Conversation – 16
Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 16 out of the series. I created and started this thread nearly 7 years
ago. I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread.
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

A Change Is Gonna Come
Song by Sam CookI was born by the river, in a little tent
Oh, and just like the river
I’ve been running ever since
It’s been a long
A long time coming
But I know a change gonna come
Oh, yes it will
It’s been too hard living
But I’m afraid to die
‘Cause I don’t know what’s up there
Beyond the sky
It’s been a long
A long time coming
But I know a change gonna come
Oh, yes it will
I go to the movie
And I go downtown
Somebody keep telling me
Don’t hang around
It’s been a long
A long time coming
But I know, a change gonna come
Oh, yes it will
Then I go to my brother
And I say, brother, help me please
But he winds up, knockin’ me
Back down on my knees
Oh, there been times that I thought
I couldn’t last for long
But now I think I’m able, to carry on
It’s been a long
A long time coming
But I know a change gonna come
Oh, yes it will -
Heart of Glass
Song by BlondieOnce I had a love and it was a gas
Soon turned out had a heart of glass
Seemed like the real thing, only to find
Mucho mistrust, love’s gone behind
Once I had a love and it was divine
Soon found out I was losing my mind
It seemed like the real thing but I was so blind
Mucho mistrust, love’s gone behind
In between
What I find is pleasing and I’m feeling fine
Love is so confusing, there’s no peace of mind
If I fear I’m losing you it’s just no good
You teasing like you do
Once I had a love and it was a gas
Soon turned out had a heart of glass
Seemed like the real thing, only to find
Mucho mistrust, love’s gone behind
Lost inside
Adorable illusion and I cannot hide
I’m the one you’re using, please don’t push me aside
We coulda made it cruising, yeah
La, da, da, la, la, la, la, la, la, la
La, da, da, la, la, la, la, la, la, la
La, da, da, la, la, la, la, la, la, la
Yeah, riding high on love’s true bluish light
Ooh, oh, ooh, oh
Ooh, oh, ooh, oh
Once I had a love and it was a gas
Soon turned out to be a pain in the
Seemed like the real thing only to find
Mucho mistrust, love’s gone behind
Ooh, oh, ooh, oh
Ooh, oh, ooh, oh -

We Got the Beat
Song by The Go-Go’sSee the people walking down the street
Fall in line just watching all their feet
They don’t know where they want to go
But they’re walking in time
They got the beat
They got the beat
They got the beat
Yeah, they got the beat
All the kids just getting out of school
They can’t wait to hang out and be cool
Hang around ’til quarter after twelve
That’s when they fall in line
They got the beat
They got the beat
Kids got the beat
Yeah, kids got the beat
Go-go music really makes us dance
Doing the pony puts us in a trance
The Watusi, just give us a chance
That’s when we fall in line
‘Cause we got the beat
We got the beat
We got the beat
Yeah, we got it!
We got the beat
We got the beat
We got the beat
Everybody get on your feet
We got the beat
We know you can dance to the beat
We got the beat
Jump back, get down
We got the beat
Round and round and round
We got the beat
We got the beat
We got the beat
We got the beat
We got the beat
We got the beat
We got the beat
We got the beat
We got the beat
We got the beat
We got the beat -

I think I may have posted that my cousin now has Covid-19 we are close and her
brothers my cousin also daughter and two kids have it also. This is in TENN. My
nerves are raw and I am tired.I am trying to dodge this thing by being safe I don’t know what to do. I worry about my
79 year old mother all of my siblings are keeping her under lock and key so to speak.I wish we had better things to talk about I miss live theater even the Movie houses are
missed and don’t get me started on the ambience of being in a restaurant fully served
and have a great conversation with friends and family. If this is our new normal it stinks. My beautiful 14 year old niece is still in the hospital. I just hope she gets better. 😘😘💕
She is a high school freshmen in Colorado and never have set foot in her new school.
I will be on the phone checking on everyone. I am so sorry about the young man who
passed in your area. So much is happening. -
Prayers for your family,🙏 this is just so upsetting. I guess it affects me deeper since my husband had it. I can’t even watch the news without crying. See my post to Sheba about the man in our area. That’s what I was afraid of a month ago with us.
Make some soup, drink some tea or cocoa, get a blanket and cuddle up with hubby to stay warm. We are in the 20’s with wind – that should make you feel warmer, lol!🤣

Love, love, love Poppy’s jacket, it is adorable!💗🥰 Jake is now jealous. He is getting groomed next week also. Get some of that hair washed and brushed out of him so it’s not all over my floors. He has a spa day about every 6-8 weeks.
We are also in the 20’s with lake effect snow showers.❄ Feels very cold with the wind.🥶 A little warmer by Sunday but we may have a “snow storm.” No predictions as of yet.
So happy to hear your SIL is doing well. So many sad articles in our paper. A 47 year old male who was very active in the community passed from covid. He went into the hospital on December 7 and that was the last time his wife saw him before he died a few days ago. Just breaks my heart. That new variant in South Africa is very scary, ugh.😮 When will this end? Wishing your niece a good outcome.🌹
I will be spending my evening on the computer looking for a jacket for Jake so he and Poppy can rule the neighborhood together!🐶🐾👑

Good evening Sheba;
Poppy is gorgeous. What an Adogable little man he is! They go straight into our souls. Ari and Chloe were so happy to see him in person.
How are you doing? This has been some stressful period for you. I know you take care of yourself and Poppy takes care of you and you take care of everyone including all of us.
This is a short one tonight. Jerry just had me editing his thank you note to Wolf. I wish there was some way to send you the birthday video.
Stay safe;
Amy.

Releasing Your Expectations
The further you distance yourself from your expectations, the more exhilarating your life will become.
As we endeavor to find personal fulfillment and realize our individual ideals, we naturally form emotional attachments to those outcomes we hope will come to pass. These expectations can serve as a source of stability, allowing us to draft plans based on our visions of the future, but they can also limit our potential for happiness by blinding us to equally satisfying yet unexpected outcomes. Instead of taking pleasure in the surprising circumstances unfolding around us, we mourn for the anticipation left unfulfilled. When we think of letting go of our expectations, we may find ourselves at the mercy of a small inner voice that admonishes us to strive for specific goals, even if they continually elude us. However, the opposite of expectation is not pessimism. We can retain our optimism and free ourselves from the need to focus on specific probabilities by opening our hearts and minds to a wide variety of possible outcomes.
When we expect a situation, event, or confrontation to unfold in a certain way, it becomes more difficult to enjoy the surprises that have the potential to become profound blessings. Likewise, we may feel that we failed to meet our inner objectives because we were unable to bring about the desired results through our choices and actions. Consider, though, that we are all at the mercy of the universal flow, and our best intentions are often thwarted by fate. As you grow increasingly open to unforeseen outcomes, you will be more apt to look for and recognize the positive elements of your new circumstances. This receptivity to the unexpected can serve you well when you are called upon to compromise with others, your life plans seem to go awry, or the world moves forward in an unanticipated manner by granting you the flexibility to see the positive aspects of almost any outcome.
The further you distance yourself from your expectations, the more exhilarating your life will become. Though a situation in which you find yourself may not correspond to your initial wants, needs, or goals, ask yourself how you can make the most of it and then do your best to adapt. Your life’s journey will likely take many unpredicted and astonishing twists because you are willing to release your expectations.
