Conversation – 18
Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 18 out of the series. I created and started this thread 9 years ago.
I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

Happy President’s Day to you as well. Guess you and hubby were able to get a lot accomplished with the extra day.
The last time I spoke with the person who will be doing our den floor was either Friday or Saturday. He thought Tuesday would be a good day and I said fine with me. However, that soon changed when he left me a voice mail. Unfortunately, by the time I arrived home it was too late to call him. I have no idea when he will be out. If it’s tomorrow, nothing was written in stone. And, it isn’t a habit with me to leave any doors unlocked.
My problem thus far is being able to get up before 6 am after going to bed either at midnight or shortly after. People are here between 7:30 am and 8 am, It has been trying and difficult especially when you are fighting a virus. Staying home all day yesterday and sleeping the day away really helped. Today I had Terminix. What you didn’t know is that I happened to walk into the kitchen about two weeks ago and saw a mouse. He ran from behind the frig to our stove area. I proceeded to yell at it and it shook like a leaf the whole time I was yelling. Anyway, while they were here, they checked everything outside and found an area in our new roof that was still opened. Any critter could crawl in there and enter our home. I had no way of knowing this since I hadn’t been able to check while feeling awful. However, there are a couple of other things I didn’t like and I let it be known through an e-mail. The roofers were supposed to reinforce the screens on the lanai, which they did not do. I asked for new screen doors. They sort of repaired the old ones. Now to fix it will cost more $$. I wrote to the people who recommended them this afternoon with the update. I will keep you updated on this, but, I do not think I have a leg to stand on. They had a iron clad contract that covered everything even and including using the same items if they could. To be perfectly honest, I did not want to sign the document. But, in reality I had no choice. They were the only ones that came through, though it took months before they started. Hubby was home at the time and had the same gut feeling. Unfortunately, he took sick and now is in rehab. I brought him up to date this evening. He is not too thrilled. I will be contacting our Insurance Company tomorrow and will follow through with the other business people as well. Meanwhile, we caught the critter while I was out and about. Terminix will return tomorrow.
I did see hubby this evening. He looks OK, but lost a lot of weight. He is stronger and is able to go to the bathroom. That is a huge plus. Tomorrow, I hope I can finally get to Lowes on the frig and if no one shows, make a trip to the Farmer’s Market. Hubby asked for an Italian grinder and pickles. They make everything from scratch and their pickles are OM……wonderful. I have a yen for clam chowder and hoping they have a container I can take home. Hubby asked for their potato soup and if not, their corn chowder. I just have to think of a way to keep it piping hot. Though the trip is about 5 miles one way, there are traffic lights, a school zone and tons of traffic which makes the trip 20 minutes. The return takes 10 minutes.
Oh, my new glasses has been found. However, here is something to think about. Last night I had cleared the floor by the bar area. Today, the glasses were on the floor in the area I had cleared and cleaned. Have no idea how they got there. The last time I saw them was in the MB. Go figure.
That’s it for now. After breakfast tomorrow on to Lowes. Will try to get to the Market after. Return home for a brief time to put things away and then go to visit hubby. If the floor is installed tomorrow, then will do everything later. By the way, before I forget. I found a cough syrup with Manuka Honey. Best cough syrup I have ever had and that includes the ones with a prescription. Purchased through Amazon. I’ll give you the info in my next post.

Good afternoon, hope you are relaxing today after your busy weekend. Sounds like you love trees like me, lol.🌳🌲 Beautiful but lots of work. I’m ready for a palm tree dropping a coconut in my lap.🌴🥥
Mom and sis are fine, the four of us are going to the Cheesecake Factory for a late lunch tomorrow. Mom wants to get it in before Lent starts so she can eat sweets.😊
Busy week, lots of running around for things.🏃♀️ Hockey team disappointing, maybe they can win one out of four. Husband and sis going on Thursday.🏒
Baking pork chops today, enjoy your good smelling roast. That is one of my favorite meals with potatoes, carrots, onions, gravy.😊 Sending hugs back to you and Poppy.🤗💖

Avoiding the Center
Quiet time each day is so important, but many are so out of practice that it’s almost unnerving to be in stillness.
It’s funny to imagine our lives as something we spend a lot of time avoiding, because it seems like that would be impossible to do. Our lives consist of everything we engage in, from showering to sleeping, but also a lot of busy work that distracts us and keeps us from looking at our lives. Experiencing our life from the inside means taking time each day to simply be alone and quiet in the presence of our soul. Many of us are so out of practice that it’s almost unnerving to have a moment to ourselves. As a result, we may have stopped trying to carve out that time to take a seat at the center of our lives.
One of the reasons it can be uncomfortable to sit with ourselves is because when we do, we tend to open ourselves to an inner voice, which might question the way we’re living or some of the choices we’re making. Sometimes the voice reminds us of our secret, inner yearnings, dreams we thought we had forgotten. When we already feel overwhelmed by our busy schedules, the idea of hearing this voice can be exhausting. However, its reflections are the chords that connect us to our authentic selves, and they are the very things that make our lives worth living. When we continually avoid connecting with our life, we risk losing out on the very purpose of our existence.
To begin the process of being more present and less absent in your life, you might want to set aside just a few minutes each day to simply sit with yourself. This doesn’t mean watching a movie or reading a book, but taking time each day for self-examination to avoid the avoidance, to be with yourself in an open way. After a while, you may start to enjoy this part of the day so much that you make less busy work for yourself, so that you can spend more time at the center of your own life, rather than hovering like a planet around the sun. AMEN! ✨✨
