Conversation – 18
Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 18 out of the series. I created and started this thread 9 years ago.
I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

Hey Sheba, No hiking today or yesterday because it’s raining. Lots of rain here and lots of snow in the Mountains. We need it here so I am good with it. My husbands roof repairs seem to be holding steady. He plans to repaint the area and put a new baseboard in the bedroom. Fingers crossed and knock on wood it’s all sealed.
Did you hear about the passing of Cindy Williams and Lisa Loring (Child from Adams Family)?
Tomorrow, I decided is the day to get my passport photo. Not looking forward to it as the background is white and washes me out. Played with some eye concealers today but I might be hopeless. haha
Have a great evening, your probably already sleeping. Nice snow picture!

Oodie, Sorry you are still so sick. Gets as much rest as possible. Your husband sounds like he is in good hands. Hope you feel better soon. Maybe some nyquil? It’s my go to whenever I feel sick oh, that and gargle with Listerine, in addition to your honey, tea and add some Lemons.

I am now coughing up a storm. Slept the day away, but managed to put 2 loads of garbage out prior to pickup. Don’t ask how. Just that I was able to do it. My voice is still hoarse. Not sure if I will be going to the hospital anytime soon.
Case management phoned today. They gave me 6 places for rehab and I think I found one. It’s near me and the hospital. Looks like the facilities are all on one floor and it is bright and cheerful. They have a barber and someone to do hair styling. Hubby may enjoy the barber. His beard must be really long by now. Cannot believe that it has been 4 days since I last saw hubby. And tomorrow may be 5 days. The rehab I picked has a view of the Manatee River, a dining room with tablecloths, a library, up to date rehab (better take a measurement of the steps and the one for the van. Hubby is now eating on his own. Seems that he has some esophagus problems. Actually, he has had this problem ever since I met him and maybe now he can eat without a problem thanks to the speech therapist. Yes, he is doing much better thanks to all your prayers and then some.
I contacted the roofer today. They will start on the roof sometime this week, weather permitting. Still haven’t heard from the electrician and surmise they have not received all of their supplies. I changed the day on the delivery for the washer and dryer to Friday. Hopefully, I’ll be back in business for the weekend. The hospital has been informed that I will not be able to do the laundry until the electrical has been replaced. It will also be great to get Spectrum back as well. Alot to do before hubby returns home.
Many years ago, the A/C made people very ill. Back then it was called Legionnaires disease. I would not be surprised if this is what I had. The A/C was on full power in the ER. I was cold and so was hubby. Luckily I brought a heavy duty jacket and hubby got an extra blanket. Manuka honey along with ginger lemon tea helped. I forgot it was also a diuretic. At least it got rid of the sore throat. Unfortunately, the laryngitis is still with me, but at least I can now talk.

@Sheba
Hello Sheba, how was your day? And how are your projects coming along?
It was a warm 82 degrees today. Reminded me of a California day, warm and no humidity.
With groceries from both Kroger and Walmart we are stocked. I just need eggs and a few little items they didn’t have.
Cooked some Oxtails today, this time the packages were a bit larger with more inside.
Separated the large ones from the small and cooked them in separate pots. Freezing one large Oxtail per container. How is your cousin doing? Wishing her a speedy recovery.
Take care Sheba and stay warm.

OMG is all I can say!😲 It was meant to be and sure was not a stress-free game. Had to watch until the last second. PM now has two weeks to, hopefully, heal that ankle. As the saying goes, it’s never over ’til it’s over! Thought of you the whole time having fits.😫
Another dreary day, we will be getting colder and maybe a little snow.🥶❄ Haven’t heard from the family so I am assuming they got back and all is well.
Thanks for the beautiful roses and treats.🥰 That is the perfect table setting. Hope it warms up some in Oz and the ‘burgh. I think the groundhog will see his shadow, especially with all those cameras and lights on him, lol!😂🦔 Blowing kisses your way.😘

The Secret of Surrender
Surrender should be seen as a great strength and comes when we let go of trying to attain the impossible.
Most of us were raised and live in a culture that emphasizes the ideals of independence and control. The general idea is that we are on our own and we don’t need any help from anyone else, and if we are really successful it’s because we are in complete control. However, true lasting success comes only with surrender, which is the opposite of control. We cannot accomplish anything truly great on our own, without any help, and the idea that we can is an illusion that causes most of us a great deal of suffering. Surrender comes when we see that illusion and let go of trying to attain the impossible. Surrender can then be seen as a great strength rather than a weakness.
Even small moments of surrender are powerful indicators of how different our lives could be if we would only let go. We’ve all had the experience of extending huge amounts of effort and energy to reach a particular goal only to realize that we can’t make it happen after all. At the moment of letting go, realizing that we need to ask for help or simply release our agenda entirely, a profound feeling of relief may rush over us. This warm, open sensation is the essence of surrender, and if we didn’t feel that we didn’t really let go. But it is never too late to let go, even of things in the past that didn’t work out the way we wanted them to, because surrender is always an option in every moment of our lives.
When we finally do surrender, our goals actually become possible, because the act of surrender is, in essence, asking for the help we need. This help may come in the form of other human beings or unseen helpers such as angels or inner guides. It may also come in the form of shifting circumstances, the small miracles that we call grace. Amen! 🌹✨✨
