The waves will come and just let it happen. Get it out of your system. A certain recording or a movie or a forgotten gift can make you tear for no reason. Don’t be bashful and don’t be ashamed it is a normal process that we all go through. Even now, years later, if someone mentions they knew my parents way back when and the way my dad used to smile, will bring tears to my eyes. The hurt doesn’t really end, it just becomes more tolerable with each passing day.

Yes, we went shopping. Returned to our Farmer’s Market where I picked up Amish pumpenickel bread. The rye bread from last week is almost gone and the taste was like being in New York at our favorite deli. The Amish make a wholesome chicken salad with cranberries and walnuts. And I always thought the market in New England was the best. I have tried several times to make the salad, though OK, just something missing in the flavor. And, they use very little mayo. Sometimes I wonder if the family that owns the Farmer’s Markets are from either Pa. or Ohio. The prices are about the same as the market we frequent in Lancaster, Pa. on the return trip North. I really wanted to purchase the Dragon Fruit, but at $4.99/lb decided to pass. I will mention this fruit to shoelady because it is easy to swallow and may help her husband’s immune system. along with blueberries, and others.

Yes, we both wear our masks whenever we leave the house. Just before we left to shop, I went into some news on line and it is really scary. Seems the UK is in total lockdown and when venturing out, people must wear gloves, practice social distancing and keep their hands cleaned. Well, for some reason the epidemic is not even under control and they have no idea why. I wonder if their Public Works Dept are keeping the streets and sidewalks cleaned as well as doing some spraying. No mention of that being done. This is just an observation on my part.

Now I need to do some work around here, like put the food away. Take care and stay safe. That goes for Both of you and the kids including Poppy.

Shifting into Gratitude

The question of whether we or anyone else deserves something is not really in our jurisdiction.

We all know what it’s like to finally get something we want, only to find ourselves feeling as if we don’t deserve it. Whether it’s a car, a new job, or a date with someone wonderful, we suddenly feel as if we are not up to it. Something in us wants to reject this gift from the universe, perhaps because it requires that we think of ourselves in a new way or makes us question why we should have something that others don’t have. If these feelings of unworthiness are not consciously acknowledged, they can lead us to sabotage ourselves out of the gift being offered. Perhaps the best way to avoid rejection and sabotage is to simply shift into a state of gratitude, bypassing the question of worthiness altogether.

The question of whether we or anyone else deserves something is not really in our jurisdiction. These themes play themselves out in ways we can’t fully comprehend–on the level of the soul, over the course of many lifetimes. What we do know is that the universe has its own way of shifting the balance over the course of time so that all things are ultimately fair. We can trust in this process and understand that when a gift comes our way, it is because we are meant to have it. Otherwise, it would not be available to us. Accepting the gift with gratitude and using it to the best of our ability is true humility.

When we receive a gift and find that feelings of unworthiness crop up, we can simply acknowledge the feelings and then remind ourselves that they are beside the point. We might say to ourselves, “I am meant to have this.” As we allow ourselves to accept the gift, we might feel tenderness in our hearts that naturally shifts into a deep feeling of gratitude. As we sit for a moment, consciously holding the gift in our hands or in our hearts, we say “yes” to the universe’s many blessings, and we also say “thank you.”

Good Morning in S. California. 😎I remember when you got some Sporto Boots here on
HSN. I am glad you had some rain pretty sure your area needed it.

Taci my dad gave me a box of his CD’s a couple of years ago and I listen to a lot
of the music he gave me. Most of the music I do on this thread is something my
dad loved. I am referring to the ole school music which I think is better than what we
have now. I enjoy the older songs and can relate to a lot of it. 🤣 I also like to kick it
into high gear with a little new music that is getting hard to find. 😎

I hope you mother gets settled into a good and safe place. How is she doing so far?

Taci if you get out today enjoy the view. I took Poppy to the corner and back we were
cold and it was getting slippery I took my time walking back home. 😘😎

There will be a Twilight Zone Marathon during New Year’s Eve and Day on the Sci-Fi
Channel.
