Conversation – 16
Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 16 out of the series. I created and started this thread nearly 7 years
ago. I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread.
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

Out Here on My Own (“From Fame”)
Song by Irene CaraSometimes I wonder where I’ve been,
Who I am,
Do I fit in.
Make believein’ is hard alone,
Out here on my own.
We’re always provin’ who we are,
Always reachin’
For that risin’ star
To guide me far
And shine me home,
Out here on my own.
When I’m down and feelin’ blue,
I close my eyes so I can be with you.
Oh, baby be strong for me;
Baby belong to me.
Help me through.
Help me need you.
Until the morning sun appears
Making light
Of all my fears,
I dry the tears
I’ve never shown,
Out here on my own.
But when I’m down and feelin’ blue,
I close my eyes so I can be with you.
Oh, baby be strong for me;
Baby, belong to me.
Help me through.
Help me need you.
Sometimes I wonder where I’ve been,
Who I am,
Do I fit in.
I may not win,
But I can’t be thrown,
Out here on my own,
Out here on my own. -

I so enjoyed Ms. Connie’s Visit today and she will be back toward the end of May. 😘😎
I brought a couple of pieces from her and from Heidi Daus. HSN notified me by email
my things will be delivered a little bit late so I don’t have anything to write a review yet.I am looking forward to getting everything later this week. I think the storm may have
something to do with it. Hey you are right there in Florida you got lucky. 😘😎Oodie Oz is cool and cloudy right now but I did have a good walk I can walk in cold
weather as long as Ice is not involved. The only thing that will stop me dead in my
tracks is Ice. I love my bones to much. 🤣 -
Both of us relaxed today. We couldn’t do much since the water was turned off for several hours. Not an accident. Just replacing parts that are old and no longer working on the fire hydrants., Same will occur for the next couple of days.
The birds are cute. I love the way they stand at guard until you feed them. They get as close to the screens as possible but without pecking, though there is one that stomps his feet if you do not feed him right then and there. They love those hotdogs. But as I said a few days ago, they know the difference between a cheap dog and one that costs quite a bit more. They do not like Aldi’s cheap dogs. But, give them one from Costco, they swallow those whole. And, they also know when you are leaving. The furniture from the lanai goes in the house, they won’t come by to bother you. When you return and the furniture is out, well you know the rest. We get the chirps and the hollers. It amazes me just how smart they are. And, yes, just like a child, they do not want to share and let it be known. I think that was when our white heron started coming around to the front of the house.
I still cannot understand when you see a puddle, it’s a lake in Florida. Well, we have a pond, but, that, too, is a lake. Go figure. Anyway, our lake is filled with fish (carp and other species). Consequently, we have tons of birds and just recently, otters. We also have a couple of pelicans that show up every so often. They are the laziest birds I have ever seen and not at all graceful. They actually do a belly flop when landing. And then the fun begins. They will chase any bird that has a fish in it’s beak. After awhile, they become bored and will take off.
I really enjoyed Connie’s visit and my charge card. Let’s not discuss that issue. I purchased like crazy. I am on the fence with the agate with the clasp in the front. I was hoping for the darker stone which looked amazing. What I received was a light blue with white. Don’t get me wrong, it is a beautiful stone, good size and I did wear it to the market yesterday. I will write a review. Today I received the “smart deal” in lapis and amazonite. Also, Robyn, the 41″ necklace in lapis. These are outstanding. Best part, I will be able to wear these with Heidi’s pieces along with Chaco Canyon and Jay King and others. Oh how I enjoy wearing the layered look.
Have a nice walk with Poppy this evening. Warming up in Florida. Temps starting Friday will be in the 80s with humidity. This will last until sometime next week. No rain in sight. Looks like another drought situation. Hope I am wrong.

Howdy Sheba,
I can’t remember the last time I said hello. Sorry about that. I just didn’t want to be a Debbie Downer for you and the Ladies during the time when our family was going through major changes. I was a mess.
In November, my DIL and Grandson moved to Houston. We are talking and keeping the communication open—I am so thankful for that.
In January, my son sold the house in Reston VA, packed up and moved back to Texas to Austin and has a new job. Hubby flew to Virginia to help him pack up and to drive the moving truck to Austin. Son just got moved in, in time to experience this past week’s ice storm. He lives about 1 and 1/2 hrs from us.
We are still standing after over a week of unbelievable weather for us here in Texas. I never want to see snow again, LOL! We did have bottled water for drinking and used the snow to boil down for other uses. We used our 2 burner propane camping stove and was able to have warm food, hot tea.
The power outages were another story. Thank God we have lots of candles. Sleeping bags came in handy too.
Thankfully once we got water flowing again, the pipes held up.
The weather has been sunny and very nice the past few days. People are out in shorts and flip flops. We went for a nice bicycle ride today. That felt so good. Hubby surprised me with a new bike for Christmas.
My two munchkins, Jewel and Little D are just the best. I can’t believe how good they were during that whole miserable week. They have been enjoying the mild weather and especially walking on grass again.
Sheba, thank you for being my friend and thinking about me. ❤️❤️
I’ve missed the sunshine in my life. -
@Sheba, much to admire here…. Love those look a-likes! so adorable.
-
@Sheba, speaking of head candy (the ts), I bought myself a blow dryer holder. I just want to know, where has it been all my life? I love it. Now I can style with both hands. What took me so long to discover this gem?
Since sharing the Brownie Brittle, there is none left here. I made a date shake this afternoon after my phone tasks and some cleaning.
Time to see what I missed from Ms. Connie’s show. -
Be still my heart – it was sunny and 63 today!!🌞👍 I had the window half open in the car when I went to the store.🚗 Now it is overcast and rain is coming in.🌧 We still have lots of white outside but there are a couple little spots near the road where you can actually see land. Speaking of golf, my husband went out on the deck today and took a few swings. My nieces will be back at it starting next month.⛳
My prayers are for Tiger. I sure hope this isn’t the end of his golf career. He has had a lot of major ups and downs over the years and just had another back surgery 2 months ago. This will take time and I wish him well.🙏
Jake is talking to me (a special moan and bark) so that means dinner time. You and Poppy enjoy your evening walk together.🚶♀️🐕

Being Gentle with Ourselves
So often we are sabotaging ourselves by being in our own way without even knowing we are doing so.
During those times when our lives are filled with what seems to be constant change and growth, it is important to remember that we need to be gentle with ourselves. Since it can be easy to use our energy to keep up with the momentum of our lives, we may not be aware of the fact that we are much more likely to run ourselves down. When things seem to be moving quickly, it is especially essential that we make a point to slow down and be gentle with ourselves.
It might be difficult to notice what is happening to us for we may be so caught up in the whirlwind of our lives that we lose sight of the direction in which things are heading. Being gentle with ourselves doesn’t mean that we don’t accomplish things. Instead it means that we honor ourselves on an ongoing basis and take care of the needs of our bodies.
This means different things to different people. For instance, it could mean having a session with a healer; taking a remedy, herbs, or vitamins; or getting extra sleep. Putting our energy into ourselves in this way helps create space for a more positive, loving, and accepting view of our lives. By setting the intention to do so, we will be more cognizant of our energy levels on a daily basis and more able to replenish them as needed.
The more we are able to treat our bodies with gentleness, the more tenderness and compassion we will call forth into our lives. Learning to understand and pay attention to what our self needs will in turn allow us to fill our lives with unlimited loving and healing energy and to truly take care of the things that mean the most to us. AMEN! 😎
