Conversation – 16
Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 16 out of the series. I created and started this thread nearly 7 years
ago. I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread.
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

Just read your post. I was concerned how you would be feeling following the vaccine. We have not had the first shot yet. I’m actually waiting for the Moderna, though may end up using Pfizer. Hubby will get the 2nd vaccine. I am committing to one and not so sure about the 2nd because I had Covid last year which lasted just slightly over two months. Here’s hoping that the rest of the week will end on a good note. Take care of yourselves, and stay safe.

We were glued to the TV and finally left after 3pm for shopping. Stopped at Aldi’s and then on to the Farmer’s Market. I picked up 2 casaba melons, honeydew in containers that were cubed, and many many many many more items. Their sushi area had something that looked appetizing and I bought it. Actually, purchased two containers. These were spring rolls filled with all types of veggies and yes, absolutely delicious. So much fun shopping there and the people behind the scenes so to speak, so very friendly. And now, the ad for next week is out which also includes a three day special beginning tomorrow for Valentine’s Day. I absolutely have no more room in the frig. OK, plenty of room in the freezer. Of course, my favorite fish is on sale……hmm…….Flowers on sale. Strawberries are now in season and blueberries as well. I paid $1.49 lb for red, orange and yellow peppers. They were $2.50 lb last week. Tomorrow $.99 lb. Oh well. You win some. You lose some.
Tomorrow, my cousin who is now in Fl. is scheduled to fly home with her husband for their second shot. I just warned her that she may have to remain home for two weeks in order to quarantine. She is supposed to return to Fl. the next day. I just hope they are both OK and they have no reactions. Oh yes, she and her husband are supposed to be tested for Covid prior to each flight and to bring the results with them to the airport. Cannot believe that they are going back. I surmise she could wait until she returns home the end of this month for the second one.

Hi Sheba;
Love my flowers. Thank you. I hope you are warm, safe and well with Cool Hand Luke and Poppy
I thought of you during the Super Bowl. Is Tom Brady the most envied man in America? What a talent! As for our shots. I felt little or nothing but slight soreness on my arm on Sunday. BUT MONDAY; I felt like a Zombie with fatigue. I walked the doggies at noon, came in and climbed into bed. My temperature was slightly elevated. Stayed in bed from noon to Tuesday morning. Jerry did not have a reaction except a sore arm. Will I be footloose and fancy free now that i have had my vaccine? Heck no. I have my Patricia Nash mask collection, disposable masks, copper fabric masks, shields and a couple of N95s. I have two shields.
The vaccine protects somewhat. I also feel compelled to protect others. We all need to protect ourselves and others.
Used my Instant Pot last night. First time I have used it Not a bad item but another gadget. Do you have one?
Ari and Chloe are getting ready to Zoom with Poppy
Love you

Good afternoon Sheba. Here we go again, more snow starting late afternoon.❄🌨 With the snow we have on the ground, I always wipe Jake’s paws because they are so big and chunks of snow get between the pads. He knows when he comes in to stop and let me do them. Of course, he gets a treat after. He’s definitely not dumb, I think that’s why he wants to go out more often in the snow and cold.🤣
Did one of my least favorite jobs today, hemmed two pair of sweatpants for my husband.😝 I told him that’s my limit for the next six months. Anything nicer than sweatpants goes to the tailor. Also made some chicken salad for dinner.
Husband’s test was good and he is feeling good. Doc said still traces of covid pneumonia but it should go away with time. Told him to keep doing what he’s doing and she will order another test in about a month. Every day makes me happy seeing him do all his normal things – especially clearing snow!!!💗😅

Honoring Everyday Life
Use the good china everyday, as today is all that matters.
We all know someone who keeps plastic covers on his or her couch in order to protect it. The irony is that many of these people may live their lives without ever having actually made contact with their own furniture! This is a poignant and somewhat humorous example of the human tendency to try to save things for special occasions, as if everyday life weren’t special enough to warrant the use of nice things. Many of us have had the experience of never wearing a particular piece of clothing in order to keep it nice, only to have it go out of style in the meanwhile.
It’s interesting to think of what it would mean to us if we let ourselves wear our nicest clothes and eat off the good china on a daily basis. We might be sending ourselves the message that every day we are alive is a special day and a cause for celebration, and that we are worth it. There is something uplifting about treating ourselves to the finest of what we have. It is as if we rise to the occasion when we wear our best clothes and set the table beautifully, as if for a very special guest. We are more mindful of where we place things, what we are eating, and who is with us. Using the good china, eating in the dining room, and taking the plastic off the sofa might be an invitation to be more conscious of the beauty and grace inherent in our everyday lives.
If there are things you’ve stashed away for a special occasion — a bottle of special wine, a gorgeous pair of shoes, an antique lace tablecloth — consider taking them out of their hiding places and putting them to use tonight, just because you are alive now to enjoy them, and that’s a great cause for a celebration.
