Conversation – 18
Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 18 out of the series. I created and started this thread 9 years ago.
I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

So sad to learn that Harry Belafonte passed. May he RIP. This brings up a story. Hubby and I loved Thursday nights. We worked all week and had our own business on the side from Friday through Sunday. So going out on a Thursday was very special. It was an outdoors thing where we picnicked on the grass with a quilt underneath us. We brought all kinds of food and fruit along with soda and tea. During this time we walked along the dandy beach and had our shoes off. The smell of the salt air permeated everything around us. It was really special. This afterall was “Summer Music.” We had both lawn and tent tickets. On one particular night, we arrived very early. We were told to put our blanket down and to leave. So we did. Hubby did not tell me the venue for that night. We literally ran down to the beach and sat among the rocks. And then the music started. “Matilda”. The raspy voice of the singer was none other than Harry Belafonte..I was mesmerized. I had to see the rehearsal. So, quietly, we snuck back and sat at the back corner of the tent. No one noticed us at first. Guess, we were holding hands and swayed to the music. It was ever so magical. The only time we ever saw Harry live. The evening was very special. Hubby and I talked about that evening tonight. The waves from the ocean slapping the rocks below and in time with the music is forever in my memories. What a special evening.
I did go to Lowes. I ended up cancelling the order in it’s entirety. I have been trying to make a couple of changes only to be left on hold for 20 minutes to an hour. I was at the service desk today trying to change the size of the vanity only to be told that I had to return to that department. So I did. The person who waited on me said that could be done with customer service. So I returned. After much debate back and forth I cancelled. I also explained that the person who I hired never returned any of my phone calls or had the decency to say he changed his mind. The salesperson told me to return and to start from scratch. They have people that could do the job and they charge by what has to be done. This was good news to me and to hubby when I told him what happened today. This way we will have an honest measurement and the person doing the job will be with me when selecting the items. I will give Lowes another chance in a few days. Just too much going on.
I agree that hubby is low in sugar and that causes his shakes. It also tells me that he isn’t eating the meals. Today ge was ub bed and half asleep. He said he ate his dinner when I asked. His roommate said otherwise. I stopped at Costco for gas (it was $3.23/gal) and while there parked and went directly to the food court. Purchased three hotdogs and three sodas. Then drove to the rehab which was just about 3 or 4 miles from Costco. The dogs were still hot when I reached the room. I also had fruit for hubby. Two apples (Granny Smith and Honey Crisp) and also red grapes. There is enough food on his table to feed a small army. So glad I was able to do this. Tomorrow I will either do something with veal or with hamburgers. The airfryer is all set to go. However, the counter still needs to be cleaned. Will do so in the morning.
I saw storm clouds in the distance this morning while out and about with appointments. But, the clouds disappeared before I returned home. The weather people are saying be careful what we wish for. Looks like our turn may occur Thursday and could be extremely severe.
Hope you have a great evening. Enjoy the animals. It makes me homesick for our backyard in Ct.. Someday we will return. Just not now. -

Banana Boat
Song by Harry BelafonteDay-o, day-o
Daylight come and we want go home
Day, is a day, is a day, is a day, is a day, is a day-o
Daylight come and we want go home
Work all night on a drink of rum
(Daylight come and we want go home)
Stack banana ’til the morning come
(Daylight come and we want go home)
Come Mister tally man, tally me banana
(Daylight come and we want go home)
Come Mister tally man, tally me banana
(Daylight come and we want go home)
Lift six foot, seven foot, eight foot bunch
(Daylight come and we want go home)
Six foot, seven foot, eight foot bunch
(Daylight come and we want go home)
Day, is a day-o
(Daylight come and we want go home)
Day, is a day, is a day, is a day, is a day, is a day-o
(Daylight come and we want go home)
A beautiful bunch of ripe banana
(Daylight come and we want go home)
Hide the deadly black tarantula
(Daylight come and we want go home)
Lift six foot, seven foot, eight foot bunch
(Daylight come and we want go home)
Six foot, seven foot, eight foot bunch
(Daylight come and we want go home)
Day, is a day-o
(Daylight come and we want go home)
Day, is a day, is a day, is a day, is a day, is a day-o
(Daylight come and we want go home)
Come Mister tally man, tally me banana
(Daylight come and we want go home)
Come Mister tally man, tally me banana
(Daylight come and we want go home)
Day-o, day-o
(Daylight come and we want go home)
Day, is a day, is a day, is a day, is a day, is a day-o

@Sheba….P.S.
I too wish we lived close, I love the Leo personally. I know we would have such wonderful conversations over good coffee and homemade breads. I would enjoy cooking for you lots of Brazilians dishes. But that would mean you could gain a few pounds 😄. Well I would behave in your case, not use to much fatty ingredients. I do cook with Olive oil only though, but I do make herb better and finish off some dishes with that.
Enjoy your evening Sheba 😊 -
@Sheba🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
Hello Sheba, we got rain! It’s been cloudy the entire day. Suddenly it thunder and the rain came. Afterwards we had two visitors, a large dark brown bunny and our regular smaller bunny. The smaller bunny is eating away just about three feet from the patio door 😀
I keep a bottle of JM’s clean boss in the kitchen and one in the bathroom, use it all the time. It’s easy convenient and it works, it cleans glass well too.
I am still doing some Spring cleaning, going thru all kitchen towels. I did that before, but this time I decided to throw away some real old ones. Kept some as cleaning rags. I have brand new ones I kept from when my mom brought back from Brazil. They are so beautiful, vibrant colors, fruit and wine bottles. Flowers and fruits, all kinds of different designs.
I am going into the kitchen now and making me a pizza for dinner, again. I only made half of the dough required stakes about 3 to 4 pizzas.Take care Sheba 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹

Sheba, gorgeous cake, but I’ll have to wash the lick marks off of the computer screen!👅
Beautiful day but very busy. Back and forth, in and out taking care of errands and appointments. And the phone won’t stop ringing today, ugh.📞
Our neighbors have had a grass cutter for many years. Husband talked to her this morning and she is going to cut ours the next couple weeks to see if we are happy. Hubs is getting sick of doing our 1/2 acre. He does have a riding mower but has to go all around with a push mower near the fencing and sloping bank near the road. I guess the arthritis is starting to catch up with him, although he goes to the gym almost every day.🏋️♂️ Life’s too short, get a grass cutter!!
Have a great evening – hugs coming your way.🤗💖

Fog
We can all fall into a fog once in a while, but know it will soon lift and the sun will shine upon you again.
When we feel muddled and unfocused, unsure of which way to turn, we say we are in a fog. Similar to when we are in a fog in nature, we may feel like we can’t see where we’re going or where we’ve come from, and we’re afraid if we move too quickly we might run into something hidden in the mists that seem to surround us. Being in a fog necessarily slows us down by limiting our visibility. The best choice may be to pull over and wait for the murkiness to clear. If we move at all, we must go slowly, feeling our way and keeping our eyes open for shapes emerging from the haze, perhaps relying on the taillights of someone in front of us as we make our way along the road.
By and large, most of us prefer to be able to see where we are going and move steadfastly in that direction, but there are gifts that come from being in a fog. Sometimes it takes an obstacle like fog to get us to stop and be still in the moment, doing nothing. In this moment of involuntary inactivity, we may look within and find that the source of our fogginess is inside us; it could be some emotional issue that needs tending before we can safely go full steam ahead. Being in a fog reminds us that when we cannot see outside ourselves, we can always make progress by looking within. Then again, the fog may simply be teaching us important lessons about how to continue moving forward with extreme caution, harnessing our attention, watching closely for new information, and being ready to stop on a dime.
We cannot predict when a fog will come, nor can we know for certain when it will lift, but we can center ourselves in the haze and wait for guidance. We may find it inside ourselves or in a pair of barely visible taillights just ahead. Whether we follow the lights out of the fog, wait for a gentle breeze to lift it, or allow the sun to burn it away, we can rest certain that one way or another, we will move forward with clarity once again. AMEN! ✨✨
