Conversation – 16
Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 16 out of the series. I created and started this thread nearly 7 years
ago. I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread.
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

Family members OK. They are home and will fly out tomorrow. Right now they are probably watching a movie before going to bed. Yes, they are in snow country and hopefully all will go well tomorrow. I tried to persuade them to remain in Florida, but it went in one ear and out the other. Again, thanks for your post.
The news isn’t too good for Florida. Though down in the Covid cases we are in an upturn on the offshoots. Heard the tale end of the Gov. speech in which he is hoping that Pres. Biden will not be stopping domestic flights to Florida. We must be getting close to spring break, so he has to be concerned with tourism. The only time I actually see people wearing masks are the visits for doctor/dental appointments, shopping and maybe getting their hair done. Otherwise, like on the beach the masks are few and far between.
Hope Jake is OK. Did you ever find the new coat for him?

Magical Mr Mistoffelees – Cats
You ought to ask magical Mr Mistoffelees
The original conjuring cat
There can be no doubt about that
Please listen to me and don’t scoff
All his inventions are off his own batThere’s no such cat in the metropolis
He holds all the patent monopolies
For performing surprising illusions
And creating eccentric confusionsThe greatest magicians have something to learn
From Mr Mistoffelees’ Conjuring Turn! And we all say
“Oh! Well, I never!
Was there ever a cat so clever as
Magical Mr Mistoffelees?”He is quiet, he is small, he is black
From his ears to the tip of his tail
He can creep through the tiniest crack
He can walk on the narrowest railHe can pick any card from a pack
He is equally cunning with dice
He is always deceiving you into believing
That he’s only hunting for miceHe can play any trick with a cork
Or a spoon and a bit of fish paste
If you look for a knife or a fork
And you think it is merely misplacedYou have seen it one moment,
And then it is gone!
But you’ll find it next week
Lying out on the lawnAnd we all say
“Oh! Well, I never!
Was there ever a cat so clever as
Magical Mr Mistoffelees?”(Presto!)
“Oh! Well, I never!
Was there ever a cat so clever as
Magical Mr Mistoffelees?”(chorus is repeated several times)
His manner is vague and aloof
You would think there was nobody shyer
But his voice has been heard on the roof
When he was curled up by the fireAnd he’s sometimes been heard by the fire
When he was about on the roof
At least, we all heard that somebody purred
Which is incontestable proofOf his singular magical powers
And I’ve known the family to call
Him in from the garden for hours
While he was asleep in the hallAnd, not long ago, this phenomenal cat
Produced seven kittens right out of a hat!And we all say,
“Oh! Well, I never!
Was there ever a cat so clever as
Magical Mr Mistoffelees?”“Oh! Well, I never!
Was there ever a cat so clever as
Magical Mr Mistoffelees?”(chorus is repeated several times)
Ladies and Gentlemen,
I give you:
The magical,
The marvellous,
Mr Mistoffelees! -

Elaine Paige – Memory
Midnight
Not a sound from the pavement
Has the moon lost her memory?
She is smiling alone
In the lamplight
The withered leaves collect at my feet
And the wind begins to moan
Memory
All alone in the moonlight
I can smile at the old days
Life was beautiful then
I remember
The time I knew what happiness was
Let the memory live again
Every street lamp
Seems to beat
A fatalistic warning
Someone mutters
And a street lamp gutters
And soon it will be morning
Daylight
I must wait for the sunrise
I must think of a new life
And I mustn’t give in
When the dawn comes
Tonight will be a memory too
And a new day will begin
Burnt out ends of smoky days
The stale cold smell of morning
The street lamp dies
Another night is over
Another day is dawning
Touch me
It’s so easy to leave me
All alone with my memory
Of my days in the sun
If you touch me
You’ll understand what happiness is
Look a new day has begun … -

Oh my, Sheba, your family is not getting any breaks. They will all be in my prayers tonight, tomorrow and as long as you need. My best friend’s son, who had brain surgery last November, just had a part of his skull reattached on Tuesday so I am on prayer patrol.🙏🙌🙏
Another inch of snow overnight and cold but we did have a couple hours of sun. After all this snow is melted and gone, my husband said he is going to need a wheelbarrow to clean up all Jake’s tootsie rolls!🤣😂
Going to relax this evening and watch some hockey. Thank you for the gorgeous flower. Stay safe and you and Poppy hibernate inside.💕🌹🌹💕

Well, received an e-mail when my cous was on the plane. She and hubby wore 2 masks, a shield, gloves and very warm clothing. I just sent them an e-mail to return asap because the weather looks real frightful from today through sometime next week. I also let her know some of the symptoms following the 2nd shot. I hope both of them will be OK. Really concerned.
Sounds like your niece has Covid. I hope her dad can leave her some soup. She will not be in the mood to eat, so liquid something is better than nothing. She must stay hydrated no matter the taste. Sleeping on the stomach so important to help the lungs. Most importantly, to walk around and maybe do light calisthenics to keep the lungs from getting too congested. If she gets out of breath, becomes light headed or dizzy, tell her to sit in a chair. The first three or four days are usually the hardest. Aspirin does help with the fever. Aches and pains also a symptom. My hubby did have a cough. It sounded like a foghorn. Food on the ship tasted, well there was no taste. So I do understand what she is feeling. I drank a lot of lemonade. Before Covid I used to pick up Newman’s Own which is all Organic. If she is single, maybe her parents could pick up a few things for her and leave it by the door. She should also contact her physician.
I am enjoying your flowers. The red roses have a sweet smell. Honest, when I saw them, I could actually feel the scent. It’s almost like they are in my house, somewhere, but where.
Poppy sounds real cute. When I was single we had a toy, black poodle named Corky. One day he had to go out real bad, My dad was getting ready for work and was in the bathroom. Corky followed him. Dad said he had to go also. When he got up he noticed that Corky was trying to get on the toilet seat, but couldn’t make it. Instead he did his thing next to the toilet. From that day on when he couldn’t hold it, that’s where he went. Not a good thing to do, but easy cleanup my Mom used to say.
Talk to you later.

Putting Power in Perspective
You create better energy when you are FOR something, rather than AGAINST something.
As human beings, we cannot help but be subject to our preferences. However, we do have control over the manner in which these manifest themselves in our lives. Every value we hold dear is an expression of either support or opposition, and it is our perspective that determines whether we are for something or against it. As an example of a situation we are all familiar with at this time: We can direct our energy and intentions into activities that promote peace rather than using our resources to speak out in opposition of war. On the surface, these appear to be two interchangeable methods of expressing one virtue, yet being for something is a vastly more potent means of inspiring change because it carries with it the power of constructive intent.
When you support a cause, whether your support is active or passive, you contribute to the optimism that fuels all affirmative change. Optimistic thoughts energize people, giving them hope and inspiring them to work diligently on behalf of what they believe in. Being for something creates a positive shift in the universe, which means that neither you nor those who share your vision will have any trouble believing that transformation on a grand scale is indeed possible. To be against something is typically easy, as you need only speak out in opposition to it. Standing up for something is often more challenging, because you may be introducing an idea to people that may scare them on a soul level.
Throughout your life, you have likely been told that the actions of one person will seldom have a measurable impact on the world. Yet your willingness to stand up for what you believe in instead of decrying what you oppose can turn the tides of fate. The thoughts you project when you choose to adopt a positive perspective will provide you with a means to actively promote your values and, eventually, foster lasting change. 😎
