Conversation – 18
Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 18 out of the series. I created and started this thread 9 years ago.
I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

So Long, Farewell – The Sound of Music
There’s a sad sort of clanking
From the clock in the hall
And the bells in the steeple, too
And up in the nursery an absurd little bird
Is popping out to say “cuckoo” (Cuckoo, Cuckoo)Regretfully they tell us (Cuckoo)
But firmly they compel us (Cuckoo)
To say goodbye (Cuckoo)
To youSo long, farewell
Auf wiedersehen, goodnightI hate to go
And leave this pretty sightSo long, farewell
Auf wiedersehen, adeiuAdieu, adieu
To yieu and yieu and yieuSo long, farewell
Au revoir, auf wiedersehenI’d like to stay
And taste my first champagne(Spoken)
No?No
So long, farewell
Auf wiedersehen, goodbyeI leave, and heave
A sigh and say goodbye
GoodbyeI’m glad to go
I cannot tell a lieI flit, I float
I fleetly flee, I flyThe sun has gone
To bed and so must ISo long, farewell
Auf wiedersehen, goodbyeGoodbye
Goodbye

Sixteen Going on Seventeen – The Sound of Music
You wait, little girl, on an empty stage
For fate to turn the light on
Your life, little girl, is an empty page
That men will want to write on
To write on
You are sixteen going on seventeen
Baby, it´s time to think
Better beware, be canny and careful
Baby, you´re on the brink
You are sixteen going on seventeen
Fellows will fall in line
Eager young lads and rogues and cads
Will offer you food and wine
Totally unprepared are you
To face a world of men
Timid and shy and scared are you
Of things beyond your ken
You need someone older and wiser
Telling you what to do
I am seventeen going on eighteen
I´ll take care of you
I am sixteen going on seventeen
I know that I´m naive
Fellows I meet may tell me I´m sweet
And willingly I believe
I am sixteen going on seventeen
Innocent as a rose
Bachelor dandies, drinkers of brandies
What do I know of those
Totally unprepared am I
To face a world of men
Timid and shy and scared am I
Of things beyond my ken
I need someone older and wiser
Telling me what to do
You are seventeen going on eighteen
I´ll depend on you -
Do-Re-Mi
Song by Julie AndrewsLet’s start at the very beginning
A very good place to start
When you read, you begin with A-B-C
When you sing, you begin with Do-Re-Mi
Do-Re-Mi
Do-Re-Mi
The first three notes just happen to be
Do-Re-Mi
Do-Re-Mi
Do-Re-Mi-Fa-So-La-Ti
Oh, let’s see if I can make it easy
Do, a deer, a female deer
Re, a drop of golden sun
Mi, a name, I call myself
Fa, a long, long way to run
So, a needle pulling thread
La, a note to follow So
Ti, a drink with jam and bread
That will bring us back to Do, oh, oh, oh
Do, a deer, a female deer
Re, a drop of golden sun
Mi, a name, I call myself
Fa, a long, long way to run
So, a needle pulling thread
La, a note to follow So
Ti, a drink with jam and bread
That will bring us back to Do
A deer, a female deer
Re, a drop of golden sun
Mi, a name, I call myself
Fa, a long, long way to run
So, a needle pulling thread
La, a note to follow So
Ti, a drink with jam and bread
That will bring us back to Do
Do-Re-Mi-Fa-So-La-Ti-Do, So-Do
Now, children, Do-Re-Mi-Fa-So and so on
Are only the tools we use to build a song
Once you have these notes in your heads
You can sing a million different tunes by mixing them up
Like this
So, Do, La, Fa, Mi, Do, Re
Can you do that?
So, Do, La, Fa, Mi, Do, Re
So, Do, La, Ti, Do, Re, Do
So, Do, La, Ti, Do, Re, Do
Now put it all together
So, Do, La, Fa, Mi, Do, Re
So, Do, La, Ti, Do, Re, Do
Good
But it doesn’t mean anything
So we put in words
One word for every note
Like this
When you know the notes to sing
You can sing most anything
Together
When you know the notes to sing
You can sing most anything
Do, a deer, a female deer
Re, a drop of golden sun
Mi, a name, I call myself
Fa, a long, long way to run
So, a needle pulling thread
La, a note to follow So
Ti, a drink with jam and bread
That will bring us back to Do
Do, Re, Mi, Fa, So, La, Ti, Do
Do, Ti, La, So, Fa, Mi, Re
Do, Mi, Mi
Mi, So, So
Re, Fa, Fa
La, Ti, Ti
Do, Mi, Mi
Mi, So, So
Re, Fa, Fa
La, Ti, Ti
When you know the notes to sing
You can sing most anything
Do, a deer, a female deer
Re, a drop of golden sun
Mi, a name, I call myself
Fa, a long, long way to run
So, a needle pulling thread
La, a note to follow So
Ti, a drink with jam and bread
That will bring us back to
So (So, Do)
Re (La, Fa)
Mi (Mi, Do)
Fa (Re)
So (So, Do)
La (La, Fa)
Ti (La, So, Fa, Mi, Re)
Ti, Do -
The Nuns – Maria Lyrics
She climbs a tree and scrapes her knee
Her dress has got a tear
She waltzes on her way to Mass
And whistles on the stair
And underneath her wimple
She has curlers in her hair
I even heard her singing in the abbeyShe’s always late for chapel
But her penitence is real
She’s always late for everything
Except for every meal
I hate to have to say it
But I very firmly feel
Maria’s not an asset to the abbeyI’d like to say a word in her behalf
Maria makes me laughHow do you solve a problem like Maria?
How do you catch a cloud and pin it down?
How do you find a word that means Maria?
A flibbertijibbet! A will-o’-the wisp! A clown!Many a thing you know you’d like to tell her
Many a thing she ought to understand
But how do you make her stay
And listen to all you say
How do you keep a wave upon the sandOh, how do you solve a problem like Maria?
How do you hold a moonbeam in your hand? When I’m with her I’m confused
Out of focus and bemused
And I never know exactly where I am
Unpredictable as weather
She’s as flighty as a feather
She’s a darling! She’s a demon! She’s a lamb!She’d outpester any pest
Drive a hornet from its nest
She could throw a whirling dervish out of whirl
She is gentle! She is wild!
She’s a riddle! She’s a child!
She’s a headache! She’s an angel!
She’s a girl! How do you solve a problem like Maria?
How do you catch a cloud and pin it down?
How do you find a word that means Maria?
A flibbertijibbet! A will-o’-the wisp! A clown!Many a thing you know you’d like to tell her
Many a thing she ought to understand
But how do you make her stay
And listen to all you say
How do you keep a wave upon the sandOh, how do you solve a problem like Maria?
How do you hold a moonbeam in your hand? -

My Favorite Things – The Sound Of Music
Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things
Cream-colored ponies and crisp apple strudels
Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings
These are a few of my favorite things
Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes
Silver-white winters that melt into springs
These are a few of my favorite things
When the dog bites
When the bee stings
When I’m feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don’t feel so bad
Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things
Cream-colored ponies and crisp apple strudels
Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings

The Sound Of Music – Julie Andrews
The hills are alive with the sound of music
With songs, they have sung for a thousand years
The hills fill my heart with the sound of music
My heart wants to sing every song it hears
My heart wants to beat like the wings of the birds that rise from the lake to the treesMy heart wants to sigh like the chime that flies from a church on a breeze
To laugh like a brook as it trips and falls over stones on its way
To sing through the night like a lark who is learning to pray
I go to the hills when my heart is lonely
I know I will hear what I’ve heard before
My heart will be blessed with the sound of music
And I’ll sing once moreTo laugh like a brook as it trips and falls over stones on its way
To sing through the night like a lark who is learning to prey
I go to the hills when my heart is lonely
I know I will hear what I’ve heard before
My heart will be blessed with the sound of music
And I’ll sing once more -

These songs are a part of my entire life I hope your mother enjoy the show.
Happy Birthday to her and many happy healthy returns. 🌹✨ I know just a few
days early but hey lets celebrate just because we can. -
Happy Earth Day to you!🌍 I see you are digging into the earth to celebrate. We have rain, we have sun, back and forth all day.🌧🌞 It is quite cooler than the last few days.
Mom has dwindled it down to two restaurants so we are making progress. Today she is on a bus trip to see a stage play of The Sound of Music, dinner, then back home with the AARP friends.😊 Me, I’m doing chores around the house.😕
I am enjoying the playoffs, just too many games each night. Last night I watched a special on National Geographic called Secrets of the Elephants.🐘 So very informative and heartwarming. Part two is on tonight if you are interested. Love all shows about animal life.
Having breakfast for dinner, eggs, pancakes and bacon.🥚🥞🥓 Relax this evening after all your bending over.🤗💖
