Conversation – 18
Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 18 out of the series. I created and started this thread 9 years ago.
I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

Sheba, 30 degrees at the end of April, nuts. The blooms here are really pretty. Haven’t seen anything like this here since we were in a perpetual drought.
Hope you and Iris stay warm. -
Guess what I will be wearing all weekend. My Iris Apfel Jackets Oz will be in the 30’s.
I am making soup that will keep hubby and I warm. 💕💕A lot of people plants will be ruined if not covered properly.
Spring is still here the heat will be on too. ✨😎

Sheba, this is such a bright happy thread. I can’t believe it was 80 today. That has not happened for a while. Have a great weekend also!

I like your idea of having some extra hands. However, I like puttering a nd doing things myself. Gives me an opportunity to recycle and make some drastic decisions. For one, I only have one cabinet for pots and pans. My kitchen is small. The largest one is the Cape. The pots and pans I will definitely need to go through. There are just too many to have in one place. Druing the break between questions in Trivia, will empty that cabinet completely and decide where things will go. Most will be recycled if I haven’t used them within 6 mos. to a year.
I just went to check on the wash and the clothing feels a bit soapy. I probably added too much softener, so put it through a rinse and spin cycle which should do the trick. Hubby needs clothing for Monday which is the ultrasound. Funny, The Head Nurse mentioned that his appointment was changed to the morning, but they phoned with an afternoon appointment, which I took care of. No more problem. It’s in the afternoon. I hope to be in his room before he returns.
The care package is done. Still in the frig. I’m bringing a grinder for hubby and his roommate along with a bowl of fruit with the end of Florida’s strawberry season. Not to worry, I will not be touching the strawberries with my hand. And just in case something occurs, I do have Benedryl handy and my phone.
Yep, I am tired. But when something gets accomplished it gives me a high and enough of high to go on to the next thing. I just have to watch the clock so I am in bed before 3 am. I am really more of a night goer and have been that way most of my life.
Do not work too hard today. Remember to take your sinus meds whether working inside or outside. Tis the season for allergies. Oh, since I have a full tank of gas, decided to try a different route to see hubby. Less traffic lights and no stop signs. Took me only 20 minutes from the Farmer’s Market, so I expect it to be 15 minutes from my door to his room. If there is no one behind me or in front will go slower for the scenic look. I think there are a couple of restaurants that looked promising.
No rain in sight. Some puffy clouds that are magnificent. There is one in the shape of an elephant and others are dogs, and fish. See ya later. Probably will be a half hour late or so. Not to worry. I do not speed.

The Changing Nest
As the nest empties, parents can alleviate the sadness by rediscovering themselves and honoring the strides their children have made.
Once individuals become parents, they are parents forevermore. Their identities change perceptively the moment Mother Nature inaugurates them mom or dad. Yet the role they undertake when they welcome children into their lives is not a fixed one. As children move from one phase of their lives to the next, parental roles change. When these transitions involve a child gaining independence, many parents experience an empty nest feeling. Instead of feeling proud that their children have achieved so much—whether the flight from the nest refers to the first day of kindergarten or the start of college—parents feel they are losing a part of themselves. However, when approached thoughtfully, this new stage of parental life can be an exciting time in which mothers and fathers rediscover themselves and relate to their children in a new way.
As children earn greater levels of independence, their parents often gain unanticipated freedom. Used to being depended upon by and subject to the demands of their children, parents sometimes forget that they are not only mom or dad but also individuals. As the nest empties, parents can alleviate the anxiety and sadness they feel by rediscovering themselves and honoring the immense strides their children have made in life. The simplest way to honor a child undergoing a transition is to allow that child to make decisions and mistakes appropriate to their level of maturity. Freed from the role of disciplinarian, parents of college-age children can befriend their offspring and undertake an advisory position. Those with younger children beginning school or teenagers taking a first job can plan a special day in which they express their pride and explain that they will always be there to offer love and support.
An empty nest can touch other members of the family unit as well. Young people may feel isolated or abandoned when their siblings leave the nest. As this is normal, extra attention can help them feel more secure in their newly less populated home. Spouses with more leisure time on their hands may need to relearn how to be best friends and lovers. Other family members will likely grieve less when they understand the significance of the child’s new phase of life. The more parents both celebrate and honor their children’s life transitions, the less apprehension the children will feel. Parents who embrace their changing nest while still cherishing their offspring can look forward to developing deeper, more mature relationships with them in the future. AMEN! ✨✨

Good day on the Gulf Coast of Florida. ✨😎🌹I did read your post from nearly an hour
ago. Oodie I hope you got some good sleep and rest. Oodie you need more rest.I am wishing your husband good luck on Monday with the camera and all. I hope all turns
out well. I would be concerned too that is natural. I know you both will live with the results.Oodie you are doing the cleaning of the kitchen again I feel your pain. I wish you hire
someone to do certain homes and chores even you only need them for a few days.
Better yet I would use a good service maybe once a week. Monies well spent. ✨If I had some of my nieces and sisters here I would never have to do a full house again.
I like doing my own cleaning but if it is a major one time job then I could use a hand.
I don’t need everyday but once in a while for something major would be great. ✨✨
Besides two hands make the time fly and of course we will be talking I have three daughters
and I can’t wait for them to visit home. 🌹💕I spoil them so it would not be much for them
to do. My kids don’t like a lot of STUFF they keep things to a minimal. ✨See you later in Trivia if you are running a bit late someone will start the game I am sure.
Oodie drive safe and take care. ✨😎
