Hello Sheba, it’s Friday and the weekend is upon us again. It seems each week goes by faster and faster.
The bunny is back and enjoying our backyard. There are quite a few butterflies around the beautiful butterfly bush.
This weekend we may work on the front yard. The bushes, greenery is getting to be to much.
Almost overwhelming.
I read your post last night. My cousin in Brazil is also taking her sweetie 🐈🐈‍⬛🐈🐈‍⬛ to get a bath and groomed. Her cat has very long hair and gets his whole face into the water bowl when drinking water. It’s cold there now and he doesn’t like when she tries to dry his face, or wipe his face in the mornings.
I had to look up Phytoceramides, didn’t know what it was.😊 Are you on a vitamin D3? We take that, it’s Andrew Lessman’s. Hubby had his doctor’s check up, was placed on Iron pills. He has low Iron. I told him, he has to a Brazilian and eat black beans every day 😋 He prefers his lentis, his Indian cuisine with his spices which he cooks. He was born in Madras, India. Come over to the USA as a small child.
Our air conditioner is on all year round. It’s set to automatic, it’s at 75 degrees. When Summer days goes passed 95F-105F🌞 it will be set to 72 degrees. In the Winter, which is only a handful of days it kicks on to heat automatically when the temperature in the house goes below 69. 🥶😂

Common Courtesy

Common courtesy is a small gesture that makes a big difference and should be practiced as often as possible.

We often feel that we don’t have the time or energy to extend ourselves to others with the small gestures that make up what we call common courtesy. It sometimes seems that this kind of social awareness belongs to the past. Yet when someone extends this kind of courtesy to us, we always feel touched. Someone who lends a helping hand when we are struggling with our groceries makes an impression because many people just walk right by. Even someone who simply makes the effort to look us in the eye, smile, and greet us properly when entering a room stands out of the crowd. It seems these people carry with them the elegance and grace of another time, and we are always thankful for our contact with them. Common courtesy is a small gesture that makes a big difference.

An essential component of common courtesy is awareness and common sense—looking outside yourself to see when someone needs help or acknowledgment. As a courteous person, you are aware that you are walking into a room full of people or that your waiter has arrived to take your order. Then, awareness leads to action. It is usually quite clear what needs to be done—open the door for the woman holding the baby, move your car up two feet so another person can park behind you, acknowledge your sister’s shy boyfriend with a smile and some conversation, apologize if you bump into someone. A third component is to give courtesy freely, without expecting anything in return. People may not even take notice, much less return the kindness, but you can take heart in the fact that you are creating the kind of world you want to live in. Amen! ✨✨

A Wolfgang Puck French Toast Recipe That’s Perfect for a Lazy Weekend

We’ve been trying our hand at new, fun, flavorful recipes, and I was SO excited to check out this Wolfgang Puck cookbook, because it’s full of all of that. Good food without leaving you feeling guilty!

A favorite around our house, and especially when there’s a holiday weekend, is a slow breakfast around the table together! We all love different things, from eggs and bacon, to biscuits and gravy and more, but one thing everyone gets excited about is a good French Toast.

I knew that I had to try this one from Wolfgang Puck’s cookbook. With egg whites and low- ermilk in the mixture, there is fat cut out without sacrificing flavor. And the compote replaces an over-sugared syrup. Definitely a family-favorite I can feel good about.

Ingredients:

2 large eggs, lightly beaten

2 large egg whites

2 cups buttermilk

1 tbsp honey

1 tsp pure vanilla extract

1 tsp ground cinnamon

1/4 tsp kosher salt

8 slices good-quality bread

Fresh Berry Compote:

3/4 cup fresh blueberries

3/4 cup fresh raspberries

3 tbsp honey

1 tbsp grated orange zest

3 ounces fresh orange juice
