Hi again. Weather today was in the mid 70s to low 80s with no humidity. It was really nice. Rain is expected Saturday but more of a possibility Sunday into Monday. I hope we receive enough to put a good dent in our drought situation.

We took a drive this afternoon to the vaccine area. I had the address and was about to enter the info, but noticed that I didn’t have a connection to the van’s electrical system. So, entering to a GPS that had a dead battery would have been no help. I then became the GPS. We decided to take the highway thinking it would be an easier route. The back roads are usually look like a huge parking lot. Well, instead of taking 10 minutes traveling 5 miles (loads of lights with cameras) it took a good half hour. Highway, which is an interstate was no different. Thankfully, we had only 3 miles between our on ramp to the off ramp. Slow pace, but at least we were moving at a snail’s pace. The other side was worse. It led me to think that we would have to be on the road before 6 am when we head North. And, I am not an early bird. That is, unless you see me still up until 4 am. We got off the exit ramp OK. Made a turn at the light and proceeded to where I thought the road might be. And, guess what, I was absolutely correct. Made a right turn and mentioned to hubby that if we saw First Street East, we went too far. As I said that I noticed the area on my left. There were huge signs so you couldn’t miss the turn. Hubby wanted to go in, but there were other signs that stated appointment only. I made him to a U turn further up the road. Cannot believe we actually got there without the GPS.

No, still no appointment for me. I check hourly beginning at 8 am and end at 6 pm. I even check phone messages all day as well. Have a feeling my appointment will be in e-mail sometime Friday. Not sure if I will be going next week because I heard that they may be doing the Johnson one next week. Could be two or three weeks down the road before I hear anything. It’s a wait and see game.

I am also trying to find the navigation my cousin used from her home to Florida. She does not use Garmin, TomTom or Magellan. This one not only gives you turn by turn directions, but also includes the weather, time to start your trip, and also aids in circumventing where there is an accident or construction or both. If you are hungry also gives you the restaurants nearby. I think I will be preparing a meal and using our refrigerator in the car. I have paper plates as well as throw away utensils. The refrigerator is a Coleman and plugs into the back of our van. It also comes with a motor and regular outlet plug if you wish to bring it into the hotel/motel. One of our best purchases.

I just love all the seashells. Wish I could walk the beach and pick up a few. Maybe when we return, which, for this year, is up in the air.

I hope you also put your husband’s name in for the vaccine. He may be able to get one at the same time as you. By the way, there is a customer asking for suggestions for what to wear that is comfortable. She is going for chemo and is in the room for hours. Her thread is below yours.

I cannot believe it…….I left a note for you just a few short minutes ago. I did the recaptcha and received the check and then sent it to the thread. But, where is it????? Out in oblivion?:??????

I returned to the thread because I had a thought. I realize that we both love Oriental artwork and other things as well. But, I remember how awful Spring and especially Summer and Fall can be when you are working outside and those little gnats are all over the place as well as the mosquitos. So, instead of bug spray I carry long sticks of incense that have a long stick that can easily go into the ground. I put them all over the area I will be working with. Light it and for some reason, NO BUGS. The scent is good also. If you have an Asian store, they come in huge packets and are reasonably priced. And while on the subject. I came across something called “backflow incense burners.” Different designs where the candle cone makes the scene change in that there is now a waterfall. Different price points and some so attractive. Take a look when you get a chance. HSN does not carry it. Amazon has them in different shapes and sizes. Now, I’ll go back and see if I can retrace my thoughts.
