s just a matter of time
Work, work
Work, work
La, la, la, la, la (just a matter of)
Uh-huh, uh-huh, oh-oh, oh-oh
Ah-ha, ah-ha, doo-doo-doo
La, la, la, la, la
Somebody tell me, oh
Won’t you tell me? (Somebody)
Why I work so hard for you
Give you money (oh)
Work to give you money (oh)
Somebody tell me, whoa-oh
Won’t you tell me?
Why I work so hard for you
Give you money (oh)
Work to give you money (oh)
Somebody tell me
Won’t you tell me? (Oh, please tell me…)
Why I do the things that I do
Give you money
Work to give you money (oh) -
Club Tropicana
Song by Wham!Let me take you to the place
Where membership’s a smiling face
Brush shoulders with the stars
Where strangers take you by the hand
And welcome you to wonderland
From beneath their panamas
Club Tropicana, drinks are free
Fun and sunshine, there’s enough for everyone
All that’s missing is the sea
But don’t worry, you can suntan
Castaways and lovers meet
Then kiss in Tropicana’s heat
Watch the waves break on the bay
Oh soft white sands, a blue lagoon
Cocktail time, a summer’s tune
A whole night’s holiday
Club Tropicana, drinks are free
Fun and sunshine, there’s enough for everyone
All that’s missing is the sea
But don’t worry, you can suntan
Club Tropicana, drinks are free
Fun and sunshine, there’s enough for everyone
All that’s missing is the sea
But don’t worry, you can suntan
Pack your bags
And leave tonight
Don’t take your time
Gotta move your feet, don’t you miss the flight!
Pack your bags
And leave tonight
Don’t take your time
Gotta move your feet, don’t you miss the flight
(Cool, cool, cool, cool)
Club Tropicana, drinks are free
Fun and sunshine, there’s enough for everyone
All that’s missing is the sea
But don’t worry, you can suntan! -
Drum roll, please. The itch is gone. I did a big load of laundry yesterday and decided to open a new box of detergent. Outcome was no itch no meds. Such a beautiful feeling. Three weeks of the itch. Back, thighs, rump. Only places not affected were the face and hair. It took three weeks to finally figure it out.
I did return to the Farmer’s Market today. The ad for today was unbelievable. And, yes, you could shop the regular ad as well. I was amazed that there was plenty of parking. Watermelons were $3.99 each. They were beautiful to look at, but, it’s only me at home and cutting it up for the two guys just wouldn’t work. However, as you entered the market we had a huge slice of watermelon to enjoy as we poked around. The Memorial Day flowers were buy one and get one free. I passed. Vases were at home and I had decided to go direct to the rehab from there. They had cut up watermelon in a huge plastic container for $.99. The same for Honeydew. Grapes (colossal red) were $.99 Amish cookies with the top,,,s colored in red, white and blue were $1.99. I purchased 2. One for hubby and one for the roommate. I also bought 2 grinders. and a chicken sandwich for myself. I also picked up Crab legs for $8.88/lb and colossal shrimp for $6.99/lb. There were scallops to try and shrimp as well..In the meat department they had a sale going on sirloin and I passed. They looked beautiful, but I had no idea how long I would be staying at the rehab. But, evidently they were barbecuing behind their building and were bringing in chunks for people to try. On the way out they were selling homemade ice cream in many different flavors. Quite a few were made without sugar. For $.99 you had a choice of a cone or dish with whatever you wanted on top. It was supposed to be one scoop, but it looked like a double to me. I passed on this as well. If it had a cover I would have brought one for each of the guys since I had my ice bag with me. I had a great time, but it would have been better if hubby could have been with me. Sigh
Hope you and hubby had a great one as well. Going to the cemetary is not easy, but in it’s own way, very rewarding. As sad as it is, deep down inside, you know you are doing good.

Good evening to you. Sounds like you had a very somber morning.😌 All the men in my family and my husband’s served in the military. My uncle did die in WW2. We all take it very serious like you do. There is a cemetery about two miles from my home that has a veterans section and every Memorial Day they conduct a ceremony.🙏
Had a very nice day at SIL. Grilled steaks, potato salad, various veggies, corn on the cob and pie.🥩🥔🌽🥧 Stuffed until tomorrow at breakfast.
Have some running around this week, just not sure what I’ll do first. It will be very warm🔥, tested the A/C and it is working.😊 Sending hugs and love to you and yours.🤗💖

@Sheba🌺🌺🌺🌺
Good afternoon Sheba, I hope you are now resting with your hubby after such a busy morning.
The flags do make for such a pretty look, I have been to military cemetery on Memorial Day. It’s a very different feeling than other days.We had no more rain in these last few days. The heat is back, and full Sunshine 🌞.
Hubby goes to back to work in Tampa for the rest of the week.Take care Sheba 🌹 🌹🌹🌹

Less Thinking and More Feeling
When we begin to listen with our hearts rather than our heads, our whole world changes and becomes softer.
Most of us were born and raised in cultures that value the head over the heart and, as a result, we place our own hearts below our heads in a sort of inner hierarchy of which we may not be conscious. What this means is that we tend to listen and respond from the neck up, often leaving the rest of our bodies with little or no say in most matters. This is a physical habit, which sometimes feels as ingrained as the way we breathe or walk. However, with effort and awareness, we can shift the energy into our hearts, listening and responding from this much deeper, more resonant place.
The brain has a masterful way of imposing structure and order on the world, creating divisions and categories, devising plans and strategies. In many ways, we have our brains to thank for our survival on this planet. However, as is so clear at this time, we also need the wisdom of our hearts if we wish to continue surviving in a viable way. When we listen from our heart, the logical grid of the brain tends to soften and melt, which enables us to perceive the interconnectedness beneath the divisions and categories we use to organize the world. We begin to understand that just as the heart underlies the brain, this interconnectedness underlies everything.
Many agree that this is the most important work we can do at this time in history, and there are many practices at our disposal. For a simple start, try sitting with a friend and asking him to tell you about his life at this moment. For 10 minutes or more, try to listen without responding verbally, offering suggestions, or brainstorming solutions. Instead, breathe into your heart and your belly, listening and feeling instead of thinking. When you do this, you may find that it’s much more difficult to offer advice and much easier to identify with the feelings your friend is sharing. You may also find that your friend opens up more, goes deeper, and feels he has really been heard. If you also feel great warmth and compassion, almost as if you are seeing your friend for the first time, then you will know that you have begun to tap the power of listening with your heart. AMEN! ✨🌹
