Conversation – 16
Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 16 out of the series. I created and started this thread nearly 7 years
ago. I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread.
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

Good Afternoon. I am sitting at the computer and freezing. The heat is on, but there is definitely a draft under my feet. I picked up a lap blanket at Costco’s two weeks ago and I am now using it. This thing is huge and would easily blanket a full sized bed. It will do while I go through boxes of papers to sort while I am looking for one item in particular. I remember boxing it, but no can find. I also know that it wasn’t discarded since both of us go through the boxes before breaking them apart for recycle.
The sun is out in Florida and there are many low hanging clouds. Temp is a cool 51 and will hit 60 maybe. Tonight will be in the low 40s and yes, I will be covering some of our outdoor plants.
Even though we do not celebrate Christmas, it is still a Holiday I cherish. Maybe it’s because people talk to one another at this time. Or maybe it’s the warmth one feels during this season. Or maybe it’s the smile from a total stranger. Or still it could be because it’s the season for giving and receiving. Whatever the reason I often ponder why we cannot bring this joviality to everyone all year long. I remarked to my hubby last night that this pandemic thing made me realize that we don’t have to go anywhere to be together. Home is definitely where the heart is, whether it’s Florida or New England. And, what is even more remarkable, I’m not bored. There is always something new to see from our den window and plenty of work to do inside. Guess when you start thinking about it, the pandemic has brought more of us together. At least that’s one of it’s brighter sides.
Looks like whatever is wrong with my computer has wrought some wrongs onto yours’ and Loaf’s. I could be typing away and all of a sudden the cable and wireless goes out for no reason. Or, I crash for no reason. That was why I bought another computer, which will be returned soon. I will be ordering another which just has a smaller monitor, but is not only has a better processor, but good customer service and is five stars across the board. Should have waited for reviews on the one I purchased. There are quite a few now with nothing above a two star. Yes, customer reviews do help. Patience is supposedly a sign of virtue. I guess I lost mine somewhere.
The doggie gifs are amazing. I wouldn’t mind enjoying their company every day of the week. Even kitties. Yes, I will see you in Trivia tonight. Just not sure if there is a game tonight and if not, so be it. We could actually have our own game of fun. And if there is a game, maybe do our own thing in between the wait time.
Have a great day, both of you along with the entire family. I bet Bella is enjoying it also. Wonder if you will see her during face time. See you soon.

Giving Without Expectations
It is in the act of giving that we find joy, without the expectation of anything in return.
Since giving and receiving are so intimately intertwined in our lives, we often expect that we can attract abundance by simply conducting ourselves in an openhanded fashion. Yet we find ourselves wallowing in disappointment when our ample generosity is not met with the expected results. The answer to this quandary lies in the expectations that, in part, initially prompted us to give. Though our intention is likely pure, we can unintentionally mar the beautiful experience of giving by focusing on what we will eventually receive in return. When we let go of the notion that we deserve to receive gifts based on giving gifts, bounty can once again flow freely in and out of our lives.
When the gifts you give are laden down with expectations, they cease to be gifts and become units of exchange that you are, in effect, trading for some reward. Thus, the reciprocal laws of the universe err on the side of the giver who shares for the sake of sharing. You may have seen this simple truth at work in your own experience, perhaps when life’s busyness prevented you from spending too much time contemplating the results your charitable actions would ultimately have on the lives of others. It was likely then that you received the greatest gifts in return for your kindness. If you have trouble divesting yourself of your expectations, you may need to reflect upon the root of your inability to act in the true spirit of giving. Each time you make a gift, whether spiritual or tangible, ask yourself if there is something you hope to receive in return. You may be surprised to discover that you expect to be repaid with an easy life, financial windfalls, or opportunities.
To integrate this most selfless form of generosity into your life, you will have to let go of your need to be in control. Accepting that while like inevitably attracts like, it typically does so on an unobservable timetable. This can help you stop weighing the gifts you give against those you have received. Giving eventually becomes a profound joy that stands alone, separate from any and all conditions, and you will learn to appreciate the flow of reciprocal abundance as a gift in and of itself. Merry Christmas to all in the HSN Community. 😘
