Conversation – 18
Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 18 out of the series. I created and started this thread 9 years ago.
I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

To continue: I ordered a pizza and picked it up. This place is near home and they make the most delicious chicken cordon bleu. I ordered a large one to serve hubby, roommate and myself. Was more than enough for the three of us. And it was still piping hot when I arrived at the rehab.
In my conversation with the head nurse I mentioned that hubby has been enduring a lot of lower back pain with the pain radiating down his left leg. Consequently, he just stays in bed and when breakfast, lunch or dinner arrives he says he isn’t hungry. Well, tonight was a bit different. Hubby ate his entire dinner, not sure what it was. He was awake and alert. His eyes popped when he saw me carrying a pizza box. Gave hubby a gigantic slice. He ate more than half and I left the uneaten portion on his tray. I was impressed. I also told him he may be returning home soon, but I wanted him to see an urologist first. He was flabbergasted. But I also said that he would have to eat the three meals daily so that he could climb the three steps to enter the house. Of course I would have help if he still had the catheter. I am hoping that with exercise and the right diet, he will no longer need the extra help. I feel a bit better. I just hope he continues.on this pat.h We shall see. Yes, I’m feeling a bit better. Only time will tell if he can continue on this path.
It is still quite warm and on the humid side on the Gulf. The temp in the house was 86 since I had turned t he A/C off completely early this morning. I put it on just a few minutes ago. No rain today. Have no idea how the weather will afffect us tomorrow. I am hoping to visit Lowes to check out flooring and a new vanity. Also hoping I can find a linen closet .
Returning home, the sky was magnificent in it’s orange color. The bright yellow of the sun looked good with the color pallette.
Good night to you, Poppy and hubby. May you have pleasant dreams.

Good day in beautiful Oz! It is sunny and around 50 in the ‘burgh.🌞 May have some rain and snow showers tomorrow afternoon🌧❄ then 60’s for the weekend.
Ran to mom’s this morning to help her with a couple things. She has arthritis in her hands so she has very little strength to grasp things – like opening a wine bottle, lol!🤣 Me and sis do all the lifting and grabbing.
Hockey game tonight, we are hanging on by a thread.🏒 We are going to our last game for the season this Thursday. We don’t go to playoff games because they are so expensive, about $300 a seat just for the first round. I will relax on my love seat with a glass of wine if they make it.🍷
Hubs going out with the guys tonight for a sandwich🍔 so I will have leftover chili. I don’t even watch the news anymore, so disgusting, but I read the paper and computer which is enough.😪 Such a shame, no place is safe.

Hi and good afternoon. Instead of watching telly, try going online and read some of the news from MSN. At the bottom of my page in the right hand corner I have a cloud with a red dot over it. If you roll the mouse on this you get MSN Shorts. Usually it’s a bunch of animals doing crazy things that give me a laugh or two. You also get the regular news as well. I find this area a good place to go after reading devastating news or I feel overwhelmed. It does the heart good to have a good laugh now and then.
I’ve been on the phone with my doctor’s office as well as with the Rehab. Cannot figure out why the nurses and myself cannot get through to the Urologist group. We either get a phone that rings and rings, voice mail or e-mail where they say they will get back to you. I’m beginning to feel that the number we are using may be incorrect, especially if they have not updated their website in some time. Also spoke to the head nurse during the day shift. I will try to get their tomorrow in the early afternoon to see if changes are being made. I’m running a bit late right now., and will pick up a pizza on my way to rehab.

Anticipating the Good
Change will occur in almost every aspect of our lives, we can learn to embrace it while releasing the past with grace.
When we find ourselves going through any kind of change in our lives, our natural response may be to tense up on the physical, mental, or emotional level. We may not even notice that we have braced ourselves against a shift until we recognize the anxiety, mood swings, or general worried feeling toward the unknown that usually results. There are positive ways to move through change without pushing it away, however, or attempting to deny that it is happening. Since change will occur in almost every aspect of our lives, we can learn to make our response to it an affirmative one of anticipation, welcoming the new while releasing the past with grace.
One thing we can do is change our perspective by changing the labels we use to identify our feelings. We can reinterpret feelings of anxiety as the anxious butterflies that come with eager expectation. With this shift, we begin to look for the good that is on its way to us. Though we may only be able to imagine the possibilities, when we acknowledge that good is there for us to find, we focus our energy on joyful anticipation and bring it into our experience while allowing the feelings to carry us forward.
We can also choose to do a ceremony to allow our emotions to process. Every culture has created ceremonies to help people make the transition from one phase of life to the next. We can always create a ceremony too, perhaps by burning written thoughts to watch the smoke carry them away, thereby releasing them, or we can welcome new endeavors by planting flowers or trees. Some ceremonial activities such as a farewell send-off or housewarming party, we may do automatically. Society also has built-in ceremonies, like graduation and weddings, which may satisfy the need we feel. Sometimes the shift from denial to acceptance is all that is needed to ease our anxiety, allowing us to bring our memories with us as we move through nervousness to joyful excitement about the good to come. AMEN! ✨✨
