I left a note for Taci. How she wanted to see her mom weeks ago and thought the time wasn’t right because of Covid. I think if I had known she was under Hospice care earlier, the decision would have been somewhat easier. I’m happy she made the trip safely and can handle whatever has to be done from this point on.

I am well rested and the work begins tomorrow. I really do not want to leave the house in the shape it’s in. Looks like we will leave here the end of February so we can empty the house in Ct. and move on to the Cape. Not a happy camper with this decision. Our name is in for the lottery. We will wait about three weeks following the second vaccine and then check on the weather. Will keep you posted.

I just read your post from yesterday. So sorry to hear your mom had past, especially when you were on the way to see her. I just have a feeling that she didn’t want you to see her not well. Please, whatever you do, don’t feel you should have gone sooner. There are times when family members know that their child is on their way, and leave for a better place. Sometimes saying goodbye is not their thing. Whatever you do, do not feel guilty. The world is so different now that seeing loved ones is almost impossible. I’m glad you made the trip. Stay for the funeral and return home when you can. I agree on the airline, but if that’s the route you need to take, just check with the airline on the protocols. I think all you will need is a negative test result within a certain amount of hours/days prior to your trip. Hugs to you. Guess it has to be virtual until this disease passes.

I haven’t done much today other than a little cleaning and watching the inauguration. Enough leftovers for dinner. Husband feeling good and ran to Sam’s for me. Thank you for the beautiful flowers, they are always welcome.🌷🌹💐

Knowing When to Let Someone Go

Knowing when to end a relationship and acknowledging that the pain will pass can often prevent greater pain in the long run.

Just as a good relationship can have a positive impact on your life, stressful, draining, or imbalanced relationships can have negative effects on your health and well-being. It’s common to maintain a relationship because we feel the other person needs us or we believe that they will eventually change. We may also be afraid of hurting the other person or feel insecure in our ability to find new relationships. But knowing when to end a relationship and acknowledging that the pain will pass can often prevent greater pain and feelings of loss in the long run.

If you’re in a relationship that isn’t satisfying or one that has become unhealthy for you, rather than spending energy attempting to fix the problem or complaining, ask yourself what you really want from the relationship. Consider whether the other person truly considers your feelings or if they are willing to change their behavior. Ask yourself if you’ve often thought about ending the relationship or if you feel your bonds have atrophied. While every relationship has ups and downs, when there are more downs than ups or the two of you are bringing out the worst in each other, it may be time to sever the connection. Be honest with yourself and your answers, even if the truth is painful.

Relationships thrive on honesty, communication, mutual caring, and time spent together. When one or more of these elements are missing, it may be that the relationship, no matter how passionate, simply isn’t worth it. It’s far better to end a relationship that doesn’t feel right than to hold on to it and languish in feelings of anger or resentment. Moving on without struggle, on the other hand, can be the door that leads you to a more nurturing relationship in the future. AMEN!
