Conversation – 16
Hello Peeps time for a new Conversation Thread. This is
number 16 out of the series. I created and started this thread nearly 7 years
ago. I will change it often from now on. This is just a knock around
thread about things in life. My life and others. I am an avid Heidi
Daus Collector, former singer, model and so on. I do this thread because
I enjoy what I do. I love fashion and music and HSN is a little of both.
I cover a lot of music and fashion on this thread.
I am going to wish Happy Holidays to all the Peeps out there and please
stay safe.

“What A Wonderful World”I see trees of green
Red roses too
I see them bloom
For me and you
And I think to myself
What a wonderful worldI see skies of blue
And clouds of white
The bright blessed day
The dark sacred night
And I think to myself
What a wonderful worldThe colors of the rainbow
So pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces
Of people going by
I see friends shaking hands
Saying, “How do you do?”
They’re really saying
“I love you”I hear babies cry
I watch them grow
They’ll learn much more
Than I’ll never know
And I think to myself
What a wonderful worldYes, I think to myself
What a wonderful worldOh yeah

@Shoelady
I read your post from yesterday. Your mom picked a cruise for February. I just wanted to give you a heads up on some things. There is a running battle between the cruise ships and the Governor of Florida on showing IDs along with current, up to date vaccinations for Covid. The cruise ships are making the vaccines compulsory for all their employees and need verification from their guests that they have done the same. The Governor feels that is no one’s business whether you have had the vaccination or not. Ships are now contemplating to leave from other ports where this would be viable. So, say your mom wants to leave from Florida, in February she may have to embark elsewhere. Could be NYC, Md., Bermuda, Caribbean or another Port of Call. Of course the cruise lines will let her know. This can change in a matter of minutes. Florida wants the embarkations because the tourists is what they wish for and brings in many $$$. By the way, hope she took the senior rate. Having a Fl. address also gives us perks as well.

Thanks for the info, I did read something about that with the governor. My sister did not book airfare yet, said she has plenty of time to do that. Mom said “wherever the cruise leaves from, that is where I’ll go.” I see there are many cruise lines already booking for this summer out of Florida so maybe it will be ironed out before next February.

Considering Others
Every thought we think and every action we take has an impact on the world around us
Every thought we think and every action we take has an impact on the world around us. To be aware of this is to be conscious of our impact on the people in our lives. Sometimes we just want to do what we want to do, but considering the full ramifications of our actions can be an important part of our spiritual growth and awareness. At first, being more conscious requires effort, but once we have made it a habit, it becomes second nature. The more we practice this awareness of others, the more we find ourselves in easy alignment with our integrity.
Our thoughts are an important place to begin this practice because our thoughts are the seeds of our actions. It is not necessary or beneficial to obsessively monitor all our thoughts, but we can perhaps choose one thought or action per day and simply notice if we are in alignment with this experience of integrity. For example, we may find ourselves replaying a negative encounter with someone in our minds. We may think that this doesn’t affect the person about whom we are thinking, but the laws of energy tell us that it does. When we hold someone negatively in our minds, we risk trapping them in negativity. If we were this person, we might wish for forgiveness and release. We can offer this by simply letting go of the negative thought and replacing it with a wish for healing on that person’s behalf.
With regard to our actions, we may have something difficult to express to someone. Taking the time to consider how we would feel if we were in his or her shoes will enable us to communicate more sensitively than we would if we just expressed ourselves from our own perspective. When we modify our approach by taking someone else’s feelings into account, we bring benefit to that person and ourselves equally. The more we do this, the more we reaffirm our integrity and the integrity of our relationship to the world. 😘😎💕

Sheba, Hello! Hope you had a wonderful Memorial Day!
The flying, my husband is way more adventuress than I, also I was his 1st passenger. The non adventurer who doesn’t like heights. Once we were over the desert, and the plane was shaking like we were popcorn in a pan, it was the heat rising and whatever else, I don’t know. It wasn’t really too bad. We also got locked in a plane twice, it was the same darn plane. We were in the Desert, the airport was empty, and it was hot, I wanted to kick out the front windows but my husband was able to escape from the luggage entry which seemed as small as a pet door. That plane had a major design flaw. He stopped flying over 20 years ago. At this point he says he doesn’t want to start up again.
Oodie’s Uncle Story is so very touching.

Memorial Day is a Day of Remembrance. But not only for the remembrance of our soldiers who fought the wars in other countries, but for the many strangers who took them into their own homes and their hearts. My uncle, may he RIP, used to tell many stories of his time in England. While stationed there he was introduced to a woman who gave him a place to sleep and home cooked meals. I have no idea how many months/years he was stationed in England, but suffice to say it was many. Every leave he would return to her home. Long leaves he would return to his home. They remained friends for over 70 years and would visit one another every so often. So, on this day I want to say thank you to all the strangers who took a service member into their hearts and made their day better just by being there.
-
Lovely story – it could be a movie or book that I would see and read.💕
-
Thank you for sharing your story about your Uncle and his amazing friend in England.
A friendship that lasted 70 years. I could talk to your Uncle for hours. I have so many
questions. When I worked at Macy’s Dept. Store when I was a student I knew a tailor who showed
me his numbers that were tattooed on his arm. I had never seen anything like that I
could not believe what I was looking at. May your dear Uncle RIP and I thank him
for us service and to the wonderful English Woman who enriched both their lives. 🌹Here is to your Uncle and his English Friend I bet they had many days with a
cup of tea. 🌹 -
My uncle was 101 when he passed. He was forever young in voice, spirit and attitude. He embraced life fully and was always there when anyone needed his support. That lady visited my uncle a few years or so before his death. It was a wonderful week where they both reminisced and looked at old photos. I sometimes wonder why no one thought of thanking these volunteers who helped the young soldiers who were so homesick being so far away from family and friends. A great many never had the opportunity to return and tell their stories of such enduring friendships.
