Conversation – 16
Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 16 out of the series. I created and started this thread nearly 7 years
ago. I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread.
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

Hi Sheba – So glad to hear your husband had all A+ results.👍 Another sigh of relief and one less thing on your mind. Been there, done that!!
Yesterday was one of those days where if it could go wrong it did. Too long to get into all of it but one of the things was that I dropped a can of paint right outside of a bedroom and it splashed into two other bedrooms and all over the hall floor.😮😫😩 I spent more time cleaning it all up than I did painting. I now have a new set of painting clothes!😏 My knees were done for the day so after dinner I sat down, wine glass in hand, and watched a hockey game. I am doing NOTHING today.
Dentist appointment tomorrow. The ‘burgh has had a couple of beautiful sunny days around 70.🌞 Tomorrow the same but colder for the weekend and maybe some rain. I’ll take any forecast right now that doesn’t include snow!❄❄ Jake and I sending hugs to you and Poppy.💕

Hi. Funny that you asked about the Dragon fruit. I purchased both the pink and the yellow. Both are favorites. I. Also picked up a casaba melon which is like a honeydew, only sweeter. I actually use part of this fruit in an Asian soup called Wintermelon Soup. They.actually use watermelon which in color is similar to the honeydew, but has absolutely no taste and doesn’t really enhance the flavor. Wintermelon is not a fruit, but rather a squash/gourd. I use chicken broth as a base along with beef and leftover chicken with carrots and at the end using baby bok choy which I cut into bite size pieces along with the leaves. Add the bok choy and honeydew/ Casaba last. When the honeydew is opaque, it’s done. You can also use pork in this. Yummy soup.
I contacted the dealership that we always use for oil change and problems. They said they have
no way of knowing that the battery would die out. I surmise they did not check the age of the vehicle and the age of the battery. The battery had never been changed. Now I also wonder if they checked the brake pads. We have this done prior to our trips North or South. And since our route is over winding roads and all downhill I will make sure this is taken care of prior to our trip.
Again, I want to be safe on that end.It is cloudy on the West coast. Temps will be in the low to mid 70’s today through Friday. Weekend will be in the 80’s. No rain expected. Really need the rain.

Being Aware of Your Thoughts
We seldom accept negative comments from others, however, we so often accept our own inner negative chatter.
Few people enjoy the company of individuals whose attitudes are persistently negative. Yet many of us tolerate the critical chatter that can originate within our own minds. Since we are so used to the stream of self-limiting, critical consciousness that winds its way through our thoughts, we are often unaware of the impact these musings have on our lives. It is only when we become aware of the power of such thoughts that we can divest ourselves of them and fill the emptiness they leave with loving, peaceful affirmations. Many people, upon paying careful attention to their thinking patterns, are surprised at the negativity they find there. But when we take notice of involuntary thoughts in a nonjudgmental way, we initiate a healing process that will eventually allow us to replace intimidating and upsetting self-talk with positive, empowering thoughts.
While the occasional downbeat or judgmental thought may have little impact on your contentment, the ongoing negativity that passes unnoticed can have a dampening effect on your mood and your outlook. When you are aware of the tone of your thoughts, however, you can challenge them. Try to be conscious of your feelings, opinions, and judgments for a single day. From sunup to sundown, scrutinize the messages you are feeding into your subconscious mind. Consider your thoughts from the perspective of a detached observer and try not to judge yourself based on the notions that come unbidden into your mind. Simply watch the flow of your consciousness and make a note of the number of times you find yourself focusing on gloomy notions or indulging in self-directed criticism.
As you become increasingly aware of your patterns of thought, whether positive and negative, you will gradually learn to control the character of your stream of consciousness. Endeavor always to remember that the images and ideas that pass through your mind are transient and not a true representation of who you are. In training yourself to be cognizant of your thoughts, you gain the ability to actively modulate your mood. The awareness you cultivate within yourself will eventually enable you to create a foundation of positivity from which you can build a more authentic existence. Amen!
