Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 18 out of the series. I created and started this thread 9 years ago.
I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎

When the snow is piling up and chilly winter winds are blowing outside, nothing takes away the cold feeling like a bowl of homemade soup.
What is the History of homemade soup?
Before stores were able to rely on modern modes of transportation, soups were made at home from foods that were regionally available.That is one of the reasons there are so many recipes for homemade soup out there!
Soups have been warming us for thousands of years. Watery gruel is likely the origin of soup as we know it.
From 1150 to about 1500 the word soupen meant “to drink in sips.” Soup, supper, and sip are derivatives of this word.
Historians believe that soup was the foundation of the first public restaurants in Paris in the 18th century.
Soups such as consommé, bouillion and broths were served in these early “restoratifs”. The word restaurant derives from this term.
In the 19th century canned and dehydrated soups came into use. This kept soldiers and cowboys fed.
Doctor John T. Dorrance, a chemist working with the Campbell Soup Company, invented the first condensed soup in 1897. Since then Americans have been consuming soups in huge numbers.
