Conversation – 18
Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 18 out of the series. I created and started this thread 9 years ago.
I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

The countdown is on, it will be a long week. Are you going to any SB parties? I think we’ll stay home in our comfortable chairs with pizza and wine.🏈🍕🍷
Temps going up, we may hit 60 mid-week.😊 Back down again for the weekend. Not much happening this week so may try to get my tax stuff together.📝
Hope your sister is coming along without problems. Still praying for your cousin.🙏 Hugs to you, Poppy and Charlie.🤗💖

@Sheba
Hello Sheba, I hope your Monday is going well.
It’s a lovely day here, 75 degrees right now and tonight in the mid fifties. Last night and this morning around 5:30AM the Moon was gorgeous. There were several large stars in the sky too.The Grammy Awards was pretty good, enjoyed seeing the oldies and some new ones too.
Enjoy your walks with Poppy Sheba ❤️❤️❤️ -
I am still coughing. Still blowing the nose. And itchy eyes. Phoned the doctor’s office and I surmise that the meds are waiting for me. Since Asisan takeout is there, will give me self a treat.
Hubby phoned me this afternoon. We had a wonderful conversation for over two hours and had to say goodbye to recharge the battery. There was absolutely no sign of dementia. And now I think it’s his morning meds. Also had a phone call from the rehab. They asked tons of questions as to what he was able to do prior to hospitalization. Those questions and others made the call over 45 minutes. It was delightful to speak with them. No comparison to the one in Savannah.
The washer and dryer were delivered this afternoon. And as of now, we have electrical. I did not know that there was someone in our community who did that. I am finding out that there is a licensed plumber somewhere nearby as well. There will be a huge celebration when hubby is able to return home. I cancelled the electrician this morning and rescheduled for Thursday am.
That will give me a few extra days to pour over what to bring. It has to be the morning pills that are making him not only tired, but for his blood pressure to spiral downward as well. Once I am feeling better will make a doctor appointment and reschedule the MAM.Thank you, thank you and thank you on the update of Heidi and with Adam Freeman no less. Wonder what delights along with laughter and huge smiles she will bring. Welcome Spring…..

Permission to Be Real
When we present ourselves to the world without a persona and keep it real, we offer the same opportunity for others to do the same.
Most of us are familiar with the idea of keeping it real and have an intuitive sense about what that means. People who keep it real don’t hide behind a persona to keep themselves safe from their fear of how they might be perceived. They don’t present a false self in order to appear more perfect, more powerful, or more independent. People who keep it real present themselves as they truly are, the good parts and the parts most of us would rather hide, sharing their full selves with the people who are lucky enough to know them.
Being real in this way is not an easy thing to do as we live in a culture that often shows us images of physical and material perfection. As a result, we all want to look younger, thinner, wealthier, and more successful. We are rewarded externally when we succeed at this masquerade, but people who are real remind us that, internally, we suffer. Whenever we feel that who we are is not enough and that we need to be bigger, better, or more exciting, we send a message to ourselves that we are not enough. Meanwhile, people who are not trying to be something more than they are walk into a room and bring a feeling of ease, humor, and warmth with them. They acknowledge their wrinkles and laugh at their personal eccentricities without putting themselves down.
People like this inspire us to let go of our own defenses and relax for a moment in the truth of who we really are. In their presence, we feel safe enough to take off our personas and experience the freedom of not hiding behind a barrier. Those of us who were lucky enough to have a parent who was able to keep it real may find it easier to be that way ourselves. The rest of us may have to work a little harder to let go of our pretenses and share the beauty and humor of our real selves. Our reward for taking such a risk is that as we do, we will attract and inspire others, giving them the permission to be real too. ✨🌹 AMEN!
