Conversation – 16
Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 16 out of the series. I created and started this thread nearly 7 years
ago. I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread.
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

Let me make something to warm you up. Keep Jake by your side. Poppy is a fast dog.
Poppy sleeps in our room and when I wake up to run to the Master Bath he knows how
to get out of the way. 🤣Cheers 😘

Hanukkah begins Thursday, December 10th at sundown and ends Friday, December 18th at sundown. You could start the thread anytime beginning the week prior or over the weekend. Weather at this time of year is so unpredictable, but, if there is snow on the ground, all the more beautiful.
I started purchasing linens at Costco when a friend mentioned to give them a try. At the time they were having a sale and they were inexpensive. I decided to give it a try and I never looked back. They wash beautifully and even more surprising look brand new. Prior to the purchase, I had to hold my breath that they would not shrink during either the wash or the drying segments. I also had to iron them. These do not shrink and do not need ironing. And, these were the least expensive ones. Also, I think I purchased the down alternative comforter last year and brought it to the Cape. The fabric is absolutely gorgeous and so easy to wash and dry. You know the question prior to the purchase, “Should I buy one or two.” Well, I’m kicking myself today because I have not seen any in the warehouse. I’m going crazy. And, the color I purchased would definitely go with the theme here. I’m kicking myself over that one. 😢🤦♀️
Guess that’s the reason why I haven’t purchased anything as yet.Yes, I did shop today. Purchased just a couple of things. Nothing from Macy’s, though they do have a comforter I am considering. It’s not their $19 one, but rather one that looks so plush and is a favorite color. May do a switch a roo with the one on the Cape.
Hope you had a great day. Stay warm and safe.

Good afternoon in Oz. Chilly and rainy today, cold the next couple days with a winter weather advisory and predicting 3-5″ of snow all day tomorrow. Hate the snow but the Christmas decorations outside will look nice.
Emails are fast and furious today which gets on my nerves. I would rather spend a few dollars more for something instead of everyone trying to zap my brain with deals. I did go out today to pick up a few gift cards.
My velcro dog just like your velcro dog. Mine is big, he might knock me over, yours is small so don’t step on him! Stay warm by the fire with Poppy.

Come Together
In our world, there is always someone in need of our best efforts to rally a group of helpers and healers.
We humans have a knack for coming together and rising up to our potential in the face of a tragedy. Natural disasters and acts of violence bring us out of our small selves and into the world, ready to lend a hand to those in need. This experience is often life-changing for those who are willing to step into the position of helper. We feel as if we are finally doing something really important, and this leads us to feeling more self-actualized. We feel more connected to the people we are helping, as well as more connected to humanity in general. As we expand beyond the boundaries of our individualistic pursuit of happiness there can be a complete reality shift. We often find that it is much easier to be happy when we are motivated in an effort to make the world better in tangible ways, by coming to the rescue of those who are suffering.
Considering the many benefits of this kind of gesture, it is surprising that more of us don’t devote our lives, or at least some portion of our time, to serving people in need. We don’t have to wait for a tragedy to come together, as a community or a nation, and offer ourselves to the world in service. Sometimes it’s easier, of course, to respond to an event that has just happened rather than to ongoing problems like homelessness, poverty, and illness. But the truth of this world is that there is always someone in need of our best efforts to rally a group of helpers and healers. Maybe we feel discouraged because these smaller acts and gestures don’t generate the same kind of energy and attention from other people as heroic acts in the face of immediate disaster, and perhaps an effort to change this is one way to change the world.
The more we promote, applaud, and actively inspire humanitarian efforts in the world, the more others will be drawn to this kind of work. We might pay a little less attention to sports and celebrity gossip and a little more attention to those everyday heroes who devote their lives to alleviating suffering. The more attention we pay, the more we will inspire others and ourselves to be of service in a world that greatly needs our attention. Happy Holidays 😘
