Conversation – 18
Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 18 out of the series. I created and started this thread 9 years ago.
I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

“Nice To Be Around”Hello such a simple way to start a love affair
Should I jump right in and say how much I care
Would you take me for a mad man or a simple hearted clown
Hello with affection from a sentimental fool
To a little girl who’s broken of every rule
One who brings me up when all the others seem to let me down
One whose nice to be aroundShould I say that it’s a blue world without you
Nice words I remember from an old love song
But all wrong, ’cause I never called it love before
This feeling’s new – this came with youAnd I know that the nicest things that never seem to last
That we’re both a bit embarrassed by our past
But I think there’s something special in the feelings that we’ve found
And you’re nice to be around
And you’re nice to be around -
I am hoping that we are now done with the critters. Terminix was here around 9 am and there were three caught under the sink. This person is the manager and gave me his card so I can contact him directly. I also left a message on the contractor’s phone and I saw he was home on the return from rehab. Hopefully, he will be here tomorrow and I can show him the area that needs the repair. After that we should not see anything more. At least let’s hope so.
I contacted the electrician this morning and they will be out tomorrow morning to repair the ballast so we have lights that work in that bathroom. I also added the installation of a new motion detector for outside or to repair the one that is there that does not seem to work. Next week I will contact the plumber on the leaky faucet and to repair the faucet so that I can work on the lanai.
Hubby looked good this evening. He ate most of his dinner. Now he is asking for strawberries which I will bring tomorrow. Actually the roommate is also asking for some as well. The roommate has been very helpful to my husband and I won’t mind going out of the way for him. He has had no visitors from either family or friends.
I left hubby just before 7 pm. As I walked out and down the two steps I could feel something on my arm that was a bit wet. It was rain and it was coming down ever so gently. The ride home was good. No thunder. No lightning. No downpour. We needed this rain and of course this is just the tip of what we really need. We did have a downpour as I started the washing machine. This must be t he beginning of our cold front which will stay for awhile. And the reason why hubby’s back and my hip felt better. I think we will have another round of rain sometime during the weekend.
Terminix was here this morning. There were three critters under the sink, I am hoping that this is the last of them. I left a voice mail this afternoon with the contractor who lives across the street. I’m hoping he will be here since the electrician is due in the early morning hours. That’s it for now. I need to check on the laundry I started when I returned from the rehab. Have a wonderful evening. Stay safe.

Thanks for helping us celebrate 52 years. It really does not seem possible. Today, I mentioned to hubby that we will take a boat ride on the Gulf. Part of that boat ride is a huge lunch. He loved the idea. At least now he has something to look forward to.
Hubby was eating dinner when I arrived. He smelled heavenly and I could tell he was enjoying every bite. He left most of the hamburg pattie. Seems they mixed it with cream of corn. Guess no one is watching the carbs. Also, no back pain today. Guess the low must be here or around the corner. I will say the same for my hip. I can do more today than the entire week. Again, thanks for everything.
Oops, almost forgot. Seeing snakes is not my cup of tea either. However, there are times when I need to venture to the trunk of our van to fetch bottles of water. There is a black snake that loves our hibiscus that sits near the road and across from our van. If I go out too late, I hear a hissing sound and you bet I r sh back to the house. I also do not like the geckos.

@Sheba
Hello Sheba, Happy International Women’s Day 💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐
we had a cloudy day today. However still warm into the eighties.
Sheba I am sorry for your loss, I wasn’t aware of the person being your cousin. Praying and sending prayers your way.Nothing exciting here, just a very boring day. Spent much time trying to get my groceries delivered from Walmart that their computer system don’t recognize my address anymore. Still no success with their customer support service. 😕
That Moon was definitely lovely last night, it lit everything in the backyard. Have not seen any creatures lately with the exception of the cute bunny. He likes to sit in the afternoon towards evening. He just sits quietly looking around and munching on the grass.
Take care Sheba ❤️❤️❤️🤗🤗🤗🌷🌷🌷

Sheba, Yes, it snowed. It does snow in the Mountains here and there are some nice ski area’s and such. I think maybe it snowed at some lower levels that normally don’t get snow. As for the snow in the Mountains it sounds like a lot hit and the roads are not cleared as quickly as needed. I am left wondering about the lack of preparation and where are the local City’s snow plows? Maybe they didn’t have enough? Some vehicles were completely buried. More is on the way at the end of the week. Let’s hope they all made it down the Mtn to Costco and are stocked up now.
Hubs won’t be too happy if the roof doesn’t hold up for this next rain. I guess we will see what happens.
Oh, saw my 1st snake of the season today on my crazy hike. Once I saw the snake I ran and then went into scaredy cat mode but I still finished the hike.
The Samantha Brown essential bag sold out. I sure hope it gets restocked because I want the pink one.
Have a great evening! -
Nice! Sunshine and Spring time all in one lovely picture.

Another nice sunny day, things go down hill after tomorrow. Snow showers on Friday and it will be cold for the St. Patrick’s Day parade on Saturday.🥶 I just knew that would happen. We had a blizzard one year with almost two feet of snow on parade day.
Thanks for the shout out on the game. I gave up when they were losing 4-0 to the worst team in the league.😫 Left the room to watch something else until my husband told me they tied it up. Does that make me a fickle fan?😮 Can’t waste my time when they play like high school kids.
Cooking a meatloaf with baked potatoes for dinner, a husband favorite. Enjoy your evening.
Tell Poppy I’m wagging my tail back at him!🤗💖 -
So sorry to hear about the passing of your cousin. Not an easy road for you and your family. Please take care and I will send prayers your way as well.
Last night I completed pages and pages of forms for the urologist. Once they receive the package, an appointment will be made. I just hope hubby will be able to return home after all is said and done. Our insurance has stopped paying the rehab and suggest he goes into skilled nursing care. I think he will be doing better if he is home and can walk from room to room. I will seek some health care here at home for him for as many days as our insurance will pay. He will probably eat better too since we both can do the cooking which also will help the recovery process.
The kitchen process has stopped for now. Finding more critters and I now know where they are coming from. I have left word with our neighbor who is a contractor and hope I will hear from him soon. I think both he and his wife are away. No, they have not returned to their other home as yet. He just comp[leted resealing his driveway, so I imagine they are using the time for something else.
Well, back to doing whatever. I may stop at Aldi’s today. Tomorrow is garbage and recyclables. This week has gone by way too fast. Talk to you later. Oh, have not contacted Spectrum. Need to work on the MB , den and lanai. I only work a couple of hours each day so I can relax a bit and then go and see hubby. I need to contact the electrician to fix a light in the guest bathroom. I guess it needs a new ballast and a good cleaning. Have my hands full is an understatement.

Be Open
As we live, we will go through the processes of opening to new information, integrating it, and stabilizing our worldview.
Living in an information age, it is easy to become overwhelmed by the constant influx of scientific studies, breaking news, and even spiritual revelations that fill our bookshelves, radio waves, and in-boxes. No sooner have we decided what to eat or how to think about the universe than a new study or book comes out confounding our well-researched opinion. After a while, we may be tempted to dismiss or ignore new information in the interest of stabilizing our point of view, and this is understandable. Rather than closing down, we might try instead to remain open by allowing our intuition to guide us.
For example, contradictory studies concerning foods that are good for you and foods that are bad for you are plentiful. At a certain point, though, we can feel for ourselves whether coffee or tomatoes are good for us or not. The answer is different for each individual, and this is something that a scientific study can’t quite account for. All we can do is take in the information and process it through our own systems of understanding. In the end, only we can decide what information, ideas, and concepts we will integrate. Remaining open allows us to continually change and shift by checking in with ourselves as we learn new information. It keeps us flexible and alert, and while it can feel a bit like being thrown off balance all the time, this openness is essential to the process of growth and expansion.
Perhaps the key is realizing that we are not going to finally get to some stable place of having it all figured out. Throughout our lives we will go through the processes of opening to new information, integrating it, and stabilizing our worldview. No sooner will we have reached some kind of stability than it will be time to open again to new information, which is inherently destabilizing. If we see ourselves as surfers riding the incoming waves of information and inspiration, always open and willing to attune ourselves to the next shift, we will see how blessed we are to have this opportunity to play on the waves and, most of all, to enjoy the ride.
