On one hand I cannot wait to see the homes in Ct and on the Cape. On the other, I am really enjoying Florida. I certainly will miss the fresh vegetables and fruit and the people who are very helpful at the Farmer’s Market. I actually do comparison shopping between our homes in New England and Florida and just wish I could bring the stores back with me. Like you also, I am waiting to see how others do with the vaccines. I like the one with one shot and may do the Johnson and Johnson. That one will come out sometime next month. I also was able to read the side effects on the Johnson and Johnson and it seems doable. The other thing I like is that it can be given at a pharmacy and other places since it does need the refrigeration at the lower end of the spectrum like the other two. But, that also will be a wait and see.

To say that I am scared in leaving Florida is an understatement. Not sure if I am truly ready to stay at a hotel/motel anytime soon. I still cannot believe that the two of us actually lived through this without medication. All we had was Manuka and our vitamins along with sinus meds. The one thing I worried about was dehydration. How I was able to go to the Lido deck for hot tea every night as sick as I was, is one question I cannot answer. I had to beg and pull my husband out of bed every night just to make him walk half way down the aisle from our stateroom is beyond me. All I know is that I knew he had a fever and pneumonia. Not sure if I had the same. We didn’t know that sleeping on our stomachs was a good thing. It was just the most comfortable position. Having the balcony off our room was a godsend, though we really could not enjoy anything, but knew it was right. I really had to beg my husband to get out of bed for one meal at least. But, the mention of soup was the one thing that did get him from bed to t he Lido deck. Back then we didn’t have masks. Actually, there were none to be found and if you did find one they were over priced. And the after affects. Tell your SIL to take one day at a time. Hopefully, she will not have any challenges like we did. Hubby’s dementia is better. I can now relax a bit. He is more aware now. He can again do math in his head and come out with the correct answer. Calculator, good bye for now. I still have a long road, but it is shorter.

Trivia was fun tonight. I do look forward to it week after week. A lot of laughter which we all need to get through the week. “Sound of Music” was loud and strong tonight. Well, on that note, I think I will call it a night. Stay safe.

Very happy your SIL is getting better. I know how I felt the first day my husband said he felt better.😁 He went for a chest x-ray today. PCP said it looked good although there is some evidence of covid pneumonia. She said she will order a follow-up x-ray after she sees him next week but he is definitely getting up the ladder a little each day.

I read today that Mr. Mahomes will be playing Sunday.👍 So glad to hear that but his team better be protecting him the whole time and I hope he doesn’t run too much. I will be rooting right along with you.

Going to watch some hockey tonight.🏒 Maybe I can actually enjoy a game without worrying about every cough/sneeze that comes out of my husband, lol!😊 Enjoy the evening, stay warm, give hubby and Poppy some hugs and kisses.💕

Everything is Relative

Fully experiencing our own hurt is the gateway to compassion toward other human beings.

Every day we hear stories of personal suffering and loss that far exceed our own. When we compare our situations to those of people living in war-torn countries or those who have lost their homes and livelihoods to natural disasters, it is tempting to minimize our own experiences of suffering. We may feel that we don’t have a right to be upset about the breakup of a relationship, for example, because at least we have food to eat and a roof over our heads.

While awareness of the pain of others in the world can be a valuable way to keep our own struggles in perspective, it is not a legitimate reason to disregard our own pain. Disparaging your feelings as being less important than other people’s emotions leads to denial and repression. Over time, an unwillingness to experience your own feelings leads to numbness. It is as if our internal systems become clogged with our unexpressed emotions. This in no way helps other people who are suffering in the world. In fact, it may do just the opposite because when we devalue our own sorrow, we become impervious to the sorrow in others.

Fully experiencing our own hurt is the gateway to compassion toward other human beings. Feelings of loss, abandonment, loneliness, and fear are universal, and, in that sense, all feelings are created equal. Regardless of what leads us to feel the way we do, our comprehension of what it means to be human is deepened by our own experiences. Our personal lives provide us with the material we need to become fully conscious. If we reject our emotions because we think our experiences are not dramatic or important enough, we are missing out on our own humanity. We honor and value the human condition when we fully inhabit our bodies so we can experience and feel life fully. Accepting our emotions and allowing ourselves to feel them connects us to all human beings. Then, when we hear the stories of other people’s suffering, our hearts can resonate with understanding and compassion — for all of us. AMEN!

Good afternoon in the ‘burgh. 😘💕SIL is getting better and she did tell me she cannot
get the vaccination for 90 days after having Covid-19. No State has enough for both of
the vaccines each person needs. I want this to be over no I am not whining but there are
a lot of people who really needs this to happen and soon.

Lady I do hope you are able to visit your mother and sister. Give Jake a nice hug from OZ.
