Conversation – 18
Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 18 out of the series. I created and started this thread 9 years ago.
I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

Hi, I am sorry you are going through all that’s happening. I hope they find a room for your husband soon. And that they are able to find out what is going on with your hubby and help him.
Reminds me of my hubby not being able to transfer into a room due to they didn’t have one available either. I guess it’s a common problem hospitals have now in the age of Covid-19.
Sending prayers your way for you and your husband 🙏.Be careful out there.

I am resting and I thank you for all the prayers and then some. I am so very disappointed with the rehab facilities. Just like in Ct. they are nursing homes. I would lose my hubby in a short while if he was placed in one. He would lose all confidence and the “I do not care” attitude will soon surface. I love our mattress and box spring and have looked around for the one we both purchased and there is nothing because the price for just the mattress is nothing like what we paid. The 12″ or 13″ would really help in the long run. At least his falls would not hurt as much if we decide on not using the bed rail at that point. I also have been looking at twin air mattresses. But for the most part, I am sincerely so disappointed at the rehab facilities. If in some way it could be connected with the one we were using as an out patient then I would not feel so depressed. Hubby is dealing with so much pain to the point of dementia. Without the pains he is a normal person. But do the doctors listen????? Most times a family member, be it a parent or a sibling or even a wife or a husband know more about the patient than the doctors do. I hate to rattle on, so will stop and take your advice for a shower and bed. Talk to you and everyone when I return home tomorrow. Not a happy camper right now.

@Sheba
Hi Sheba, how are you doing?
That chicken dinner sounds scrumptious 😋.I did read both posts from Oodiebom.
Just took my shower and it has started to rain, I hope it rains for a long while. It has been so very dry and has not rained here for a long time.
The day was quite warm, and I made some baguettes. Cooked Oxtails and Short Ribs. Got cheated on the Short ribs out of four pieces only one had meat on it. The others were all fat. Baked sweet potatoes to go with green beans and baked fish for hubby.
The house became so hot I had to turn on the air-conditioning.Have you seen Charlie lately? I know it’s been cold, and now snow.
Stay warm and take care Sheba.

@shoelady,
I am about to take a Korres shower and rest my body and head. ✨✨

The cold is getting better. 🌹

I did not sleep well last night worried about everyone. I do feel for Oodiebom because
she has no one there to help her. Oodie seems to be handling everything pretty well.I know she must be tired and I hope this stay in the Hospital the doctors finds some answers.
I hope your husband comes down from the roof one of these days. I have never so much
weather calamity in certain parts of California. Like you said next week will tell the outcome.Enjoy your evening. ✨🌹

Good evening and I know you are exhausted. So much to do and these are major issues.
First I hope your husband makes a full recovery and they get him a room STAT!I knew the hospitals are full but this is too much.
I admire your attitude to still get things done. I wish you had a professional nurse
who could help you with your husband and around the house as needed. ✨✨I think your husband will feel better with some good food hospital food is really bland.
I just don’t know what to say right now. Oodie be sure to take care of you so you can
handle all of this. 🌹✨No work tonight just shower and go to bed you need rest too.Tomorrow is another day. Don’t forget it is trash day tomorrow. No heavy lifting.
I am praying for you and your husband. 😘🌹
Grab your Kindle or a good book and enjoy some tea with your Manuka Honey.
Oodie even just for a couple of hours. 🌹🌹I will be praying for you. -
Sheba, just awful that Oodie’s husband is in the er. Hopefully they can get to the bottom of this soon and get the right meds going.
Oz has snow – well Winter Fashion has arrived. Does Poppy wear them also? I have noticed dogs around here do. It’s so cute. Haven’t forgotten about your cousin and hope her recovery is going as best possible.
Came home today and yah, hubby was on the roof. He has replaced some tiles and spread some type of goop. The next rain is Sunday and Monday so we will know if it has worked or not. -
Oodie, hope you get some answers soon on your husbands medical tests. Thinking of you both.

I asked Alexa last night to set an alarm for 8 am today, which she did. I told her to stop the music and asked to be awaken at 9 am. Changed my mind at 8:30 am and found myself dragging as the day began. I wanted to take a look at the 3 appliances, but dragged so much that iit was 1:30pm and I did absolutely nothing. I left here at 1:45 and decided to dash to the hospital. This time I had one of the first places in the ER lot.
Hubby was not in the same location. He was now near the nurse’s station where they could keep an eye on him. He is trying every which way to either climb over the bed rails or try going through them. He takes the hospital designed nightie off and even his pants thinking his body could crawl through the in betweens. I had to remind him that he was now a grown man and not a one year old. He could try, but probably will injure himself first before his pride would set in. I was there for four hours this time and left before night fell to drive to the appliance sale which turned out to be a huge thorn in my side. On line, you could pick a delivery date for the washer and dryer. The frig would be delivered on the 18th of February. But when I arrived, I could get the washer and dryer over the weekend, but after that had to wait until the 18th. This was not good when you have a non working washer and dryer and you found out today that hubby will be sent to rehab and you will be responsible to bring him clean clothes. So, back to looking. Oh, by the way, the ad said purchase three of the same manufacturers you get 10% off. Hmm…..this did not hold water. Should have made a copy of the ad. That will teach me. Waste of my time. Could have been home earlier if there was someone in the Appliance section when I arrived. Oh well. Learned a good lesson.
Hubby does not enjoy the hospital food and he isn’t eating. Tomorrow I will start bringing him something that I know he loves, and that is an Italian grinder. There is one place that makes a beautiful one and will check to see when they open and will call ahead. Oh, forgot to mention that he is still in the ER because there are no beds at the “Inn.” Also, tomorrow I will see if there is a bed tray he can use for meals. That’s the one that goes with the hospital bed. Guess the ER does not have that luxury. I will also look at Applebee’s along with Asian and Thai restaurants. I could also make a meal in the morning before I leave since I do have a carrier that will keep the food nice and hot for a few hours. And, he thinks I’m a gourmet cook when I use the Air Fryer. LOL.
Good ad this week for the Farmer’s Market. I can also pick up food to go here as well. They make a mean chicken salad and that will be great on a roll with lettuce and tomato. Oh shucks, I’m making myself hungry again. They also make their own dill pickles. Oh yes, grinders also, but the roll isn’t always an Italian and sometimes, well, most of the time he likes his roll toasted.
Guess I have things to do. Best part is that I will be doing the driving and finding the “go to’s.” That’s it for now. Take care. I’m going to research some rehab places. I hope you all have a great evening. Stay safe.

We had snow this morning but nothing like they predicted. Never started until 8:00 and was pretty much over by 9:00.❄ Then it turned to rain and melted but more is supposed to come tonight. Like I said yesterday, each day through the weekend something is falling from the sky.🌧
The game was crazy yesterday, score was like a football game.😵 We haven’t been real good in overtime but it worked out. I read PM said he will play on Sunday, he did real well last week so I have confidence in him and the team.👍 One more and then SB.🏆
Glad we heard from Oodie and her husband is getting the tests and care he needs. Keeping fingers crossed for them both.🤞 I’m sure your husband is happy he only had to serve one day.😊 Sending hugs back to you and Poppy.🤗

Affirmations
Our minds accept as truth the critical statements we tell ourselves, but it can also accept our positive affirmations.
The words we speak and think hold great sway over the kind of life that we create for ourselves. Many people live their lives plagued by negative thoughts and never even realize this. They tell themselves and others that they are doomed to fail, not good enough, or not worthy of love, yet they are amazed when their reality starts reflecting these words. Just as the subconscious mind accepts as truth the critical statements we tell ourselves, however, it is also equipped to instantly accept the veracity of our affirmations.
Affirmations are statements chosen and spoken consciously. Once they enter our realm of consciousness, they also enter our subconscious mind where they have the power to change our lives. The affirmations you create should be specific, not too long, worded positively, formed in complete sentences, and spoken in the present tense as if what you are affirming is already true. It is a good idea to repeat your affirmations daily. You may want to tell yourself that you deserve to be happy or that you are in control of your destiny. Or, you may want to focus on a particular goal, such as attracting new friends. Rather than telling yourself you want to be well-liked, say, “I am well-liked.” Your subconscious mind will pick up on these positive messages, and you will begin to live your life as if what you are affirming already has happened. Soon, your reality will begin to reflect your affirmations. If you find that you are thwarting yourself with negative thinking, try repeating your affirmations several times a day. Write your affirmations down and say them aloud or in your mind. Allow your conviction to grow stronger each time you say your affirmations, and your negativity will be overridden by your motivation and positive thoughts.
Affirmations are a powerful tool for creating our desired reality. We consciously and subconsciously invite opportunity into our lives when we say affirmations. Trust in the power of your affirmations, and you will very quickly create what you have already stated to be true.
Amen! ✨✨✨
