I saw a post yesterday from pookie and I replied today. What a nice and concerned person she is. Well, here is an update. I received a voice mail from the orthopedist and we need to make an appointment and to see how hubby fares when talking to the physician. I will be there when that occurs. I do not know at this time whether or not he will be able to have the surgery, but my hope is sky high. With our primary physician on one side and the head nurse/mgr I’m hoping that these two will make it happen. Hubby really needs the surgery to be able to get up and go and do some or most of the things he likes best. Following surgery he will be in the hospital for one or two nights. Physical therapy starts the day after surgery and then will continue after he returns to rehab. The rehab does have the therapy on the premises, but I would feel better if he could go to the one that is part of the orthopedic group. But, I am jumping guns here. First we need another appointment with the orthopedist. Then hopefully, we can get to the next steps.

I am taking Pookie’s advice to find an attorney that handles elder care. Since we are more familiar with the Northeast, I am reaching out to everyone here to get an idea of names, etc.. This is when being part of a community is essential. I will probably need someone who also knows something about real estate. This would help if we ever have hurricane problems again.
I sure hope not. I had enough of that venture with two on a match just weeks apart.

I still have issues with our lanai and today I found someone to take on the task. Yes, there are some issues which the roofer should have done, but, and there is a but. The roofer is two hours away and cannot be here on an e-mail or phone call. I found someone who put an ad up in our clubhouse and he seems to know what needs to be done without me telling him. He saw the probljems and has given me a price and will start work either Saturday or Monday. Finally, there will be no openings for critters. He will also change out one screened door that will also help with this problem. He will definitely power spray the lanai and once dried I will be able to move the rugs and furniture inside. Then I will move on to our den. He said he will help me to
move our loveseat temporarily to a new location so I can do the windows and woodwork. Oh. how wonderful it would be to get everything into place. Finally, the long days journey will be over and done with.

Well, I am again running a bit late. At least I’m dressed and will now get ready to leave. Everyone raves about the hamburgers from Culvers and their fresh custard. The custard is homemade. Hubby will be thrilled with the dessert. I will purchase for the roommate as well.

Accepting Compliments

When we willingly accept compliments, we are reminded that others see us through different eyes.

Many of us find it difficult to accept compliments but easy to believe the slightest criticism. Today, right now, let’s make a choice to fully accept compliments as we would a gift. Sincere compliments are gifts of praise. They are kudos given for wise choices or accomplishments or perhaps for just letting your light shine. There is no reason not to accept the gift of a kind word, but some of us argue against them, even giving reasons why they aren’t true.

If we visualize the energy of a compliment, we would see beautiful, shining, positive energy being sent from the giver. That energy, if accepted graciously, would brighten our personal energy field. Our gratitude then returns to the giver as warm, fuzzy, glowing energy, completing an even circuit of good feelings. But if we reject a compliment, what could have been a beautiful exchange becomes awkward and uncomfortable, making it a negative experience instead. Misplaced modesty can ruin the joy of sharing this connection with another person. But we can accept a compliment and still be modest by simply saying “thank you.” However, if compliments are rejected due to a lack of self-esteem, then the first step would be to start believing good things about yourself. Try giving yourself compliments in the mirror. Beyond the initial feelings of silliness, you will notice how good it feels and can watch the smile it puts on your face. The next step would be to see how it feels to give compliments to others. Notice how great you feel when you’ve made another person’s face brighten and how differently you feel when the gift you’ve offered is rejected. Having experienced all sides, you will be ready to play along fully and willingly.

We are our harshest critics. When we accept compliments, we are reminded that others see us through different eyes. All living beings crave positive attention, and we all deserve to have positive energy shared with us. Perhaps if we happily and gratefully accept compliments, we will give others permission to do so as well. AMEN! 😎✨🌹

Taci cancer and Covid-19 is a lonely journey and one that can only be taken one step at a time.
It is nice to have a nice group to support you I never take anyone for granted. 😎😘

I will know later this week how this demon virus is doing.
