Hi Oodie – I don’t know when you are leaving for the north but thought I’d let you know PA is lifting their mask mandate on 6/28. Right now in my county most stores have signs stating if you are fully vaccinated a mask is not needed. We have eaten out 5-6 times and do a lot of pickup and have had no issues. My 91 year old mom has eaten out much more than me and my husband, even before she got vaccinated, and hasn’t had any problems. I know you will be on the eastern side of the state but things must be going well since the 6/28 date was announced. Just wanted to give you a heads up for your time in PA.🙌👍

Today is the “perfect” day in the ‘burgh.😎 Mostly sunny, no humidity and around 75. I could take this 365 days a year. Rain moved up to tomorrow and chilly Saturday and Sunday, around 60 but if the sun is out, I will like it.😊

Mom is fine, sis went and got new tires on mom’s car today.🚗 Although mom no longer drives, sis uses it everyday when she is here. She did a Costco trip on Tuesday and stopped at my house today to deliver a few things she got for me.💜

I think I will make salads today, like you, have all the fixings.🥗 Give Poppy the perfect day pet from Jake.🐕

Being Happy with Your Job

It is possible to find happiness in any job because what you do is often less important than how you do it.

In our search to define ourselves, we often look to our job to show us our worth. Society does not judge all professions equally, however, and it is not uncommon for the individuals who hold jobs that others may consider to be ordinary or menial to feel that they themselves are ordinary or menial. In truth, many wonderful and wise people throughout history have held what have typically been perceived as ordinary jobs, and this in no way has had any bearing on whether or not they have managed to contribute their skills and talents to the world. Whether you work in business, education, medicine, retail, or another profession, you worth is inherent to who you are and not what you do for a living.

A job that you enjoy that lets you meet your needs and allows you to live in accordance with your values will always be more gratifying than a high-status job that you dislike. But while experiencing professional satisfaction can be a vital part of being fulfilled by your work, it is important to remember that it is possible to find happiness in any job. This is because what you do is often less important than how you do it. Your attitude and intention can turn a mediocre job into work that fulfills you because of the way you approach it. If you do your job well and what you do benefits others, then you are doing work that is making this world a better place.

If you are happy in your current line of work and feel that it allows you to be yourself and live authentically while meeting your emotional and physical needs, allowing time for you to enjoy the fruits of your labor, then you have found a job that adds value to your life. If you are a waitress, then be the best waitress you can. Take pride in your work and others will notice your passion. You can contribute your talents and skills to this world while doing any job. It is not the kind of work you do that allows you to be of service. It is you who must choose to be of service through the work that you do. 😎

It’s in the high 80s today. Showers are expected Sunday and Monday. Again, I won’t hold my breath because it is a hit and miss thing.

I would pick up the Dragon Fruit @ $2.50 ea. That is not a bad price when most go for $4.99/lb.. Taci, I believe, stated that it was around $10 ea. . Definitely, highway robbery. States that can grow cacti outside should be able to produce the dragon fruit. I need to go to Lowes one of these days to check out a few things. I know they sell the plant between $14-$18 ea. . It will take about four years to produce fruit. I’m going to check it out, but purchasing will have to wait for our return trip South.

We are now talking about the return trip North. It will not be next week. Both of us are scared, but I surmise we will grit our teeth and head out. However, before doing so we will test our backs on long trips around Florida to see if we can sit for two hours which would be like going from one rest area to another. We also need to eat out or order out. Maybe try both. We were expecting to visit our Oriental Market, but that has become moot for today. Just not in the mood to fight the traffic, yet, it may be a good idea since we have to use the Interstate and we can judge the traffic and the congestion.

Tomorrow is Trivia. Will be interesting to see if there is a game. Where has the week gone?? We will probably know what will happen to Trivia within the next three weeks. Wonder what new games will be played in the Arcade and which ones will fall by the wayside.
