Conversation – 16
Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 16 out of the series. I created and started this thread nearly 7 years
ago. I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread.
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

Good Morning. It’s just a tad past midnight. I am fine. I just never felt so tired and had to leave the computer. I fell asleep almost as soon as my head touched the pillow and slept straight through to around noon. I am fine, though have a back ache because of a weather change for Wednesday. Guess tomorrow will begin the changeover. Once that comes through, I will be fine.
I do not want to alarm you, but if you do not feel better by tomorrow, I would definitely contact the doctor. Upset stomach is one of those signs of Covid. I had the nausea during the Covid while on the cruise. Hubby thought I was seasick, but we were on calm seas and besides it was 24 hours later. Pepto kept my sanity. However, just to be on the safe side, I would definitely get tested. I also drank tea with lemon, also with ginger. Coffee for some reason turned my stomach. Soup was always on the menu. Luckily I didn’t have to cook for two weeks. Anyway, keep me posted.
On the Covid vaccine. Florida now has a few numbers. You call in and join a lottery. They will contact you for an appointment. Also, Johnson and Johnson as well as AstraZeneca are coming out with a vaccine sometime between February and March. These will not require refrigeration and therefore other places such as Walgrens and CVS will be able to give the shot. I also read where it may require just one shot. I probably will gravitate towards either of those, but since hubby wants to return North ASAP, I will join the lottery tomorrow. This way we should be done sometime in February and on our way shortly thereafter. Returning earlier means the weather will be cooler and therefore we will be ab;e to bring our own food so we can avoid looking for either take out or restaurants in the area. In all honesty, I would rather stay here especially with the new offshoots that get you even if you are careful.

Hi Amy,
Glad everything worked out for you. Was a bit concerned. I am hearing that Johnson & Johnson along with Astra Zeneca are coming out with theirs between February and March. However, we will probably sign up for the lottery tomorrow. Hubby wants to head North ASAP. Because of Covid, we decided to remain in Florida through the summer. Summer was no different than being on Cape Cod. Both areas are hot and humid. However, no a/c in that house except in the MB. The bad news there is that we will not be returning to Florida until everything is back to normal. Not sure how clean the hotel rooms will be on heading North, but will carry what we need to keep us safe.

Hi Sheba;
Oh, that Key Lime pie was just what was needed
Okay, we did it. We left the house at 6:15 to drive to Boca to a large park. Got there before seven. Home by 10. Not terrible. I had been awake since 1 am and got up at 3:30 so I could have coffee and relieve myself before leaving the house. Arm was a little sore and so worth it.
We go back on February 7th for second round. I am told I may not feel great after for a day or so.
Step one. Done. Shot in arm.How is everyone in your house. I briefly saw something about Bella the doggie and look for what is happening.
I hope you are all well. Cannot stop thinking of Kittengirl.
Tomorrow, I play gold in a Play for Pink tournament. Yes, I will be wearing my Heidi Breast Cancer Awareness Jewels. Instead of a luncheon; we will get boxed lunches. I hope to laugh a lot and not all of it at myself.
Ladies, stay safe, wear masks. I have no plans to venture anywhere this week. I don’t venture anywhere most of the time. A little tumultuous these days. Ari and Chloe will be in touch with Poppy and all the furbabies on this thread.

Just read about Belle. Have a feeling your daughter feels worse than the pooch. I think Belle will be fine. She is still a puppy and the legs should heal in no time. Keep me posted.
Also read about your SIL. Sounds like she has a mild case. Remember to tell her not to push herself on the good days. If there is anything I can do to help her and you through this, please do not hesitate to ask. Though both of us had Covid at the same time, I am now concerned with the new offshoot. Not sure if we have enough antibodies to counteract it. Also seems that wearing a mask is sometimes not helpful. Going to curtail the shopping at the market.

I had just signed into HSN, took a look at the Alerts and then went to your thread. I wrote a splurb, and then when I went to check on it, it was no where to be seen. Looked above and it asked me to sign in, which I did thinking that i would find my reply at the bottom of the page. No, it was no where to be seen. So here I sit to say Hi, once again.
I want to apologize for signing off the way I did. I have no recollection of ever being so exhausted. My usual habits have always been late to bed and early to rise. Guess, everything caught up with me. We did go marketing on Saturday. But, it was late in the day when we got started. Consequently, the shelves in Aldi’s were emptied. Their veggies looked bleak. But, we did find some things that were sorely needed like milk, eggs, and bread. Then we headed for the Farmer’s market. Traffic was with us as the hour was close to dinner time. The parking lot was full, but we managed to find a good spot. Traffic coming in was bumper to bumper in both directions. It was close to 6 pm. We finally made it to the Market. There was supposed to be a deal on strawberries, but instead there was a letter of apology stating that the price was higher because of the cold weather in Florida. However, the grapes looked good. They said it was the end of season. My hubby picked up two packages at $.99/lb. I did find Dragon Fruit and wished you were here or there was a way to send it to you. It’s sitting on my counter as I type. Another thing we needed was bread. Went to the bakery area and found something called Forest Seeded Rye. The entire bakery area is homemade from scratch by the Amish. I surmise they are in the bakery in the wee hours of the morning. Ok, I have to admit now that I love the NY breads, especially the water bagels and their rye. I tried the rye when we arrived home. My eyes lit up. It was the closest we have come to the NY Rye. So delicious. And we even have the pickles to go with it. But, unfortunately no corned beef. Guess the chicken salad will have to do.
Minus an awful backache, I do feel better. Weather is changing again. By Wednesday we will have the beginnings of a warmer trend with temps in the 70s, though the night will be a cool down to the low 50s. Today was cool and tonight mid 40s with clear skies.
No, I didn’t clean house or do any laundry over the weekend. Tomorrow is another day and if the back is good to go, will tackle the next thing. Take care of yourself. Dress warm and make sure Poppy is all set as well. Have a great walk, and stay safe.
Oh, before I forget. The shopping channel in Canada is similar to HSN. Some of our hosts go there occasionally to work as well as many of our vendors. I wouldn’t worry about the vendors giving up HSN unless it is to try another channel in the USA. I will say that some of their items are absolutely gorgeous. Quite different from what we are offered. Bad news, I don’t think we can purchase from them since our currency is different. If Josie reads this, she can check out that channel. They are on line.
