Conversation – 18
Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 18 out of the series. I created and started this thread 9 years ago.
I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread. ✨😎
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

Hubby started some occupational therapy at the hospital. He was born with a very narrow esophagus and if he takes too big of a bite and swallows he ends up with a coughing fit. That part has continued in Rehab. He also had exercises and physical therapy in the beginning. I had an appointment with Administration soon after he was admitted. They were actually ready to send him home with a catheter and a home health aid. When I asked about the catheter I was told it could stay in for a month without a problem. The visiting nurse would come once a week. The home health aide would be there 4 hours per week. I let it be known at that time that I was not a happy camper. I questioned the many Ifs and one in particular about an infection. Within days, hubby had an infection. Why?? He was trying to ;pull that thing out so he could go to the bathroom on his own. He has had two more since. I also at that time asked for him to be seen by an Urologist. Our first appointment was in April and that was because no one could reach the office until the head nurse was able to see the physician who does only morning rounds. Just recently he again started physical therapy. They are working with him to get in and out of bed by himself and to sit in the wheelchair. Right now he needs to eat more to bring his energy up and to become stronger. He is now too weak to stand without falling over. He also needs to be able to turn over in bed. Today he had no strength to try to sit up in bed. I can tell when he hasn’t had enough food. He shakes all over. He wants to return home so badly that I had to say eat the food. Do not under any circumstances skip a meal. He was doing fine until the knee swelled and then the excruciating pain that came with it. Right now, they kick him out of the room in the afternoon. He either goes to the lanai or sits outside They are trying to get him to socialize more. He will be restarting physical therapy in another week. He will be doing steps this time. We have two 9″ steps and one 6″ leading to the front door and entry into the house. Walking will definitely help to get the kidney and bladder working as they should. At least I hope so.
