Hi, Sheba,
We got our vaccine shots last Thursday. I’m the lucky one who had the side effects! My arm hurt for two days from my elbow to my shoulder.😭😣 My arm muscles just ached so bad.😭 And I’ve felt very tired & still do. I sure hope the 2nd dose in May has no effects!🙏🤞 I usually have zero side effects, even with the shingles vaccine.

As I mentioned to Sheba, the worse part of the trip was the parking lot on the Interstate. Funny, we left early and in case we could not drive into the area, we made a decision to go to Walmart or just stay until the time in their parking lot. But the traffic jam made it easy for us in that once we took the ramp we could go straight through. At least now I won’t have to stay in a line and hope for whatever. This way everything is over and I have my card for the return.

Right now we are undecided when we will return North. The traffic jam was horrid and what I didn’t say was that it was bumper to bumper in both directions. We have about 1300-1400 miles to travel and being in traffic does make us tired by the time we reach our destinations. If we left today it would have taken us over 12 hours to reach the motel in Savannah, Ga. instead of the five or six it usually takes. I just sent our neighbor an e-mail because it looks like she is heading out either tomorrow or the next day.

I am also hoping that we can squeeze in a three day stop in Lancaster, Pa.. We are watching the pandemic in all the States we have to drive through. Take care and stay safe.

Thank you for the kind words. I was never so happy to be able to get the vaccine. From the time the vaccine became available I did a study of all three. I really wanted the Johnson because I felt with having had Covid, it would be the extra mile needed. The other two are a couple of doses about 3-4 wks. apart. However the Governor felt that the two doses were better and made the one dose difficult for people to get. For me, to get the Johnson would mean a two hour drive and then most likely staying overnight some place. That didn’t sit well. So studied the two dose and felt Moderna was the lesser alternatives. We both rested when we returned and the only reaction thus far is an itch where the needle went in and some redness. Other than that it is the usual aches and pains that I get before a storm. Looks like we may get some needed rain.

I’m so happy for you and Jake that he received good lab results. I know I am on pins and needles whenever my two go in for any kind of procedure or check ups.
Jewel and Little D know a trip is in the works as they have been with me all day after they saw me get the suitcases out of the closet. I don’t dare get their’s out yet because they will think we are going to leave soon.
