Conversation – 16
Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 16 out of the series. I created and started this thread nearly 7 years
ago. I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread.
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

Sheba, hope you and your husband have a great weekend. I am so tired. Had to get up much earlier than usual, 7am to make coffee and breakfast for my son and husband. They went up the Mtn today, They were tired and came back early. I am going to try and stay a wake for a few more hours. Spent the day on Mothers stuff, lots got done. I heard the IRS extended all tax returns from the usual April 15th to May 17th due to covid.

Oodie, hope your back is doing better today. 3 inches in 15 minutes is a lot for sure. That would cause our freeways to come to a halt. You are in the tropics. Why do you unplug everything when there are Thunderstorms, Is this practiced by a lot of people?
Hope Trivia works out for everyone next week.

Thank you for the refreshments – glad you could join me!🍹🍹
My husband has been talking about going to see his sister in Atlanta for a couple months since he hasn’t seen her in almost 3 years. He decided around noon today that he’s going in May so I booked him plane tickets. I told him we really have to try hard next week to get him a vaccine appointment because it would make me feel better if he had it before he flew. It has been tough getting one here lately because PA has added so many groups and ages. Around 1:00 I got the alert from the County that they added Mon. & Tues. to a clinic about 25 minutes from home. He said try to get me in and I got him an appt. on Tues., yay! We don’t have a master list like it sounds Oodie has in Florida. You are pretty much on your own for scheduling somewhere. And the appts. go in a blink of an eye.
Off to mom’s tomorrow. Looks like a great week coming up with sun and warm temperatures. Happy spring!!🌺🌼🌷🌻

You were absolutely right about a storm causing the backache. We were prepared for rain and maybe a thunderstorm, though the weather people predicted just winds and some rain/showers. Never thought it would be an awful storm. We had 3″ of rain within 15 minutes. And it rained for a longer period after that. But, as soon as the storm left, we were both good as new. Guess that taught both of us a lesson to keep the TV on in case there are changes to the forecast.

Hubby is sound asleep, so guess we will go to the Farmer’s Market and Costco tomorrow. Taci was absolutely correct that the storm last night brought on a horrific backache. I never, well, almost never complain, but yesterday at Aldi’s I bought what was on the list and didn’t really look at anything else. I could barely make it to the van and then had to empty the carriage. Thought we never would make it home, but we did. Even brought all packages in and put everything away. Hubby’s back was in bad shape also. The thunderstorm didn’t hit until after the fire trucks arrived. I am wondering if the low had something to do with her death. They had moved into the house either in July or August of last year and she helped her daughter with everything. She even spent some time outside sunning herself with a pooch on her lap. Have to say, I haven’t seen the pooch in sometime. As soon as the lightning started, I walked back to our home. Everything in the MB was unplugged and did the same with the rest of the house, even disconnecting the phones. Glad I did, because there was a bad streak that made the over head lights flicker. And, as I said previously, 3″ of rain within 15 minutes. No, the drought isn’t over. That rain came to fast to saturate the ground. Hopefully, we will have some spring rain soon.
I forgot to mention that while at Aldi’s, there were many customers not wearing masks. I think hubby and myself and one other couple were the only ones. There is a huge sign on the door that masks must be worn at all times in the store. My husband commented that he hoped they did not carry the virus or any of the offshoots.
I have started looking at possible places to stay while heading North. My cousin, who was in Florida, stayed at the Marriotts. She mentioned that her physician recommended them because they were super clean. Her stop in South Carolina was extremely scary. So scared were they, that they slept with their masks on and left early AM.. The room had not been cleaned properly. This means I will add disinfectant, mop, broom, paper towels to the list. We will bring our own pillows and comforters with us. As soon as we arrive at the first house I will immediately disinfect them and then wash. Or, may just discard to make life easier, though we will have to do it again on the return. Definitely will read reviews.
Tonight is Trivia. I have not heard anything from the Mods so do not know what to expect. I do not know why I have the feeling that the Arcade team likes baseball. Enjoy the rest of your day. See ya in Trivia.

The Greatness in Others
We are all moved by greatness when we see it — we know the feeling of it and have it within ourselves
A person who is said to possess greatness stands apart from others in some way, usually by the size or originality of their vision and their ability to manifest that vision. And yet those who recognize that greatness, whether they display it themselves or not, also have greatness within them; otherwise, they could not see it in another. In many ways, the achievements of one person always belong to many people for we accomplish nothing alone in this world. People who display greatness rely upon others who are able to see as they do, to listen, encourage, and support. Without those people who recognize greatness and move in to support it, even the greatest ideas, works of art, and political movements would remain unborn.
We are all moved by greatness when we see it, and although the experience is to some degree subjective, we know the feeling of it. When we encounter it, it is as if something in us stirs, awakens, and comes forth to meet what was inside us all along. When we respond to someone else’s greatness, we feed our own. We may feel called to dedicate ourselves to their vision, or we may be inspired to follow a path we forge ourselves. Either way, we cannot lose when we recognize that the greatness we see in others belongs also to us. Our recognition of this is a call to action that, if heeded, will inspire others to see in us the greatness they also possess. This creates a chain reaction of greatness unfolding itself endlessly into the future.
Ultimately, greatness is simply the best of what humanity has to offer. Greatness does what has not been done before and inspires the same courage that it requires. When we see it in others, we know it, and when we trust its presence in ourselves, we embody it. 😎
