Conversation – 16

Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 16 out of the series. I created and started this thread nearly 7 years
ago. I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread.
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

This is a song from my father’s archive which I now own. 😎

Mountain Of Love
Johnny RiversStanding on a mountain looking down on a city
The way I feel is a doggone pity
Teardrops fallin’ down a mountainside
Many times I’ve been here, many times I’ve cried
We used to be so happy when we were in love
High on a mountain of love
Night after night I’m a-standing here alone
Weepin’ my heart out till cold gray dawn
Prayin’ that you’re lonely and you come here too
Hoping just by chance that I’ll get a glimpse of you
Tryin’ hard to find you, somewhere up above
High on a mountain of love
A mountain of love, a mountain of love, you should be ashamed
We used to be a mountain of love
But you just changed your name
Way down below there’s a half a million people
Somewhere there’s a church with a big tall steeple
Inside a church there’s an altar filled with flowers
Wedding bells are ringin’ and they shoulda been ours
That’s why I’m so lonely, my dreams gone above
High on a mountain of love
A mountain of love, a mountain of love, you should be ashamed now
Used to be a mountain of love
But you just changed your name
Way down below there’s a half a million people
Somewhere there’s a church with a big tall steeple
Inside a church there’s an altar filled with flowers
Wedding bells are ringin’ that shoulda been ours
That’s why I’m so lonely, dream gone above
High on a mountain of love
High on a mountain of love
High on a mountain of love
High on a mountain of love
High on a mountain of love -

Good evening from the Gulf Coast where temps are in the 90s with humidity. No rain until, maybe, the weekend. Our lawn is now non-existent. No more just spots of brown. Whole area is brown. Only can water on Fridays, and then only for a few short minutes.
Both of us are feeling better. I’m back to redoing kitchen cabinets. Tossing all spices that have expired. May empty some of the glass ones and use it for loose tea. Can always make a label and put tape over it. I’m using the step stool to get at the upper shelves. Hope to have hubby’s help on those as well since heights is not my forte.
No news on cousin. I surmise his brother isn’t sharing the info with family. And, he left word that he isn’t accepting e-mails or phone messages at this time. I surmise he needs some breathing room.
Hope you have a nice evening. Stay safe.

Hi to you in Oz. It is a very hot and humid day here, upper 80’s.🔥 By the weekend it will be in the 60’s and 70’s. No big plans yet. Mom’s complex is having a social/picnic on Saturday so I know she will be there. Just hope it doesn’t rain.
Hockey team played one of their best games all season last night, double overtime, and lost on a flubbed play by the goalie.😣 My heart was broken.😪 If they lose tomorrow, they are out of the playoffs; otherwise, game 7 on Friday. Makes me wonder how they were first in the division and fall apart in the playoffs.🥴 May have to start rooting for another team.
Chicken salad for dinner, something easy and light. Jake is relaxing in the A/C, way too warm outside for the furry fellow. You and Poppy are invited for evening ice tea under the awning on the deck.🧉

How Long
When we take the time to sit with our emotions fully, it will become apparent that the emotion was a catalyst for much-needed healing
Our emotions color our lives with varying palettes. Sometimes we feel a strong emotion in reaction to something that has happened, but emotions also visit us seemingly out of the blue, flooding us unexpectedly with joy or grief or melancholy. Like the weather, they come and go, influencing our mental state with their particular vibration. Sometimes a difficult emotion hangs around longer than we would like, and we begin to wonder when it will release its hold on us. This is often true of grief stemming from loss, for example, or lingering anger over a past event.
Usually, if we allow ourselves to feel our emotions fully when they come up, they recede naturally, giving way to another and another. When an emotion haunts us, it is often because we are afraid of really feeling it. Emotions like despair and rage are powerful, and it is natural to want to hold them at bay. Certainly, we don’t want to let them take us over so that we say or do things we later regret. When we are facing this kind of situation, it can be helpful to ask the spirit, “How long do I need to sit with these emotions, how long do I need to feel these emotions before they can pass?” If you ask sincerely and wait, an answer will come. Setting a time limit on your engagement with that difficult emotion may be just the technique you need to face it fully.
When you have a sense of how much time you need to spend, set a timer. Sit down and make yourself available to the emotion that has been nagging you. All you have to do is feel it. Avoid getting attached to it or rejecting it. Simply let it ebb and flow within you. Emotions are by their nature cyclical, so you can trust that just as one reaches its apex it will pass. Each time you sit with its presence without either repressing or acting out, you will find that that difficult emotion was the catalyst for much needed emotional healing. AMEN! 💕😎😘

Any plans for the upcoming Holiday Weekend? I have been working on the patio
and it is stunning I brought a very large weather proof cream Umbrella so the sun
does not bother us. I do have chaise lounge chairs and a table with four chairs now
some of this we have had for years. I only added a new and bigger umbrella due to
summer coming up fast. 😎Give Jewell and Little D a nice cloudy and some rain pet. 🤣How are the flowers and veggies
going this year?
