Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 18 out of the series. I created and started this thread 9 years ago.
I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

I fell asleep at the computer and awoke around 2:30 am.. The first thing I did was put the garbage and recycle out since we both do this every Thursday. Then returned and for some reason went to my post. I read Pookie’s note which was very, no, extremely uplifting. I now have an inkling, well, somewhat of an inkling of what my hubby has. Thankfully, there are things that can be tried and may bring him some relief and the removal of the catheter. Just have to find the right physicians and if there is one in Florida I will be a happy camper. If not, may grit my teeth and fly north with an appointment the same day we arrive. One thing Pookie has done is give me some hope and as long as I have that, then my mind will kick in to do the necessary research and to ask the questions that will really start the recovery process. Thankfully, everything right now is in working order, just not working together. I will keep you updated on how things are going, etc.. At least Pookie made me feel better and there may be a light at the end of this tunnel. And yes, it seems my hubby has the same symptoms as to what pookie described. And, the cause could be the many falls from bed and hitting his forehead a few times on the nightstand. And, falling out of bed, it’s only this bed, no other. Go figure……..

Thank you pookie for the information. Yes, the reading really helped. The Rehab is trying to make an appointment with an urologist for either Friday or Monday if possible. I gave them two choices with good ratings and the affiliation of the hospital that is up and coming and one other as well. I also realize that Florida does not have the best doctors and thankfully we still have a home up North. But, we need to start somewhere. Hopefully, between myself and the physicians along with the nurses we can stop the progression and when ready head to our other home and be closer to better medical care. And your help has also given me info that may have caused this problem in the long run. Thank you again for your help and yes, I do have a notebook and will begin using it for info and questions. Actually, it is something I started when hubby was hospitalized in Savannah. You have given me some hope and the knowledge that he may not need the catheter for the rest of his life. I will keep everyone updated on this thread. Now I need to check on the nephrologists.

Oodiebom, sorry you and your husband are suffering through this. Look up Neurogenic Bladder on the John Hopkins website. This will help you. Then look up stage 3 kidney disease. You are going to need a good Urologist and a very good Nephrologist. Unfortunately health care in Florida is not the best. I was diagnosed with stage 3 chronic kidney disease by a doctor and was told that there was nothing that could be done about it and it was my age. I left her office, went home and looked up every Nephrologist in my area. He sent me for additional tests and also told me that I did not have kidney disease, he could tell by looking at me. So, it turned out that there was nothing wrong with my kidneys and the first doctor was completely wrong after scaring the heck out of me. Don’t give up hope, start a notebook, and let the Medical Staff see you writing in it. Even if you aren’t writing anything specific, it catches their attention and they start paying a lot more attention to you. Have a list of questions you want answered every time you go. As far as your husband’s bladder goes, many years ago I had my bladder damaged during surgery. I was on a catheter for close to a year and a half. I had two failed bladder surgeries in attempts to correct what they did to me, then the third surgery finally worked. This was in Los Angeles and I had the “best” surgeon’s at Cedars-Sinai and the University of (I can’t remember the name of it, but I was sent there to the top surgeon in the Country, who “wrote the book” on bladder surgery. He performed the wrong surgery on me. You are going to have to take very good care of yourself so that you can stay on top of this. God willing his kidneys will be alright and he will be off that catheter in a couple of months if not sooner.
