Conversation – 16
Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 16 out of the series. I created and started this thread nearly 7 years
ago. I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread.
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

Sheba, glad all the Dr. appts went well and are over with. Thanks for the tips on all the types of items to check for expiration dates. I noticed HSN had some type of spice holder so I added it to my favorites for now. I will check the details and size later.
Yah, we are back on the stay at home order, glad your niece is ok.
Very Nice Holiday thread! -

Winter Lady
Song by Leonard CohenTraveling lady, stay awhile
Until the night is over
I’m just a station on your way
I know I’m not your lover
Well, I lived with a child of snow
When I was a soldier
And I fought every man for her
Until the nights grew colder
She used to wear her hair like you
Except when she was sleeping
And then she’d weave it on a loom
Of smoke and gold and breathing
And why are you so quiet now
Standing there in the doorway?
You chose your journey long before
You came upon this highway
Traveling lady, stay awhile
Until the night is over
I’m just a station on your way
I know I’m not your lover -

The True Meaning of Christmas (recited by Linus)
Linus’ speech about the true meaning of Christmas is the highlight of A Charlie Brown Christmas. Retrieved from The Bible, King James Version, Book 42 Luke, Chapter 2, verses 8 to 14.
Retrieved from A Charlie Brown Christmas:
“I guess you were right, Linus. I shouldn’t have picked this
little tree,” said Charlie Brown. “Everything I do turns into
a disaster. I guess I don’t really know what Christmas is
all about. Isn’t there anyone who knows what Christmas
is all about?”“Sure, Charlie Brown, I can tell you what Christmas is all about,”
said Linus. [Linus walks to center stage.]“Lights, please.”
And there were in the same country shepherds abiding
in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them,
and the glory of the Lord shone round about them:
and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold,
I bring you good tidings of great joy,
which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour,
which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe
wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the
heavenly host praising God, and saying,Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace,
good will toward men.–Book 42, Luke (002:08-14)
The Bible, King James Version[Linus picks up his blanket and shuffles off-stage.]

Club Sheba Holiday Edition

Glad all went well today. All the big stuff out of the way so now you can enjoy the holidays. Covid increases pretty bad here and I think the governor will be announcing tomorrow closings and/or restrictions again on restaurants, bars, salons, gyms, etc. It could be a lot longer this time if people travel for Christmas.😥
Chilly here also but no sun. Just a gray December day. Jake and I sending hugs back to Oz.

Stop Comparing Yourself to Others
There is nobody else like you in the world and this is worth celebrating, rather than searching for faults.
You are unique. There is no one else like you in the entire universe. In honor of your unique self, it is good to acknowledge and embrace the special qualities that make you the person that you are. One way to do this is to not compare yourself with other people.
It is human nature to want to see how we measure up in comparison to others — especially if we think that they are better than us or have more of something that we want. Yet the truth is that it is not a good use of time to compare ourselves with others because there is no one like us and this makes us incomparable. It is sometimes almost easier to look outside of ourselves and feel like we are deficient in comparison to other people rather than taking responsibility for our own progress in relation to the fulfillment of our life purpose. It actually takes more courage to be self-referential and look at ourselves to see whether we are measuring up to our standards or meeting our full potential. Each of us has very special gifts, and we are here for very specific reasons. We each have a life purpose to fulfill and with this come the lessons that we must learn and the circumstances that we must go through in order to evolve as spiritual beings. To compare our lives to other people’s lives when we have no idea of what they are here to learn or fulfill doesn’t benefit anyone — especially you.
Instead, if we can accept ourselves, appreciate the special talents and qualities that we alone possess, and realize that each of us is going through certain kinds of experiences for a reason, we are less likely focus so much on what other people have or are doing. Realizing and valuing our uniqueness enables us to bring out the best in ourselves so we can get on with living rather than preoccupying ourselves with meaningless comparisons. Try to not compare yourself to others, and you will see how much you have and how special you are. AMEN!
