Sheba, please let me know how your labs were. I know this is scary for you, especially with what you have been through in the past month and a half. I feel you will be OK. Just take it easy and think good thoughts.

Yesterday we had a phone call from the Visiting Nurse. She would be here today in the am to do the discharge paperwork. That felt awfully good. Then there was a survey in my e-mail for hubby to do on-line for the Orthopedic group. When I asked how the appointment went he seemed happy with this group. But the survey helped him to define areas that were not even mentioned during the visit. This included physical therapy and medication for pain. I phoned our physician yesterday and spoke with his medical assistant. Unfortunately our physician is on vacation until a week from Monday. She thought he should check first with his Orthopedist and if there isn’t anything then to call back and he could talk to one of the other physicians in their office. Hubby refuses to make the call. We were supposed to go out today, he couldn’t move with his cane or with the walker.

The only thing I accomplished was planting three cacti into planters. Tomorrow I will cut back the stems and repot with more soil. We have an area on the other side of our driveway that is all stone and the pots will be put there. However, when the time comes for us to leave and head North they will be placed against the lanai in hopes that the wind during a hurricane will not take them and do damage elsewhere. I wish they could be left in the lanai, but, rain hardly ever gets in there. Then again, I can have them planted somewhere in the yard.

I do believe you are really stressed out and that is the cause of your headache. At least partly the cause. Sinuses can be added into this equation. Drinking a great deal of coffee doesn’t help. Having a smoothie, or something without caffeine is better. I know losing your BIL didn’t help either. Do take time to smell the roses. Go slow. Go easy. Something you probably didn’t realize with Cancer is that you can be absolutely free from a lot of pain through medication, but a few days prior the pain is intense and does affect every area of the body. I do not think your BIL felt anything. He was made very comfortable until the end, just like your dad. In a sense the hospital became his hospice care. I am sure your SIL is feeling as bad as the both of you. Thank goodness there is family around to help with everything along with your nieces. Someday he will show them and you that he is OK, if he hasn’t done so already. Take care of yourself and hubby. Take each day as it comes. You both are in my prayers for good health and many good tomorrows.

Thank you for taking the time to tell me about your Ninja. I actually was looking for something more portable to use when heading North. Most of the time the only outlet that is reachable in a Hotel/Motel room is at the sink area. However, I liked the idea that the nutribullet could be used in the car or anywhere for that matter. Our physician has specified that we should take food on our long trips or an energy bar. Eating fruit in the car sometimes makes our hands sticky and that’s not a good idea on the steering wheel. A smoothie sounded even better. I decided to check the up coming special on the Nurtribullet. Ok you received one Nutribullet and one drinkable cup with cap at more $$. But, what I really wanted to know is what the people thought of this unit. What I found is that it doesn’t do half of what the hype tells you. Doing fresh or frozen poses a problem in that the blades are not sharp enough nor is the wattage enough to turn the cut up fruit or veggies or both into a smoothie. Using small ice cubes may be OK. But what it can do is turn a packet into a smoothie with ice and water. In most cases it stopped working soon after purchase. I would have enjoyed this on road trips. Oh yes, it comes with the USB cable. I forgot how long that cord is. However, they do not include the plug ins for an outlet or for the car. You would expect that at that price everything would be included especially since it is a Today’s Special. Yes I purchased Jabbin Jack. Thank goodness for my Kindles and the GPS for the van, that I have what is needed. However, on the pumpkin, I actually needed another USB since the port that came with the unit didn’t fit Jack.
However, the one I used for Kindle did fit. It took over a half hour for me to realize that and returning would have been out of the question. It was on your own. By the way, the Ninja has a portable unit and the wattage is higher. Amazon has one. However, Black Friday is just a little over a month away unless someone does a sale prior.

I wanted to mention that if you are going to Disney there is a sale for those who live in Florida and it also includes Seniors. It is a yearly pass and there are different price points. You may need to go into the Disney web site to see it. There may be a Black Friday deal as well. I’m not sure at this point if we will be able to take advantage of the deal. Hubby’s knee is really bothersome and he cannot walk far even when using either the walker or cane. I’m not sure if Disney has a cart he can use, though right now I am looking for an electric bike that folds and is easy to carry. This would be something we could take on a ship or even when we are out and about. I will just have to check how long it takes to recharge and, hopefully, it uses a regular outlet.
