Conversation – 16
Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 16 out of the series. I created and started this thread nearly 7 years
ago. I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread.
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

Amy, the vaccines are now through a lottery. As long as you have an appointment, there should not be any problems. Just make sure that you are fine following. Some people do get a reaction and if you do please contact your physician. Also do not forget to complete the paperwork that you will need to bring with you. Also your ID. I think a driver’s license will do, but check before hand. Passports are the best form of ID.
Welcome back. I missed your posts. Happy, Healthy New Year. Stay safe.

I thought you might be under the weather when you hadn’t post. Ok, Dr. Oodie is in. Not only are bad headaches due to sinus and venturing out in the cold, but it sometimes comes with menopause. There are foods to stay away from temporarily. These could include chocolate, tomatoes, and onions to name a few. You can check on line just to be sure. Your gynecologist may be helpful as well.
There is Dragon Fruit in Florida because of farmers in the area. You really need a warm to hot area because it is a cactus plant. We do see it here but it is definitely cost prohibitive at $4.99/lb. I am actually looking for the plant and will do something here with it. Have a small yard, yet many spots where it can be happily grown.
As far as cleaning goes, I am doing a little each day. Still going through papers, but only do it at the end of day. I do need to purchase some plastic containers that I can label and stick on a shelf in a closet. I would file it, but two drawers in the cabinet can only hold so much. For now, I have elastic bands around them with one of those note things on them so I know what it is. For that item I will go to BJs. They usually have four or more in a package (different sizes as well). I am an organization freak. Hubby loves using shoeboxes, but nothing is labeled. YUk!
Take care of yourself and hubby. Give an extra pet to Poppy.

Oodie, thanks for the Covid advice and for being so welcoming to the game thread of yours.
I am enjoying the games as a distraction. Will drop in and say hi when I am playing. 🙂 -
@Sheba, Sorry you had a headache.
Worried, I’ll say. I am going to leave for AZ, still deciding if I should drive, or fly. Plus I am waiting to find out if they will even let me visit as she still has the quarantine week or so left. I am scared of covid also. AZ numbers are way up and all medical is short staffed, plus covid adds fees and such. I may not be online for a while while I sort out many details (once I go).
One of my old friends from the midwest said she had a milder case of covid, her sister had it and never knew it. These two were very lucky.Nice to see Bichon back.

Evenings
Evenings can be a wonderful time to reconnect with loved ones over dinner and share in gratitude for your day.
From the beginning of time, a richly colored twinge of dusk touching the eastern horizon, the lengthening of shadows, and the appearance of the evening’s first star have let us know that it was time to rest, relax, and retire from the pressures of the day. For human beings and other living things that tend to be most active in daylight, evenings can be less hectic and more relaxing, as we prepare for sleep and spend quality time with our loved ones. But evenings are about much more than dinner and the feel of a cool, soft pillow. Evenings are a wonderful time to catalog the events of the day without distraction, to revel in gentle solitude or silence, to end the day in serenity, and to commune with your inner self.
There are many ways to turn the evening into a nurturing and soul enriching experience. A simple stroll through the realms of dusk and darkness can show you two different worlds: one winding down and one just coming to life. In the evening, the sounds we humans make begin to diminish, and the sounds of earth’s more nocturnal creatures and nature itself become more apparent. As night slowly falls, scents change, and the smell of the soil and greenery become magnified. Sky gazing in the evenings can be a meditative activity — one that reminds us that we are only one part of an infinitely complex and vast universe. Each night, the different phases of the moon show us the passage of time and the waxing and waning of life, as its glowing visage — whether in the shape of a circle, crescent, or a smile — bathes the world in an ethereal, wistful glow.
As crickets chirp and night birds cry out, evening rituals and routines can make your day feel complete, help you unwind from the day’s busyness, and pave the way for rejuvenating sleep. Rituals and routines help you say goodnight to the present day, so you can look forward to the next one. While the sun sets, try doing a series of stretches, lighting some candles, or watching the daylight fade. The soothing, natural beauty of each evening can be your backdrop, as you meditate, quiet your soul, and relax into the peace and stillness that can be found at day’s end.
