Conversation – 16
Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 16 out of the series. I created and started this thread nearly 7 years
ago. I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread.
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

What’s the name of the planet you are living on, lol! You are in the right spot, the warmest place in the country.🌞 We are getting more snow Thursday. I will be thinking of you with the A/C on, sitting on your lanai and seeing green instead of white.😊 It’s a blessing you stayed in Florida this winter.

Love those otters – I have a large picture of one swimming under water!💓

It’s cold here and kind of blustery but not zero. I thought of you as I was watching the problems in Texas. We had ice last night but our roads are great. It just took a little work getting out of the driveway. Part of my neighbor’s tree fell on his driveway so my husband helped him clear it into his yard so he could get his car down the driveway. Just another day in the ‘burgh!🥶⛄❄
Jake is crunching his way around the yard. He gets a little bold and tries to gallop then loses footing. With so much snow, it is hard to stay level with four legs. I just hold my breath until he gets inside so he doesn’t strain/pull any of those 10 year old legs.
Not much planned the rest of the week. Probably start on taxes.😣 Glad your niece is feeling better💗, hope it continues and STOP this virus in Sheba’s family!!🚫❌ Sending “hot” hugs to you and Poppy,🔥🔥

I am looking forward to both visits, Heidi tomorrow and a big hello to Connie on Thursday. I did purchase a necklace from Connie , 748-062. Just could not wait. I am still fussing over Heidi.
Hubby’s closet is looking real good. There are many empty shelves he can now use for whatever. There are many more boxes on the floor to go through, but I will deal with two corners today and then we will see on the rest. I am hoping that those boxes have shoes inside. But my guess it holds papers from many years ago that can be discarded or shredded. I am also looking at the clothing. I am thinking I should just take everything down and put all into the wash to freshen the look. I will also soak the hangers and then see how everything looks once put together. After Covid I took my entire closet apart and washed the walls and shelving. Before putting anything back, I went through plastic bins, purses, wallets, clothing, hangers, shoes, etc. etc. I rewashed all clothing even if it had just been done. And, because we live in Florida, checked for Black Widows and other spiders as well as termites. Knock on wood, we are OK thus far. I now feel better that the closets will soon be behind us. Master Bedroom is also beginning to take shape. Winter/spring cleaning here we come.
I hope you are layering your clothing. Once electrical is on again, stew sounds pretty good or hot soup. I do remember one other time that New England froze including the Atlantic Ocean, though on the bay side. We were friends with a fisherman and a lobsterman. Back then, it was weeks before either of our friends could go out and do their thing. Money lost was only part of it. But friends made during that period, a blessing.
Take care. May be a good day to snuggle with Poppy under a warm quilt or blanket. Take care.
Stay safe. -
Dispelling Drama
The drama in some people’s lives can serve as excitement, prompting the body to manufacture adrenaline, producing a pleasurable surge of energy.
There are scores of people in the world who seem to be magnets for calamity. They live their lives jumping from one difficult situation to the next, surrounded by unstable individuals. Some believe themselves victims of fate and decry a universe they regard as malevolent. Others view their chaotic circumstances as just punishments for some failing within. Yet, in truth, neither group has been fated or consigned to suffer. They are likely unconsciously drawing drama into their lives, attracting catastrophe through their choices, attitudes, and patterns of thought. Drama, however disastrous, can be exciting and stimulating. But the thrill of pandemonium eventually begins to frustrate the soul and drain the energy of all who embrace it. To halt this process, we must understand the root of our drama addiction, be aware of our reactions, and be willing to accept that a serene, joyful life need not be a boring one.
Many people, so used to living in the dramatic world they create, feel uncomfortable when confronted with the prospect of a lifetime of peace and contentment. The drama in their lives serves multiple purposes. Upset causes excitement, prompting the body to manufacture adrenaline, which produces a pleasurable surge of energy. For those seeking affection in the form of sympathy, drama forms the basis of their identity as a victim. And when drama is familial, many people believe they can avoid abandonment by continuing to play a key role in the established family dynamic. The addiction to drama is fed by the intensity of the feelings evoked during bouts of conflict, periods of uncertainty, and upheaval.
Understanding where the subconscious need for drama stems from is the key to addressing it effectively. Journaling can help you transfer this need from your mind onto a benign piece of paper. After repeated writing sessions, your feelings regarding the mayhem, hurt feelings, and confusion often associated with drama become clear. When you confront your emotional response to drama and the purpose it serves in your life, you can reject it. Each time you consciously choose not to take part in dramatic situations or associate with dramatic people, you create space in your inner being that is filled with a calm and tranquil stillness and becomes an asset in your quest to lead a more centered life. 😎
