Conversation – 18
Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 18 out of the series. I created and started this thread 9 years ago.
I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

Good morning you are making perfect sense and that is a good idea. Xango since I was
a child mom and I have always cooked together. I have learned that is the best way to cook
like a pro and loving mother. I still use anything my mother had in her kitchen in the way of
brands and spices if my mother does not use it then I do not use it. ✨🌹My mother is an ace when it comes to gardening, sewing and most of all cooking anything.✨
I was always a curious child so I watched everything that she did. We even did canning food
together mom would have a large pot of peaches for example if she was canning peaches.
Mom canned all of her veggies we never brought anything in a can. WE just went into the Pantry
and would get what ever we wanted for a meal. 💕🌹✨I may surprise my mother and make the bread myself. Xango your notes about food and spices
reminds me of my mother in a beautiful way. 💕My mother would like you very much she always
liked my friends. ✨We always use fresh butter for the homemade bread. 😎

Good morning in Oz, I hope you had a beautiful Sunday and your husband a lovely Father’s Day.
I am sure your hubby enjoyed every bit of the delicious meal you made for him this Father’s Day.
Technology is wonderful, FaceTime is great to bring loved ones together when they can’t be near.
We had some rain today, glad your area is getting rain all this time. The plants love everytime mother nature offers them a drink of water.
Here it’s so hot, it rains but then the Sun comes out and dries things again.I was living in Washington, DC in 1968, I remember the riots. Back then, I could only see it through the eyes of a child of course.
You mentioned something about you hope your mother bakes bread when you visit. How about searching a recipe on YouTube you would enjoy baking with your mother. Take all the ingredients with you, already measured, Flour, salt, sugar. Take the yeast in its container if you have. And if you need milk, eggs, cheese whatever else ask her if she has the amount you will need or just pick it up on your way there. That way, it will help your mother out on things, and you two spend less time measuring thing and so forth. It’s just about 3AM, not sure if I am making sense.
Here’s wishing you and your hubby a great start to the week.
Take care Sheba 🌹 🌹🌹🌹 -
Oz had beautiful rain today and it did not put a dapper on my day because in the coming
days we will be around 90 degrees all week. Sigh..✨😎Summerland is here. The A/C will be on for a while. I am so glad we had summer check up in April. ✨💕
We have a Central Air and that goes in each and every room. I keep it at a decent
temp. The bill can be sky high with the way the world is today.Oodie how are you doing today? I hope your husband ate something good brought
by you. I think he is ready to get out of the rehab.Oodie take your time in this heat. I would leave a very nice review for your cart. This seems
like a life saver for you and your busy life. ✨I know you are thinking of your father no matter how long it has been. Both hubby and I
had memories today very somber day for just a few minutes.I want to wish your father a Happy Birthday and may his memory be a blessings. 🌹✨

California Girls
Song by The Beach BoysWell, East Coast girls are hip
I really dig those styles they wear
And the Southern girls, with the way they talk
They knock me out when I’m down there
The Midwest farmers’ daughters really make you feel all right
And the Northern girls, with the way they kiss
They keep their boyfriends warm at night
I wish they all could be California
I wish they all could be California
I wish they all could be California girls
The West Coast has the sunshine
And the girls all get so tanned
I dig a French bikini on Hawaiian island dolls
By a palm tree in the sand
I been all around this great big world
And I seen all kinds of girls
Yeah, but I couldn’t wait to get back in the States
Back to the cutest girls in the world
I wish they all could be California
I wish they all could be California
I wish they all could be California girls
I wish they all could be California (girls, girls, girls, yeah, I dig the)
I wish they all could be California (girls, girls, girls, yeah, I dig the)
I wish they all could be California (girls, girls, girls, yeah, I dig the)
I wish they all could be California (girls, girls, girls, yeah, I dig the)
I wish they all could be California (girls, girls, girls, yeah, I dig the)

What is the story behind What a Wonderful World?
The single was released in 1968, a year in which America saw curfews as race riots spread from Newark and Detroit to over 100 cities. There were fears of a second civil war and the violence included attacks on Jewish shops. Was What a Wonderful World written for Louis Armstrong?
What a Wonderful World
Composition and productionIn Graham Nash’s book Off the Record: Songwriters on Songwriting, George Weiss says he wrote the song specifically for Louis Armstrong, as he was inspired by Armstrong’s ability to bring together people of different races.

What a Wonderful World
Song by Louis ArmstrongI see trees of green
Red roses too
I see them bloom
For me and you
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world
I see skies of blue
And clouds of white
The bright blessed day
The dark sacred night
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world
The colors of the rainbow
So pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces
Of people going by
I see friends shaking hands
Saying, “How do you do?”
They’re really saying
I love you
I hear babies cry
I watch them grow
They’ll learn much more
Than I’ll ever know
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world
Yes, I think to myself
What a wonderful world
Ooh, yes -
Those Lazy Hazy Crazy Days of Summer
Song by Nat King ColeRoll out those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer
Those days of soda and pretzels and beer
Roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer
Dust off the sun and moon and sing a song of cheer
Just fill your basket full of sandwiches and weenies
Then lock the house up, now you’re set
And on the beach you’ll see the girls in their bikinis
As cute as ever but they never get ’em wet
Roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer
Those days of soda and pretzels and beer
Roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer
You’ll wish that summer could always be here
Roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer
Those days of soda and pretzels and beer
Roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer
Dust off the sun and moon and sing a song of cheer
Don’t have to tell a girl and fella about a drive-in
Are some romantic movie scene
Right from the moment that those lovers start arrivin’
You’ll see more kissin’ in the car than on the screen
Roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer
Those days of soda and pretzels and beer
Roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer
You’ll wish that summer could always be here
You’ll wish that summer could always be here
You’ll wish that summer could always be here -

“It Was A Very Good Year”When I was seventeen it was a very good year
It was a very good year for small town girls and soft summer nights
We’d hide from the lights on the village green
When I was seventeenWhen I was twenty-one it was a very good year
It was a very good year for city girls who lived up the stair
With all that perfumed hair and it came undone
When I was twenty-oneThen I was thirty-five it was a very good year
It was a very good year for blue-blooded girls
Of independent means, we’d ride in limousines their chauffeurs would drive
When I was thirty-fiveBut now the days are short, I’m in the autumn of the year
And now I think of my life as vintage wine from fine old kegs
From the brim to the dregs, and it poured sweet and clear
It was a very good yea -
Cruel Summer
Song by BananaramaHot summer streets and the pavements are burning
I sit around
Trying to smile but the air is so heavy and dry
Strange voices are sayin’ (what did they say?)
Things I can’t understand
It’s too close for comfort, this heat has got right out of hand
It’s a cruel, (cruel) cruel summer
Leavin’ me here on my own
It’s a cruel, (it’s a cruel) cruel summer
Now you’re gone
The city is crowded, my friends are away
And I’m on my own
It’s too hot to handle, so I got to get up and go
It’s a cruel, (cruel) cruel summer
Leavin’ me here on my own
It’s a cruel, (it’s a cruel) cruel summer
Now you’re gone
Gonna feel only it was
It’s a cruel, (cruel) cruel summer
(Leavin’ me) leavin’ me here on my own
It’s a cruel, (it’s a cruel) cruel summer
Now you’re gone
It’s a cruel, cruel summer
Leaving me here on my own
It’s a cruel, cruel summer
Now you’re gone
You’re not the only one
It’s a cruel, (cruel) cruel summer
(Leavin’ me) leavin’ me here on my own
It’s a cruel, (it’s a cruel) cruel summer
Now you’re gone
You’re not the only one
It’s a cruel, (cruel) cruel summer
(Leavin’ me) leavin’ me here on my own
It’s a cruel, (it’s a cruel) cruel summer
Now you’re gone
You’re not the only one
It’s a cruel… -

I finally made it to the $1.25 Tree yesterday and found the place spic and span. It was easy to find what I needed and thus this store will become a favorite. Since I finished in no time I went next door to Bealls Outlet to look for a new handbag. I happen to enjoy the MultiSac with their different compartments and was sadden to see there were none. From there I backtracked about a mile or so to a new Italian restaurant that opened about two weeks ago. I was hoping to purchase a hot pastrami sandwich for hubby, but, alas, the place was closed at 5 pm. There was a sign on the door that apologised to everyone, stating that there was no help for the evening. They close at 4 pm and reopen at 5 pm.. Cannot believe that a new restaurant does not have weekend help. Something isn’t right and I now wonder if I should give them a try. This restaurant is well noted in the Bronx, New York. However, there are tons of Italian and Pizza places within a half mile of each other. Still, you do not open if there is a help situation. I surmise the owner thinks he is back in NYC, where help is always needed and hired. And, since it is a weekend went to a pizza place right near the highway. Ordered a meatball grinder and a shrimp pizza.
The sky darkened while I was waiting for my order and we had a few drops of rain. Not enough to turn the wipers on. I decided to wait in the van to continue reading a novel. I had opened all the windows, so there was always a breeze in this melt down weather.
I arrived at the rehab with everything in tow. I thank HSN everyday for selling the DBEST trolley. It has been a godsend and has saved my back numerous times. Having the cart enabled me to put the grinder into the case along with some items I purchased for hubby at the $1.25 store. I put my handbag over the bars and proceeded to the front door where I rang the bell. There was no juggling the items. Since it was a large pizza, that was the only thing I carried. Went to hubby’s room and found he wasn’t there. As I left to meander around one of the nurse’s approached me to ask if I brought hubby with me. I gave her a questionable look. She thought he was with me. She and the rest of her crew had searched everywhere for him with no luck. They assumed I took him out for a ride. But how would I when he isn’t able to get even out of bed by himself???? It took me two seconds to find him in a darkened TV room with a bunch of guys watching TV. The “Wheel” was on. He said he had eaten and wasn’t hungry for either the grinder or the pizza. I asked about dessert, not hungry for that either. So I brought both things home and put them in the frig.
Hubby still would like a hot pastrami sandwich, so will give this place another chance. Not sure if they do the sandwiches during the dinner hour. Looks like that’s a deli thing and they close between 2 pm and 4 pm depending on the day of the week. Guess I better think of a backup just in case.
No sun today. Cloudy. Humidity 90 something percent. Temp in the mid 80s. Rain is expected, but thus far, not a drop. Another disappointing day.
I hope your hubby is enjoying Father’s Day The gifts and the nice Facetime chats with all the kids. To think, just a few years ago it was the landline. Who would’ve thought…….🌴🌴🌴🎉🧨🍦🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁
